KK's May Check In

Good Evening!:)

Well, got alot done today, but can you believe -- I just turned in that book and already -- only 3 weeks later -- I have revisions? I'm used to having about 2 months lag between turning in a book and having revisions. Oh, well. Will need to try to get them in before the tour -- in only 2 weeks. Geez!

Step and Intervals today. What a great workout. I'm loving the CTX. Really loving it -- and it sure makes your rotation schedule easy...

Jeanette -- that's wonderful that you were able to talk it out with your niece. Yeah, things like that -- always better to get them out in the open. It avoids blow-ups later, I think. That's great that they offered to pay. Doesn't it make you feel good?

Both you and Rhea were not happy with the wind and how cool it was -- hope that gets better for you.

Rhea -- I get like that sometimes, too -- mind just won't turn off -- usually I have to get up -- make some notes about whatever it is -- and then try to sleep again. Sometimes it works...and then sometimes not. Have you tried fairy tales? I know it sounds ridiculous, but it works for me.

Becky -- GPA is 3.9 -- that's incredible, isn't it? Isn't the high something like 4.0? That's just super -- really super. Geez, sorry to hear your hubby has those headaches. Yeah, it could be that a massage would be just the ticket. I know that I have injured myself doing workouts -- it's why I stick with Cathe so much -- she talks so much form and stresses it so thoroughly that I tend to not injure myself so much. I'm not all that flexible and so I have to watch it a bit.

But don't you just love ME?

Jeanette and Rhea -- Okay, so I am coming to Reno for a day in June -- the booksigning will be June 23rd -- Saturday -- at Sundance Bookstore -- it's on 4th Street -- 1155 W. 4th St. -- at 3PM. It would be great to see you, but don't feel obligated. Saturday is always a big day with family and such, so...just don't feel obligated...but it would be great.

Okay, I've gone on and on, better get to getting ready for bed. Have a super day tomorrow and great workouts!:7

Good morning,

Today was GS Shoulders, also about 35 minutes of Christi Taylor's Solid Gold Cardio and then abs from BM2. Got my climbing bike ride in yesterday, and the conditions were just right, not much wind at all. I really got my heart rate up there on the final climb to the top. Recovered quickly at the top so went down the back side of Eagle Lake Summit to the 1st hard turn and then climbed back up the steep part. Good leg workout, and along with my GS Legs floorwork and Squeeze in the morning, I was toasty.

Started working on packing the trailer but found we have an electrical problem in the trailer so DH will have one of his electrical friends come and check it out today after work. Hope they get it fixed.

Rhea, hope the sleep was good for you last night. Hate it when my brain won't turn off. Also hate it when it doesn't turn on either LOL! Did you get a workout in? Did you golf last night? It was a great evening.

Becky, you are getting awesome grades and that GPA is over the top! You've worked so hard. Hats off to you! Hope your DH's headaches and neck aches go away soon.

Karen, so glad you are enjoying CTX. Yes, it was good that they offered to pay, though reluctantly, they still didn't want to think they were totally responsible for what happened, as they made the comments that their dog was just defending it's territory. BULL! They did change their tune after a while. Oh well. At least they came over. June 23rd is the date of my nephew's wedding and I will be traveling down to Atascadero for that. Too bad, I sure would have liked to have come over to Reno, but maybe Rhea will be able to. I'm thinking the one body part rotation with CTX will be good for you to shake things up. How is the weight loss going?

Must go, will be busy after work today with packing for our trip tomorrow.

Jeanette

Good Evening!:)

Wow! You're right about the CTX shaking things up a bit -- I've been doing the same sort of rotation for a while now -- and this is really rocking and rolling. My entire upper body is pretty sore. Today was All Step -- which was my first Cathe workout ever. And this is only the 2nd time I've ever done it. Lots of steps in there from other routines and so it was pretty easy to learn, but still challenging.

Tomorrow is the Leg workout -- forget what it's called.

Your workout yesterday, Jeanette sounds like it was intense -- but beautiful. I can imagine your legs being toasty afterward.

Where are you going for Memorial Day this year? Hope the electrical gets fixed, as well. We have Grandfather George staying with us in our motor home at present -- so we don't take it out at all. But it's great having Grandfather George with us.

Rhea -- hope you're able to work things out to get the sleep you need and work out (and play golf, of course).

