Kick Max- I have to ask!

I haven't seen any comments yet about KickMax. Has anyone tried it yet??? I'm sorry I just had to ask!

I won't get my series until Thursday but I ran across this from Jordon:

You Guys are too much,

I really should have contained myself because I know that it is hard for those waiting on the DVDs. However, I just dropped my dh off at the airfield for his umpteenth deployment and for these workouts to arrive upon my return, well..... you guys can understand. My new rotation is supposed to get my mind off of things as much as possible.

I just did Kick Max. I will definately say that if the others are like this one, I will be working off my pent up energy and won't have to kiss the UPS man anymore.

Thanks for understanding,
jordan

This is all I found so far!

I found this from Fitnessgodess:

Kick Max--I admit I didn't preview the entire thing. I am just getting ready to jump into this one. The choregraphy looks challenging but not overly intricate.

I did Kick Max tonight without previewing it. It starts with 4 kick/punch combo's that were fun and easy to learn and had me sweating. For some added intensity there are a few sets of jumping jacks in btwn combos. Then comes 10 blasts. I had to skip most of these b/c I have bad knees and couldnt take the impact, but they looked tough. Tuck jumps, plyo jacks, lots of other interesting moves. Then came the leg conditioning section which was knee friendly and had my legs and butt burning. This would be easy to add ankle weights to for added intensity.

Next time I do it I'll do the ~53 min Low Impact Kickbox premix which is the combos plus the leg conditioning.

There are 2 other premixes and if I remember correctly one is the blasts + leg conditioning and the other is combos + blasts.

Cathe looks like she may have had some kickboxing training since KPC b/c her moves look much more crisp if that's even possible!

I did this one this morning after previewing it last night. Holy Cow! The backs of my arms are already starting to feel sore. I loved everything about it. The leg conditioning drills at the end look easy but they are very deceiving. Awesome workout! I think I will do Gym Style chest & triceps tomorrow.:p

Yes, my sore booty this morning can attest to the fact that the leg conditioning drills look deceptively easy!

Hi Amy - I posted this in Open Discussion and thought I would put it here as well. I too was most anticipating this workout! I was not disappointed. ;-)

Well I did Kick Max yesterday morning, without the leg conditioning drills at the end (don't have the time in the morning). It was about a 50 minute workout - perfect length for my morning workouts. I have been doing KPC twice a week to get ready for this and I thought it would knock my socks off, but apparently I really WAS ready for it! Don't get me wrong - it's a toughie! New moves put into a new order definitely got me winded and my heartrate up. However, I would say that this workout rivals KPC in it's intensity, but one is not more intense than the other. Just my opinion.

Both have something that the other doesn't and I really think they will be great in a rotation together. Again, I did NOT do the leg conditioning drills, so I guess I'm really commenting more on the cardio portion of the workout.

Oh, and one more thing I'm SORE this morning, in my hamstrings and upper back especially. Feels nice.

Liz-I couldn't have said it better myself. I did it this morning without even preiewing it first (ran out of time last night). I did the entire workout, including the leg drills at the end. Honestly, I was bored with it, but I am sitting here at work thinking...How could you be getting sore already and you were BORED...LOL. I am looking forward to doing this one at least once a week.

The point I agree with the most is that each (Cardio Kicks, KPC, and Kick Max) has something that the other doesn't.

I just did this workout too. I really liked it alot. Combo #4 and the blast are my faves. I really liked the leg work too. I am sure I will be feeling it tomorrow. I think it's a great leg sculptor. Some of the music I recognized from Janis's Hardcore Kickbox workout. I do have to say that Cathe's form is impeccable in this.

I agree with Gayle & the other poster that all of the Cathe's kickboxing workouts have something that the other doesn't. I look forward to doing this one again.

i think i'm most excited about getting this workout! i LOVE kickboxing!

cute work out clothes are good for AT LEAST an additional 10-15 calories burned!

Hi Amy, I did this workout this morning, followed by Core Max number 1. I've never been much of a kickboxing fan ~ but I think it's because I have felt uncoordinated doing punches and kicks. In KM, Cathe's cueing is superb. I could actually *do* the workout and not watch and try to catch on. The time flew by. With the leg drills, I used my unweighted barbell for balance, where a chair is used on the DVD. Now, I was holding onto my barbell for dear life, while it appeared Cathe and crew barely had their fingertips on the chair. Afterwards, I felt energized and not whipped. It's an excellent, excellent cardio workout!
