Kinda sad :(

Hi Everyone,

I am sorry to bring a bit of blue to the new year, but I'm in the dumps! Actually, I've taken up residence here I've been here so long. Part of it is my work environment sucks and hasn't improved (it progressed to an EEO situation after Thanksgiving because I finally had all I was taking). Second, my father's PSA level has jumped to 19.6 and they think his prostate cancer is in his gut now, or his pelvic bones; my daughter moved out after Thanksgiving, still doesn't have her GED and now has a lip ring (which I fantasize about pulling out), and I've been billed for all of the gear she didn't turn in when she did not return to the Challenge Academy. I have steadily been gaining weight and have literally NO - NONE - ZILCHO desire to workout (I'm sitting here in a size 16 when I used to wear a loose size 10) and I have a chronic shin splint in my left leg. It was horrible at first - so bad I had knots on the top of my shin - now it's healed a bit and I can make it through my day without even noticing it sometimes, but then if I even WALK on the treadmill - SCREEEEEEEECH back it comes! To top things off, my sweet kitty Boogie Woogie Woo Woo went out this morning and I forgot he was out there. He spent the day outside and has yet to return. He's declawed and only goes out for a few minutes at a time and then runs back in. I'm super worried that he's met his demise or has wandered too far from home to remember his way back and it's pouring the rain down and is supposed to get super cold..... :(

Pass the Oreos pleaseeeeeeee.

:( waaaaaaaaaaa!

Hey - Vodka and oreos - the breakfast of champions.

Reese -

I so feel your pain. I was in a similar funk only a few days ago.

I'm sorry your Dad is ill and your child seems to be in a permanent rectal/cranial position (I think that is proper posture for teenagers).

If I can only offer one bit of comfort, it is about your kitty - he is probably very close-by but very well hidden. When indoor cats go out, they tend to stay very close to home.

If it's not too cold out where you are, later tonight after the neighborhood has gone to 'sleep', if you sit out side very still and call his name softly, he will come to you. I promise.

I did this with my adopted feral cat and it took awhile, but she came back!

The second time she got out, I rented a Have-a-Heart trap, hung a juicy piece of ham from the top of it with a clothes-pin and captured her within a couple of hours.

Good Luck!

Does that help maybe? Just a little bit?

Susan - you were right. I decided now that I'm hoarse from calling his rotten little @$$ to go out and open some soft food (his favorite) in the hopes that the sound of the can opening would draw him to me. I called him before I opened it and he came running around our front flower beds meowing loudly (telling me about his day).

He has some explaining to do (looks worn out!).....

so glad to hear your kitty made it home safe and sound!

Keep your chin up...tomorrow's a new day with bright and endless possibilities!;) I have a few of my own difficulties going on in my life right now and my mantra is, May today be the day that something changes. I'm hoping one day it will be so!

I have a feeling this is going to be a fantastic year so hold tight. I am soooo happy your kitty (and my kitty, too).

But what is up with all our cats disappearing? I'm still praying hard for little Jasmin, Jasmin416s missing kitten.

Step away from the oreos!!! :p

When it rains, it just pours sometimes. I don't have any great advice to offer, but sending some positive vibes your way. :)

Reese, I don't know what to say, but I will surely keep you and yours in my thoughts and prayers. I'm so glad your kitty came home.

((Reese))

Here's a quote I often think of when my day (week, month, etc.) isn't what I wanted it to be:

"Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I'll try again tomorrow. "

— Mary Anne Radmacher

Hang in there. And I'm so glad your kitty is home.