Becky -- figure you're probably studying like mad, but again, so well done on your scores.

Jeanette -- darn would have loved to see you, but it is rather last minute. I'll enjoy being back in Reno, though, I think.

Well, my Memorial Day will be spent working -- I now have only a week and a half to somehow get these revisions done. Sigh...

Since I don't usually see you, Jeanette, or you, Rhea, over the weekend, let me wish you much, much joy and fun this coming Memorial Day weekend. Have a wonderful holiday to you all!:7

Good morning!

Didn't get to post yesterday because I ran away to Redding with Dh and a group of kids for a field trip to Turtle Bay. I had never been there and didn't know what exactly we were doing. DH didn't know either since it was a last minute request for him to accompany the group. Turns out that the exhibit they went to see was the artifacts from the Titanic. It was really cool. Old luggage, china, window coverings, pieces of the hull, money, tickets. They even had a piece of an iceberg so you could see how cold the ice was and then they explained that the water was actually colder than the iceberg because salt water freezes at a colder temperature than fresh water.

Now I was a good girl and did my workout before I left. P90 sculpt. Ate very badly yesterday.....:(

Today I have planned P90 sweat and it will be a weekend of meal planning and getting on track with the clean eating for the next month. That is my goal.

Well, hope you have a great weekend. Since my computer is working a bit better at home I may be able to pop in and post.

Good Evening!:)

Wow, Rhea, that trip sounds fascinating. A piece of an iceburg. How cool is that? Interesting stuff.

Great on getting in a workout before you left.

Let's see, it was Leaner Legs for me today -- tough, tough leg workout -- from CTX and tomorrow is the last of the CTX series -- a kickbox workout. This one body part a day is really challenging my muscles.

Went to see the Bill Maher show tonight -- interesting show -- my hero, Ron Paul, was a guest. It's only the second time I've been to a studio show -- almost never go into Hollywood area unless I have business there or something. But it was interesting and fun.

Figure Jeanette is off having a great time Memorial Day weekend and Becky is probably studying away for her June -- can't recall the name of it -- boards? Hope you're having a terrific weekend, too, Rhea.

I'll be working all weekend on my revisions. Deep sigh...

Have a great one!:7

Quick Post to just go over what's planned for this week. I think I'm going to alternate weeks -- one week of my own rotations (which I've been doing for a couple of years now -- and never seem to tire of) and one week of CTX -- that really challenged me this week. We'll see. I start on tour in about a week ( and have this new deadline from my publisher -- only a week to do some revisions ) -- so I may have to opt for shorter workouts, but we'll see... Here's the plan for this week:

Mon: IMAX2

Tues: ME

Wed: IMAX3 -- 8 rotation

Thurs: Supersets

Fri: Cardio & Stretch

Sat: Bootcamp

Sun: Off

Hubby and I biked for about an hour today. : )

Have a super holiday!:7

Good Evening!:)

Boy, my legs were fried today after having done a bike ride with my hubby yesterday (for an hour). And tomorrow is ME -- hopefully, I'll be back in form for that tomorrow.

I'm putting off starting these revisions -- I hate when I do this -- but I tore my one of my favorite workout pants and so had to go and buy some new -- and I'm picky -- took me a few hours to find something I like and then it was at Macy's on sale -- so a $50.00 pair of workout pants cost me about $16.00. Not bad...

Hope everyone's holiday was great. I'm off to try to make myself start these revisions.

Have a super day.:7

Good morning,

Back from Memorial Day camping weekend. Had a good ride over in Greenville for the Indian Valley Bike Ride. Did the metric, 68 miles. Had a good time, then back to the camping trip. We did lots of Rhino riding, played horseshoes, visited, etc. Very dusty and dirty, but a fun trip. Came home to a bad smell in the house. Refrigerator went out while we were gone, everything spoiled. Compressor is still running, so will call repairman today.

Today was about 25 minutes of Cardio Fusion, floorwork from B&G and then stability ball work from B&G. Have a hill climb competition on Thursday so don't want to get my legs too sore.

Karen, glad you are liking CTX. Hope you got to those revisions.

Rhea, I've heard good things about Turtle Bay. Will have to go sometime. I ate badly also all weekend. Have to do better this week.

Jeanette

Good morning!

