KK's August Check In

Netta

Cathlete
Hi all,
I forgot to check in this morning. I did Amy Bento's ASC Step workout, 1st 2 combos repeated twice. After that, I did S&H abs. Tonite was Cardio Coach #8 on my bike. Great workout!

Karen, to get the fonts and such, go to your User CP (upper left side) and then select "Edit Options", then scroll down to the bottom and in the Miscellaneous Options, select from the drop down menu: Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing. Then save. That will enable you to select bolding, colors, etc., kind of like Microsoft Word. If you have problems, just let me know and maybe I can be more clear.

Hi Janie, hope your day was good today.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. I'm planning on starting Cathe's August Rotation on Tuesday as Monday is my rest day.

Jeanette:eek:

Hi ladies,

Jeanette, Cathe's Aug. Rotation looks fantastic. Enjoy your workouts.

Karen, Rhea and the newbies, hope things are fine and you have a great workout days this month.

I'm taking it nice and easy for 5 more weeks, then watch out muscles, here I come.

My daughter and grandson will visit today. Can't Wait!

Take care everyone,

Janie

Found it!! Okay, um I think treadmill for me. Three more weeks, with doctor approval. Although I did the three show shopping this morning and I count that as some exercise!!
Mandy

Mandy,

So glad you found it. Welcome aboard! (again). 3 more weeks for you, that's great.

Can't wait to see my doctor on Tuesday. I'd like to find out what happens next. I'm sure now that I lost my nipple, I'm just afraid of infection. Tuesday will be here soon, I know.

Janie

Howdy!

Good morning! : )

I finally have my own computer up and running in my new little apartment -- it took a while to get the phone line hooked up here for some reason. It's great though -- now I don't have to count on the library -- which was closed on Friday, so I couldn't post at all.

Jeanette, thanks so much for the info. It does sound complex but as soon as I have a moment, I'm going to check into that. I like the colors. With my little dial-up here at home, however, I might be stuck for a while with black. Am really interested in Amy Bento and in what is the other person's name -- Christi -- I was looking at Christi's workouts and they look fun -- like fun music.

Janie, if you are worried about infection, you might think about going to the health food store and picking up some colostrum. Colostrum is a mammal's first milk and is filled with immune boosting properties -- whicih would help your body to fight infection. There was a theory around the time of Pasteur -- another scientist whose theory was in conflict with Pasteur. Anyway, his theory was that infection didn't matter as much as having a strong immune system. That the immune system was "king" and that if one had a strong immune system, it would fight off infection of almost any kind. On Pasteur's deathbed, he made a confession, or statement to the effect that this other guy was right and that he was wrong. Interesting stuff. However, you might just pick up some colostrum and ask your health food store person about it. : )

Hope that doctor's appointment goes well.

Atremo11 -- Hi! Okay, so I'm not sure what you have going on that you are awaiting doctor's appoval. Hope all lis okay with you. And you have a treadmill -- wonderful things.

Okay, you know, it seems like the only way I'm going to lose the remaining few pounds that I put on when my hand was broken is to work in another workout shortly before going to bed. How I loved being able to drop that out -- but it really does seem to take off the weight. I'm in an upper apartment, however, and so will have to work with out with those below me for now.

Anyway, have a super rest of the weekend, everyone. Hi Rhea! Hope to see you back here soon. : )

What that should have said was I took my three shoe shopping for cardio yesterday! I also go three mi on the treadmill yesterday and today.
Janie,
Did the PS give you any antibiotics? I had to take a Z pack after surgery...and vitamin C to help boost my immune system. Hope everything else is going well in your recovery. I am still in the binder, uh!

Tomorrow, my three year old starts preschool and my kindergartener gets to meet his teacher at nine, so I am sure it will be hectic and a lot of it will be spent in the car!

Hope everybody has had a great weekend!!
Mandy

Morning,
Stretching for me this morning. Feeling much better now.

Karen, hope you get the colors, fonts figured out. If not, there is a thread on the Open Discussion about it too, with instructions. Hope the hand is feeling better. Darn on the double workouts.

Mandy, hi! Glad to have you here. Did you have surgery recently and are recovering?

Janie, hope the doctor's appointment goes well for you tomorrow. You have the best attitude, I so admire you!

Hi Rhea,

Jeanette

Good morning!

Just a fast Hi and it is back to the grindstone here at work. It is always so busy after being gone. I worked all last week on my darn floors. But they are done. I only have some caulking and painting to touch up on the baseboards and door trims. However, I'll be taking my time on that since this month is jammed packed with trials and moving my DH to Foster City.

I got in a workout yesterday, I did Still Jumpin. It was different to do a workout on a hardwood floor. I could actually turn better, but I might have to put a mat under my step when I do step workouts. That will be interesting. I can just see the step shooting across the floor. lol.

