Kickbox DVD for the beginner

I think I want to try one of Cathe's kickboxing DVDs - any suggestions for someone who has never done kickboxing? Also, do you need alot of floor space for kickboxing? My workout floor space(because all my equipment)is about 4x6.

Thanks for your suggestions!

I'd get Cardio Kicks first if I'd never done any type of kickboxing before. It's fun, seems to go by quickly and is pretty straight forward.

My favorite Kickboxing Workout, however, is Kick, Punch & Crunch -- the very very very best kickboxing workout ever (IMO) - puts all my Tae Bo DVDs to shame.

Good luck!

KPC is awesome, one of my favorite workouts ever. It's a tough workout, but learning the moves themselves isn't hard at all (I have a really low tolerance for complex choreagraphy).

Are you talking 4x6 ft/yds/m? The warmup in KPC has some shuffling type moves from one side of the room to the other, which require some space. My room is probably about 9 ft wide and that's plenty. You don't need any equipment for the workout though, so maybe you could do it in a different room with a tv?

I have a question about this, too. I have Cardio Kicks, Kick Max and the kickboxing from the 4-Day Split. For a beginner, can you please rank in order where I should start? Or if I should get Kick, Punch, and Crunch and add that somewhere in sequence here?

Does that make sense? :)

Thanks, oh, wise ones, for your advice. It is appreciated!!

My room is 6 ft wide (because other equipment takes up space. But since I don't need equipment, I could move the coffee table in the living room and do it there. I might just get Cardio Kick AND KPC

Thanks everyone for your opinions!

I am a beginner in kickbox also and just did Kick Punch Crunch for the first time on Sunday. The space I have is a 4 x 8 aerobic floor and I'm really happy with that size. I think that 4 x 6 will work also, just tighter on the side to side shuffling segment. You do need room to kick backwards and forwards within that 4 x 6 framework, so hopefully no furniture that your heel will come into contact with.

DirtDiva - So did you find it difficult to learn the moves in KPC? Maybe i will just start with that if you felt like it was easy enough to pick up. I recognize that it will take me a while to feel comfortable doing KB, but I really want something different.

Actually, I just measured the room and it is 4x9 feet so that should be perfect!!

Thanks!
