KK's May Check In

Hello!

Well, no workout squeezed in, but I really didn't expect to. Today, no court, so I should be able to get what I want done (barring any emergencies, etc.) So I plan on doing the P90 sculpt 1/2 and then golfing. I golfed terrible yesterday, so I'm determined to get some more in and get that game a bit better.

Have fun at the triathlon this weekend Jeanette, sounds like work with a lot of fun mixed in.

Karen - I agree with Jeanette, probably water flutuation. Any ideas of what the next series is going to be about?

Hello ladies.

Today I did shoulder and chest work. (had to double up since I did plyox yesterday and no weights). Then I did ab ripper X w/ DH. I decided not to do cardio today as I feel that 6 days is a bit excessive. Tomorrow I am supposed to do legs and some cardio.

Must get back to studying. Friday is my last professor-written exam. Everything we've learned in 2 years. Ick! Gotta get to it.

Becky

Good Evening!:)

Sounds you are all doing well today. Yea! It was a 26 minute cardio from SJP today and then a stretch. Always a favorite day for me. Still building up to more intensity -- very gradually...

Jeanette -- Christi step sounds really good -- there's so many of these workouts that I want to get -- Christi is amongst them and the P90X series, as well. Thanks for explaining the differences between Christi and Cathe. Good to have the ones with intensity and those without, as well.

Camping before the triathlon sounds really fun, Jeanette. Have a great time!

Rhea -- you have the P90X's as well, huh? I really need to get these, as well. But soon I'll have Cathe's CTX series -- something I've wanted for a long, long time. Glad the golfing went well -- it must've been beautiful.

Am debating on the next series -- I may do a series on Coyote's Clan -- Coyote is a trickster in Native American lore and might prove to be a good basis for a series -- I've been thinking of other mythological figures and am reading like crazy -- this current series is based on the Thunderer in Native American mythology, but it may be Coyote's Clan for the next series -- lots of potential in that, I think.

Becky -- great on keeping the workouts going -- I think you were wise to not to 6 days of cardio in a row, although even if you did, it probably would have produced some gain for you. Keep at it Becky -- it's almost over.

Tomorrow is some weight workout for me -- I think I'll try a premix from Drill Max -- weight only -- see how that goes.

Have a super day and terrific workouts!:7

Good morning,

Today was TLT's Finding Your Core with Susan Harris. Glad I am working on the functional fitness this week, need to incorporate it more often instead of the same old weight lifting moves. Tonite is a bike club meeting. I have tomorrow and Monday off from work so today is my Friday:7!

Rhea, sorry about your game not going so well. Wasn't it Ladies Fun Night? I'm sure golf would be a game I could really get into. Maybe my next hobby? Hope your neck is all healed up.

Karen, SJP is still one of my favorites. Your mind must always be working, thinking up new plots and such. Do you always have a piece of paper handy to jot down notes? Enjoy your Drill Max today.

Jeanette

Good morning!

Jeanette - yes, golf is addicting. I've been playing golf instead of working out. I really need to get back into the routine. My body is telling me that I need it. Stiff and cranky. Still having neck issues, but I think it is because I haven't been doing any cardio to get blood flowing. Tues evening is a "play day" (they also have play days on Weds and Sats) There are different games; Tues was "t's and f's"....so you only counted all the wholes starting with a t or an f (First, Second, third, etc.) Yesterday when I played, I actually made par on two holes....whoo hoooo.

Becky - good luck on your test tomorrow. You'll do great! You are almost there!!

Karen- I actually don't have the P90x series. I have the first P90 series. I call it the baby P90. It is actually very easy, but when I was doing it I did notice that I actually had some improvements. So since they are only 1/2 hour long. I'm going to start using them first thing in the morning. That is, as soon as I can get my sleeping better so that I can get up at 5:00 a.m. 5 is not really that early, but I've been having trouble sleeping at night, so I let myself sleep until six to make up for the restless night.

Well, better get back to work and take advantage of another no court day.

Today I did legs and some cardio on the treadmill (actually lots of cardio...my housekeeper was at the house and I was trying to stay out of it until she was done:) )

Now, must CRAM for tomorrow's test.