Busy weekend. Not much dvd workouts though. Friday fell through, ran out of time. Saw Pirates 3 though, that was a pretty good movie. Didn't really like the ending, but oh well. Saturday was P90 sweat and lots of gardening. Sunday was 20 holes of golf (we golfed a few extra), and then getting wood with DH in the afternoon. That was very tiring. I figured that was enough workout for the day. Yesterday I spent in the kitchen, darn it. Made 20 freezer dinners, so all I have to do is pull them out the night before, defrost and then cook the next day. I can't believe how long it took to put them all together.

Today was weigh in day and I'm going to be definately eating much better and putting in the exercise. Weight is up way too high. So today will be P90 sculpt and then golfing with the ladies tonight.
I'm going to start adding some walking or some jogging for a while, need to get the steady state cardio in. I'd like to test what that type of exercise does.....

Well, have a great day.

Good Evening!:)

Well, I got alot done today with my revisions, but outside of a 40 minute bike ride, there was no exercise. Before I knew it, it was 5:30 PM and it wasn't until then that I realized I hadn't exercised. But I'm almost 1/2 done with the revisions, so I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on it and I'm not quite so frantic about getting it done before the tour.

Jeanette -- 68 miles over the weekend, plus, plus. What a hassel, though to come home and find out that your food was spoiled. Not fun. Did you find out what happened? Is it going to be fixable or do you have to get an entirely new frig?

Your workouts look good, Jeanette.

Rhea -- you saw Pirates 3, huh? Was it a bad ending? I know I shouldn't but whenever I read a book, I usually read a little of the end first, figuring that if I'm going to invest all that time in something, I want to know it's going to turn out well. And 20 frozen dinners. Wow! And I like kitchen work as a rule.

I bet it did take quite a while to fix them. It also looks like you're back on track with your workouts. I, too, ate a little too much and ended up gaining back the weight I'd lost.x( So I'm back to dieting like made in order to fit into my clothes. Deep sigh.

Becky -- June is coming up here fast. Bet you're studying.

Well, tomorrow, I'll start with the workout that I didn't do today -- I just have to work out first thing in the morning -- otherwise, when I'm really working, time seems to fly by really, really fast.

Have a super day today and some really wonderful workouts!

Good morning,
Today was S&H Triceps and about 35 minutes of Christi Taylor's Hi-Lo Heaven. Got in an easy bike spin yesterday after work. When I got back, DH had started removing the rock from the wall in the living room with an air hammer. Lots of dust all over everything. Will be that way for a while I suppose. Glad we're getting this project started. I then spent the rest of the evening wheeling the rock outside to a pile to be used in an outdoor project.

Also, called the repairman and thankfully, the problem was just a relay that had gone out on the fridge. He replaced it and the cost was around $90. Better than buying a new fridge. I moved the food from the camp trailer and ice chests back into the house. Busy, busy. Today I need to call a vet to have the stitches removed from Tillie's eye socket. DH tried to take them out last night, but she wouldn't hold still for him.

Rhea, sounds like you had a busy weekend. Woodcutting already? Good for you. I bet they close the woods soon. We will probably procrastinate and have to scramble later in the year. We really need to get this tile in the living room and install the new woodstove.

Karen, glad you are tackling those revisions and will be done soon. Hope you enjoy your workout today. I enjoyed Christi today. She's a fabulous cuer and it's more interesting than Cathe's stuff, not as intense, but that makes it more fun for me as I'm kind of lazy that way.

Got to run,

Jeanette

Good morning!

Yep, woodcutting. DH is such a maniac sometimes. He wants to try and get all his wood done before school gets out. At least I don't have to go everytime.

Glad only a relay switch in the fridge. The new fridges are so expensive, but I do have my eye on one. I'll have to wait a few more years or get mine to break...lol

I broke down and got some of Christi' Taylors workouts. I need some more non-step ones. Plus I'm investigating some ipod workouts so that I can get outdoors for some walking or some walk/job/pretend to run.

Karen - glad you are almost done with the revisions. Such a lot of work for a book.

Well, yesterday I did P90 sculpt and then went out and golf nine holes with the ladies. It was such a beautiful evening. Just a little breeze which was very welcome because it was rather warm. Such a 180 degree difference from last week when we froze our tushies off!

Okay, back to work. Talk to you later.

