Kick Max --First time you did it

I did KM for the first time on Sunday... Kicked my butt something AWFUL!

How did you feel the first time you did it? How many days did it take to recuperate? How many times did you do it before it stopped making you unnaturally sore?

I did it for the first time last Friday. I think I was still sore on Sunday! But it was a good hurt:)

I thought I might just pass out on the floor!:7 And I have to modify those blasts with the tucks and stuff ( I do jumping jacks or jump squats instead!)
Strange, your body will eventually get used to the higher impact workouts, just hang in there!!:7

I've never done KPC, so I can't really say.

It was LOADS of fun, I was DRIPPING with sweat, and SUPER sore after!!

Kick Max was my first ever Cathe workout about 2-3 years ago when I first was getting into working out daily. Needless to say I couldn't do the whole thing for a while. Now, I really like it but do like KPC better. The blasts in Kick Max I would say are harder than KPC but the combos of Kick Max are so much easier than KPC.

Hope that helps- also, the only way I do Kick Max now is:
Warm Up
Blast Challenge
Kicking/Punching combos
Leg Drills
Cool Down

It flows much better and you aren't going from not being able to breathe during the blast challenge to a halting stop to do the leg drills, my heart rate gradually comes down during the drills and by the time you get the leg drills you are back to a normal heart rate!

Enjoy!!

I did it all the way thru the 1st time, and I think I was sore for about 3 days. the 1st day after was ok, the 2nd was KILLER. It's those leg conditioning drills at the end. I don't do those anymore, I'm a weenie. It's also easier, at least for me, if I do the bootcamp mix, which has the blasts before the combos.

I'm debating whethwe to get KM... I like KPC and I'm not sure if I "need" KM.... but the clips look so cool that I makes me want to buy it :)

Last night, I did KM for the first time. KPC is more of a fun factor. The blasts were different but challenging, I would've done tham better if I wasn't so ill last week.

I guess i'm the odd one in the bunch - I always did like KM better than KPC. I love the blasts at the end and the leg conditioning drills!

Oh man I'm sorry to say this but I hate that workout! That & the original IMAX are my most un-used home workouts. And I've never done the leg drills (I'm not positive but I think they're for toning so I just ignored them b/c I'm trying to build my butt & legs, not shrink them).

Anyway I just don't find it fun. It's too freakin hard. KPC--now THAT'S fun stuff!

KM was the first workout I used when the Hardcore Series was first released. I don't remember being sore. The leg drills always get me when I'm using them, but I don't feel them once I'm finished with the workout. I really expected this workout to be KPC2 but it wasn't. Even though I enjoy KPC more than KM, I like KM for what it is and I think it is a good compliment to KPC. I especially LUV using the premixes on KM.

Now the first time I did CTX KB I couldn't lift my arms the following day YIKES }( !

Kick Max has been out 4 years! Time flies. I should revisit this workout as I rarely do it. I remember finding the first part rather easy and the second part (blasts) insane. I usually just did the leg conditioning drills because they were great for conditioning my legs for other kickboxing workouts. I must be doing something wrong though. Lots of people note they get sore in their lats and shoulders when they do a tough kickboxing workout. I never feel anything!

Like many people, this was the first Cathe DVD I bought (no equipment so a good way to find out if I like it).

As I've bought more Cathe DVDs, I use it less and less but I did really like it when I first got it as it was so different to anything else I had.

I now mainly use it for the blasts and conditioning drills (good premix) as the kickbox segment isn't that challenging.

I always feel I've really achieved something when I've got through the blasts (although I've never managed to finish the plyo lunges!).

It seems to me that people who start out with this as one of their first Cathe DVDs really like it but others who come to it after using a lot of other Cathe DVDs aren't that keen.