-Becky

Good Evening!:)

I sort of took a day off from work today -- didn't really plan on it, but it's the way it happened. I'll be working on Sat and possibly on Sun., as well, so maybe it's okay -- although I do feel guilty.

It was the Total Body premix from Drill Max today -- boy, that sure works your shoulders, doesn't it? But here's the exciting part -- I got my CTX series today.

I am so excited -- after all these months of wanting it -- next week, I'm going to do a CTX rotation, just to acquaint myself with the series. I am so excited.

Rhea -- Par in 2 holes -- Wow! Go, Rhea! Okay, you'll probably laugh, but I find this works -- before you go to sleep, read fairy tales. It almost always puts me to sleep. Another trick from my mother-in-law about leg cramps in bed -- put a bar of soap -- any soap -- at the bottom of your bed under the bottom sheet. Okay, I know it sounds strange -- but you probably won't get cramps.

Jeanette -- Yeah, my mind is always going around looking for plots and scenes -- mostly scenes -- I write by scenes. It's like having constant homework -- for life... I love Susan Harris -- her videos hooked me on exercise videos.

Becky -- it's a thing with me -- probably cause I live close to Hollywood that one never wishes luck -- so let me say -- Go get 'em!

Tomorrow is IMAX3 for me -- 8 intervals -- hope to have an early bed and up early. Much to do tomorrow to make up for today.

Have a super day and terrific workouts!:7

Just a short post:

Had checked in to see if you had your scores back yet, Becky. But I'm sure you aced them all.

Have a super weekend!:7

I did get my scores back from the practice boards I took last Friday the 11th. I went up 25 points w/ only 1 week of studying!!! I am in a great place. That score was only 5 points below my low happy score. Here's my goals (highest I have ever heard of is 260):
Screaming ecstatic score: 250
Happy score; 240
Kind of happy, but not crying score: 230

This practice test was a 225 and I had only studied 1 week. I have had a week since that where I have studied and just under 3 left to go. I feel really good about things right now.

I don't know what I got on the final I took this past Friday. I probably won't know until the end of this coming week.

I ended up relaxing on Friday after my exam.
Yesterday I did KempoX.
Today I did 35 minutes on the elliptical today (needed something easy)

Must get back to studying. I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Becky

Good Evening!:)

Go Becky! Yeah! Keep it up. It's almost over. And great on keeping the workouts going. This is just great!

So my rotation next week is easy -- it's the CTX series -- I'm just going to start with the first workout and go all the way through them.

It was my hubby's birthday on Saturday -- we went to San Diego and saw friends -- had a great dinner and birthday cake -- and just a terrific day and today my older daughter came over to visit for a belated Mother's Day and birthday for Paul. It was really a terrific weekend.

On Friday, got together with my friend, Patricia, from the Blackfeet rez to put together some plans for literacy and such on the rez. So I'm excited.

Am still working on the formation of the next series -- but am closer to what I think might work.

I'm about 2 - 3 pounds heavy -- doesn't sound like much, but my summer clothes don't fit well and I'll be on tour soon -- so starting Monday, I am officially dieting -- with weekends off -- just watching it closely. I'd like to take off 4 pounds by the time tour starts and that's completely do-able -- would just like to fit into my clothes a little better.

Okay, so have a super day everyone -- hope everyone's weekend was great and have a really wonderful day! :7

Hi,
DH and I are off work today. Going to take out the woodstove this morning, do a little housework and head to the woods with the dogs.

Had an awful thing happen at the family BBQ on Friday night. I've detailed it much more on the Xers check in for Saturday and Sunday if you want more, but briefly here it is: My niece's border collie came up out of the blue and bit my little dachshund Tillie in the eye, forcing her eye out of the socket (very gross) and we all panicked of course. This happened at 9:15 at night, but we found an out of town vet that would take her. We rushed her in and they kept her overnight, removing her eyeball. I had the triathlon to go to the next morning so DH picked her up. You wouldn't believe it, but 48 hours later, she is acting completely normal, barking, worrying Lexxie, jumping up into our arms, no difference at all. The stitches will need to be removed in 10-12 days.

