Killer recipe - "Fry Salad"

I found this on YouTube ( don't ask how ) and tried it ! SOOO GOOOD. I've been eating this for supper just about every night because I lilterally crave it.
It's semi filled with good for you foods. I state 'semi' becuase it calls for frozen sweet potato fries. If your diet does not leave room for frozen foods ( which can be filled with sodium ) making your own sweet potato fries is also an option.
Here goes:

* Your choice of salad( I use pre-packaged '7 leaf salad' )
* Slivered almonds
* Feta cheese
* Chopped red onion ( I use organic red onion )
* Kashi Go Lean cereal ( I use Honey & Oat Kashi cereal)
* sweet potato fries fresh from oven ( I use Schwanz frozen Sweet Pot. fries )
* Your choice of dressing ( I use rasberry/peacon vinegrette )

Salad:

Fill your plate with generaous amount of lettus. Top with feta cheese, almonds, Kashi cereal ,and onions. Add your oven baked sweet potato fries. Add your dressing and presto,,,, Best salad ever !

When I saw this I thought : " Sweet Potato Fries ? " BUT after trying it , I thought, "Now why didn't I think of that" Finally a salad I crave ! I think the Kashi Cereal is an awesome option in place of croutons ,which can also be loaded with fat. When I find stuff like this,, I can't help but share. Hope you enjoy !

RASPBERRY/PEACON VINAIGRETTE?? :eek: I have never heard of that dressing b4! I love the Vinaigrette dressings, I will def have to try that!
the whole recipe sounds amazing.......

Morgs, I saw a video of this recipe- and the guy who posted it. He also posted a hilarious video about twinkies!:D Did you see it?

This salad recipe does sound delish! I'm going to try it. :)
Trader Joe's sells fresh cut raw sweet potato fries ready for your own seasonings.

This does sound good, reminds me of the salads I use to get in Pittsburgh when I lived there. I use to get these huge salads with melted cheese and regular fries on it topped with Ranch dressing. OMG, talk about good. Pittsburgh people put fries on everything. LMAO!

Yea, that was when I was in my 20's and I didn't gain an ounce eating stuff like that. Now - no way!

But this one sounds good, you could always make your own sweet potatoe fries and I have done that. Thanks for the recipe!

OMG I HAVE Heard about Pittsburg doing things with fries all the time. Don't they have something called " Disco Fries" where its just a pile of fries with Chili and melted cheese ( God I can hear my arteries screaming over just typing about it ) I'll take my version any day over that other stuff. I actually made it again last night for supper. Hope you like it. !!

I DID see the twinkies one too. His name is Chris Crocker,,,,a very unique person to say the least. I guess he just sits around and just posts stuff on you tube. He really isn't known for much else, but when I saw this recipe,,,I HAD to try it. The kid's on to something !!
OH,,,thanks for the reminder about Trader Joes ! I LOVE that place. I think thier version would be MUCH better than Schwanz so thanks again !

Disco fries are more of a Jersey thing, it's fries with gravy and mozz cheese, not my thing, but a big late night diner favorite. Canada, specifically Quebec, has a very popular similar version called Poutine, fries with gravy and cheese curds (I don't know what cheese curds are really). My guess is the Poutine was invented first, but hard to say for sure ;), I learned all about Poutine on the Anthony Bordaine show.

I think I can safely say that I would NEVER be tempted to eat disco fries or poutine. What a disgusting combination. Ick!!