Well, got to run. Hi to everyone, welcome Mandy! Talk to you later.

Yes, recovering from an abdominoplasty. Three babies in five years, and one that was 8 pounds and 22 inches long completely tore every muscle in my abdomen and left me with a lot of extra skin that needed to be removed. But, I am recovering nicely now and so looking forward to real exercise again!
Am about to go get my 3 year old from her 1 st day of preschool!! Hope to hit the treadmill later.
Have a great Monday!
Mandy

Good Afternoon!

Feels good to have my computer back online, although I'm at the library right now. Huh...

It was IMAX2 for me this morning, but only 8 intervals. I skipped interval 6 and 9 -- my least favorite. But it was good. Also went to a chiro for my hand -- time to get it working better again. Have a massage scheduled now for Friday -- I'm wondering if I've ever had a massage before -- maybe once. Am looking forward to it. But the hand needs some work -- it's still very swollen and stiff -- the chiro says there are some calcium deposits there now. Darn...

Mandy, so nice to have you here. An 8 pound baby is really something. Three in 5 years. Wow! At least the kids will have sisters or brothers to grow up with. What is 3 shoe shopping, by the way? Hope the recovery goes really well. I'm sure it will

Jeanette, you said you're better now. I feel so out of it. Did you have something happening? Am so glad that you're better now. I love the stretching, that's for sure.

Rhea, great to see you here and hear what you've been up to. Hardwood floors. Again, I am continually amazed at what work you can get done in your home. You and Jeanette are so inspiring with this sort of thing. I'm working out on a rug on tile -- and it slips from beneath me so I loved the image of the step careening off from under you.

Janie, you might even be at the doctor's right now. Hope all is going well. But Jeanette is right -- what you are doing and your attitude is so admirable.

Am just going to post a quick idea of what sort of schedule I hope to keep this week.

Mon: IMAX3
Tues: ME -- express workout
Wed: Some cardio & stretch
Thurs: Cardio & Weights
Fri: Bootcamp -4DS -- cardio only
Sat: Bootcamp -- Intensity series.

That's what I hope to achieve -- not sure I'll do it all. Busy month. Am putting more time on course in an attempt to get done faster. Have a super day, everyone!

Sorry, I type in a hurry. On Saturday I took all three of my children to buy new shoes. I don't always read before I post!!
Mandy

Hey I actually am going to be able to work out twice today! whoo hooo, those pounds that have crept on are going to get off.....

I did 4DS, LIS cardio only today at lunch. I didn't have to put the mat under the step, no slippage. I'm going to pop in one of my new 10 minute workouts and try them out. Tomorrow morning the goal is to get the fanny out of bed early and do another 10 minute workout or if I feel rambuncious, a turbo jam.

Have a great evening everyone! I'm off to the living room. :)

Good evening,

Karen, I'm so glad you are settled in your apartment. Thank you for the infection advice, I'll look into that. I had one message in my lifetime, and it was like heaven. It hurt so good sometimes! LOL What are calcium deposits? That doesn't sound good at all. Hey, your workouts look great for the week.

Mandy, I think I got a shot of antibiotics while in surgery, and I'm rubbing an antibiotic cream on my nibble. Sorry you are still in the binder. Yucky stuff, this recovery thing. Hope preschool and kindergarten will be good to you.

Jeanette, stretching I think is key. Attitude? Perhaps, but yesterday I was depressed; today was a better day though. Wish I was as strong as you all think I am.

Rhea, I bet your floors are amazing! I'm not familiar with "Still Jumpin", I'll have to look that up. Glad you didn't have to put a mat under your stepper and also glad you didn't go flying across the room, or was that the stepper flying across the room? LOL Good luck with your double workouts. WOW! You are impressive as usual.

Today was grocery shopping at Costco, by the time I got to the car my legs and butt were fried! It was a great workout for me. When we got home I watched a movie with lots of water.

Tomorrow is my appt. with my PS. I'll tell you all about it when I get home.

You guys are awesome! Have a great evening.

Janie

Morning,
Today was the first day of Cathe's August rotation. I did BM2 all cardio timesaver, with a stretch at the end. Tonite is the ladies bike ride.

Janie, hoping the appointment goes well for you today ((hugs))). I know shopping tires me out for some reason. I think it's the starting, stopping and standing around. I get so sore from that.

Rhea, nice job on the workouts. Been golfing? I have a lesson again on Friday with the pro, Ron Serna. I took one from him a couple weeks ago, he's great.

Mandy, now I see why you are recovering. Bet your kids keep you on your toes too.