The triathlon was fantastic. I rode and felt really strong for my bike portion of it, passing many riders along the way. Of course, most of them had completed the .9 mile swim and were dealing with the bike part when I passed them. Anyways, it was a great experience. I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Today I started Fitness Freak's 1 body part a week rotation. Today was GS Chest only and then premix 1-4 of Lowmax. Good workout.

Becky, good going on your test scores.

Karen, enjoy CTX, can't wait to hear how you like it. Glad you had such at nice time at DH's birthday. That weight will come off soon.

Jeanette

Good afternoon ladies.

Today I did Cardio and Weights (minus the ab work because I am going to do ab ripper x w/ dh tonight). I am sick of the 1 body part per day thing. Freestyling it is boring to me. I'll just have to do shorter workouts or something w/ Cathe.

So sorry to hear about your dog Jeanette. That is awful. I am happy to hear she is acting better though.

Anyway, must get back to studying. Hope everyone has a great day!

Good afternoon!

Wow, what a day. I'll be glad when it is completely over. I think I will be glad when June is over.

Let's see, this weekend was golf on Sat (with too much drinking....ugh) My DH won the four man tournament, so they get to go play Spy Glass in Monterey in June. I'm not going to be able to go because of my court schedule, darn it... Sunday I did this new Firm (well, new for me) Cardio Dance Slim down. It was really not very difficult and I didn't burn many calories, but it was sort of fun. My goal is going to try to get up in the mornings, or I won't be able to ever get a workout done. Golf is interferring. I'm determined to break 100 this year. I'm shooting better each time, so I just have to keep playing, right? (Jeanette, it is totally addicting)

Sorry to hear about your puppy dog. Isn't it funny how they bounce back so fast.

Well, better get going, too much work and not enough me.

Have a great day everyone!

Good Evening!:)

Wow! I am so impressed with CTX so far. Did the Power Express today -- tough workout, but wonderful and only 1 hour long, which is pretty good for me. Not sure what the workout is for tomorrow, but I'm looking forward to it.

Jeanette -- as soon as I post here, I'll go have a look at the fuller story -- but I'm sorry all that happened with your dog. Good that she's better. Our animals are family -- when something happens to them... What a trying experience it must've been, though -- and then to have the triathlon (my spelling isn't great) the next day.

Am glad that that was enjoyable, though. A good relief from the experience the previous night, huh?

Becky -- I can understand getting bored with the one body part a day -- although I so seldom do my exercise that way, that it'll be different for me with the CTX, I think. Yeah, June will be a big month. At least the end of all this study is close at hand.

Rhea -- That's so great about the golfing -- I imagine it is addicting -- bet it was pretty up your way, too, huh? By the way, What the Spy Glass? Did you go last year?

I may -- not sure yet -- but I may be up in Reno in June for a day to do a booksigning. Am not certain yet, as I have to see at this late date, if there's any openings at any of the stores for a booksigning. We'll see...

Am seriously dieting this week -- with some time off on weekends. My body is wanting to keep on water weight. Sigh...

Have a wonderful day, everyone and some terrific workouts!:7

Good morning,

Today was GS Back, then part of KPC Cardio Conditioning and then the stability ball abs from KPC. I plan on doing a hill climb bike ride tonite.

Yesterday, DH and I took the woodstove out of the house, went out to the woods with the dogs and relaxed. I also got the lawns mowed. Need to do some grocery shopping for this weekend's camping trip too.

Becky, how is your DH liking P90X? AbX is a great workout, gets boring when you do it so many times during P90X.

Rhea, hope you got up in time for a workout this morning. Monterey will be fun for your DH. Too bad you can't go.

Karen, glad you are enjoying CTX. Which one is on tap for today? Reno in June? Maybe we can hook up if schedules allow.

Thank you all for your concern for Tillie. She is doing well, what amazing animals they are. Probably so much harder on us humans.

Jeanette

Good morning!

Yipeee, I got up this morning and did P90 scuplt 1/2. I went to bed early last night, had a little help from a muscle relaxant,... okay and a glass of wine, woke up early, was able to lay there for a while and then get up. Couple more nights like that and I should be in pretty good shape. Have golf this evening with the ladies, so probably won't be in bed as early as I would ike, but we'll see.