Good Evening!:)

It was Cardio & Weights for me today -- supposed to be ME, but I already had Cardio & Weights out -- so just did that one. Really like that workout.

Didn't get as much work done today on the revisions, but only cause I forgot that I had a lecture thing tonight that I had to get ready for so had to end early. Hopefully I'll get these done on Friday -- or maybe even tomorrow. The good part is that I can see getting them done BEFORE the tour.

Jeanette -- Is Christi Taylor non-step? I know you've raved about her in the past -- I think I need some workouts for those days when intensity just doesn't seem like the right ticket. Really glad that the frig was not a major problem. Deep breath. And the rock. Did I miss something? Is this for the woodstove? Must admit that I love the result of remodeling, but I'm not crazy about the process of getting there...

Rhea -- woodcutting sounds like a little too much work for me right now. Of course it's late and I'm tried... Might make a difference. Golf sounds relaxing and fun -- expecially with friends. The courses are so beautiful.

Hmmm... Tomorrow is supposed to be IMAX3 -- hope I'll feel up to it -- am so tired right now. Got home late from the lecture thing and I still have some stuff to do before bed.

So have a super day and some terrific workouts! (And I'm gonna go get some sleep.):7

Morning,

Today I overslept a little bit. Did S&H Chest, with supermans and planks, and abs. Tonite is our club's hill climb competition. Looking to be warm, but hey, I'll do what I have to do. Also need to acclimate to the heat anyway for our century ride coming up on June 16th.

Rhea, I hope you like Christi Taylor. I really like the way she puts the routines together. Her hi-lo is fun, but never so intense that I dread it. Glad you got the golf in on Tuesday. Sounds like so much fun and a social event too! Wonder where the fire was last night, looked like out on the Janesville end of A-3. Seems like they knocked it down pretty quickly. Got a few raindrops here.

Karen, you sounded pretty tired last night. Hoping you got a very restful sleep and up and at em this morning. Christi does have non-step workout. Her "Fantastic 4" series has 2 hi-lo and 2 step routines. Well worth the price. Cardio Collectibles has some hi-lo also. I think they are a lot of fun and keep your mind going. She's more complex than Cathe, but once you get used to her way of cueing, I think she's fantastic.

Got to go now, good workouts today!

Jeanette

Good morning!

No workout for me yesterday, but I did manage to get in 18 holes of golf. I then was up and at 'em at 5:00 this morning...got in the P90 sweat 1/2 (the cardio one) got my chores done fast and breakfast, so I could get here at work closer to 7 a.m.l I'm going to try and work like 7-3pm so I can golf in the afternoon. Of course, all I've managed this morning is spending money on the internet, but I did order Tony Horton's Power 1/2 hour. I think those would be good for my morning workouts for the summer. On the weekends, I probably can add the longer workouts if I want to. Well, when I get the Christi workouts, I'm going to have to squeeze them in some how. I can't have new workouts on the shelf without trying them.

Well, better run and get some of the work done that I planned to do!

Good Evening!:)

Goodness, but things are busy for me. Today it was IMAX3 -- 8 intervals -- I sure like interval 10. Tomorrow is cardio and stretch. And my tour starts this Sat. -- believe it or not, I hadn't really realized this -- I've been thinking June 5th. So I'm not that prepared.

Plus, am trying to get these edits done before the tour. Tough. Tough. But I'm hoping to make it.

Jeanette -- hope your hill climb tonight was fun. Christi sounds wonderful -- a good change of pace. Yeah, I was really tired last night, but I slept well, so maybe it was good. Next week I may go back to CTX -- since they are all at or under an hour -- and it really did give me a kick.

Rhea -- 18 holes of golf. Wow! Bet it was pretty. Your schedule sounds great, as well. I'll be looking for your posts on Christi and Tony Horton. How's the diet coming?

Personally, the weight is coming off very slowly for me -- I'm afraid I didn't take off all I needed to to make my clothes fit well. Hopefully that won't make too much of a difference, though.

Well, gotta get back to work. I really do have to get these revisions done and sent off tomorrow. Too bad -- I thought I had an extra day and don't. Well, have a super day, everyone and some great workouts.

It's possible that my posts might be a little off due to the tour -- but at least I'm touring from home this year so it won't be the constant stress of being on the road. Have a great one.:7