Karen, sorry about the hand being uncooperative. Just slower in healing at our age, I guess. But at least it is healing. Have fun with your workouts. Looks fairly intense!

Great workouts everyone,

Jeanette

Good morning!

Yippee....second day of getting up early. Well, no choice, the cat wouldn't let me sleep in at all, she was very instant and knew I was supposed to get up. No workout this am, just early birding it for a while. Then I will add the morning routine. I might try to squeeze in a workout at lunch and the a shorter one before dinner, but that will depend on the morning court. If it lasts foooooorever.....like it usually does, then I won't get out in time to run home and workout.

Well, back to work. Have a great day everyone!

Oh, Jeanette....no golfing for me lately. Haven't had any time. I may not even get to golf the rest of the year. Too much packing, moving, working and classes in August and September.

Good Evening!

It was ME express for me today -- that's still a doosy of a workout -- even as an express, I think it's right around an hour or so. Was intense for me cause I'm kinda out of shape after being so long without upper body with the hand. But good.

Put in more class time today -- am working up to 7-8 hours a day -- it's just that I took Georgie in yesterday to be fixed and to get a rabies shot and so I'm spending a little extra time with him. I so love that cat.

Mandy, thanks so much for clearing that up. : ) Sometimes I get lost in abbreviations. : ) Hope the recovery is going well, also. Aren't the kids going back to school a little early? Seems to me that we went back to school at the end of August or some such. But then each area of the country is different.

Rhea, aren't cats funny? We have a cat that "herds" us to bed. She rounds us up like cattle at night and complains until we hop into bed. That's great about the 2 workouts -- I haven't done that yet cause there are people under me who seem to hear my every footfall -- but I do remember that doing that extra workout before bed really made a difference with my weight -- hard as it was. Actually once you get into it, it's not that bad. Hope your court date cooperates.

Jeanette, I've done that BM2 all cardio and I really liked it. I often do the cardio from BM2, but usually I just flip in the DVD and play it from the beginning. How was the bike ride? Here in Florida, I'm often seeing bikers and every time I do, it reminds me of you.

Janie, I think everything, grocery shopping and all kinds of other things, are difficult when one is recovering -- especially a post operation. The fact that both you and Mandy are out there despite it all really says alot. It isn't that easy. It isn't how great one feels about it, it's the fact that you do it anyway, seems to me.

We're having a storm here -- I kinda like it. Lightning and thunder -- something we don't get much of in the LA area.

Have a super day tomorrow, everyone! : ) I'll be thinking of you, Janie.

One more thing. You all have pictures on your posts. I haven't figured out how to do that. Are there instructions anywhere? Thanks.

Good morning,
Today was PUB up premix. Tonite is golf with a girlfriend. Looking forward to that. Last night I did a hill climb with a couple friends.

Karen, 7-8 hours of school a day would be tough for me. All that concentration. To add an Avatar picture to your posts, go to User CP (top left), then Settings & Options, then Edit Avatar (doing this from memory). I just uploaded a picture from my computer, didn't need to go thru Picture Trail. We had some thunderstorms last night, haven't heard if there were any fires. Hope not. It's nice and cloudy this morning. Like it.

Rhea, sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now. My dogs got in the habit for a while of getting me up at 2 a.m. to let them out. Glad we're past that.

Janie, how was the dr. appointment?

Hi Mandy,

Good morning!

Yesterday I got to run home at lunch time and I did Turbo Jam 20 minutes; in the evening I tacked on Tony Horton's 10 minute upper body and then the 10 minute abs. I'm going to have to work my way up on the Ab one, yikes....lots of planks and different exercises. My abs are definately out of shape. My shoulder did not like it too much either. I really have to get it stronger so that it will not be bothered doing simple planks.

Not sure what I will plunge in with today. I was thinking Cardio Collectibles, but I'm not sure that I will be up to it after almost three weeks off from working out.

I'll be gone tomorrow through Sunday, moving DH's stuff to Foster City. So no workouts, well, maybe I could do something on Friday in the apartment gym......

Have a great weekend!

Good Morniing!

Well, I think trying to upload a picture using my little laptop dial up is a bit much for it -- I sat here trying to do it for a while and I think I might have to go to the library to do it, but I'll keep trying.

Jeanette, looks like you are doing well. Was something wrong a little while ago -- I know you said you had recovered? Thanks for the info -- like I said, I'll keep trying.

Rhea, we will miss you while you're gone. Great on your workouts. Have fun over the weekend. A nice long one.

Janie, hope all is going well with you today. I'm thinking about you.

Mandy, hi! Hope you and the kids are doing well.

It was cardio only from 4DS -- HIS for me today -- a short workout, but I wanted to get some other things done this morning and so I made it short.

Georgie is doing better, thank goodness.

Have a super day!