Reno in June, cool. Hopefully schedules do allow a meet and maybe some shopping! I knew you would like the CTX series. I think that CTX will be in my future after doing the P90s for a while. I'm going to gradually add back up to the longer workouts in the a.m.

Jeanette - where are you camping this weekend? Sounds like fun. I think we may be at the lake for a little bit, at least Sat night to go out to the Galley to dance with the live band.

Becky, do you get a three day weekend or is it all study for you? Hope you get a little time off.

Well, got to prep for the next hearing. Talk to you later. Have a great day.

Good Evening!:)

The CTX series are great! It was 10-10-10 today. I see what you mean, Jeanette, about the short segments that can fit in anywhere -- or you can just do them as-is. Tomorrow is Step & Intervals. I am really enjoying them. Interesting how young Cathe looks in them -- but she's in top form and makes some cute comments, as well. :)

Jeanette -- love KPC -- and that cardio mix is really a good one -- also like the abs, although I'm not good with planks. I did go and read the Xers about your trauma with your dog. Am so glad that it all worked out. Think you made the right choice about your niece, etc. Sometimes, however, I think it wise to air these things so that other problems that might come up later don't attach themselves to the original thing that was never talked about, if you know what I mean. Perhaps a simple chat about it so that your viewpoint is at least heard.

Rhea -- I admire so much that you got up and got the exercise in. Think you nailed it by going to bed early -- something I need to get in and keep in. How was the golfing tonight?

Becky -- Hope that studying is going great!

No info yet on Reno in June -- but I'm going to try -- would only be there for a day -- as I have to fit it in around another trip to Las Vegas that same week. I will definitely let you know -- it would be great to see you both again, if possible.

Oh, lost 1/2 pound yesterday -- I do have to take off some of the weight I've put on -- I need to be able to fit into my summer clothes. Sigh...

Have a super day tomorrow and some terrific workouts!:7

Hi,
Today called for GS Legs, but I did the floorwork only from GS Legs and then the leg/bun exercises from Squeeze. Didn't get my bike ride in yesterday after work as the wind was blowing and it was cooler. Will do a hill climb ride tonite.

Yesterday, my niece and her DH came over to see how Tillie was doing. She's the one with the border collie that bit Tillie's eye. They offered to pay. We're going to let it go as we got to have our say with them about the dog, believe they realize that the dog and it's actions are their responsibility. That's done.

Rhea, how was golf last night? It was cooler out all day and when it's like that, I dislike getting out into it for some reason. We are camping in the Hog Flat area. It's so dry, usually we can't get in there until 4th of July. Have fun kicking up your heels at the Galley!

Karen, good advice about needing to talk to my niece about what happened. Worked out that they came over to our house so all was said. Glad you are enjoying CTX. 10-10-10 is a good one and so is Step & Intervals, heck, they are all good little intense segments. I'm happy that you like them.

Got to go,

Jeanette

Hello!

Golf was cold last night. I'm sure hoping that the wind stops soon. It just is not warm enough to have that "breeze." Hope there is no or little wind tonight for your hill climb ride tonight Jeanette.

Well, no workout yet. Didn't sleep well last night (brain wouldn't shush last night) so later today hopefully. I'm thinking a good sweaty cardio would feel great.

Have a great day everyone!

Hi ladies.

I thought I posted yesterday, but I guess I didn't. Anyway, yesterday I did about 50 minutes on the treadmill while reading. Today I did ME.

DH is having a rough go of it. He has a history of migraines (brought on by tension headaches) and they seem to be sticking around lately. I think he may have lifted wrong last week and done something to his neck muscles. He tried Chest and Back on Monday but it really screwed him up. He is taking this week off of P90x and is going to start up again next week. He did do most of ME w/ me today. He kept making goofy comments in a funny voice this AM while doing ME about how it wasn't "extreme" enough for him. :) I am letting him be, and am happy he is making the effort. Hopefully he'll be better for next week.

We just got new insurance through his work and I need to look into whether they cover massages. He could sure use some.

Anyway, must get back to studying. Only 2 more weeks of madness.

Oh, it looks like my med school GPA is 3.9. It will be finalized on Friday. We don't get letter grades in the clinical years...just honors, pass, or fail...so GPA is calculated from the 2 didactic years. I am pretty psyched about that!!!
