Keepers for future series!!!

Hi Cathe,
I hope you keep making long workouts with bonus footage in the future. Now that we are only getting one workout per DVD I'm LOVING the longer length and bonus footage on your fabulous five, as I like to call them. On days I'm short on time or energy, I can just do a premix, do part of the workout, or use the mix and match. It's also so easy to skip/fast forward through a DVD without even having to use the mix and match if one doesn't want to.
I also LOVE the louder music. Once I learn the workout, I want to hear the music.
Thanks for listening to all our suggestions. You ARE the best!!!

YES, YES, and TRIPLE YES!! It's so wonderful to have long workouts!!! For those of us fortunate enough to have 75-90 a pop to workout, it's great to put in one DVD and go as opposed to having to combine bits and pieces from several (not that that isn't a fun option at times, too!). And when folks don't have a lot of time to workout, it's great that SNM offers such fabulous timesaver premixes. And I, too, love the bonus footage - cardio section 4 from LIC is my favorite part of the whole workout! Also, Cardio Fusion was genius and if SNM was ever interested in creating DVDs like Cardio Fusion, The Terminator, or Hardcore Extreme by re-chaptering and creatively combining footage from CTX, the original Imax, MIC, Circuit Max, etc to make new, uber challenging cardio workouts - I'm sure your fans would be all over that!!!

Also - I love the new set, love the new sound system, love the insert cards that say which premix you're doing - it's all just great!!!

Oh yes, I forgot about the insert cards...they pop up just long enough...keeper, keeper!!!

That was my favorite segment as well.

May I suggest that future workouts be around 60 minutes, with premixes of varying lengths (including one longer one with bonus footage). While I love the new workouts, it's not often that I want to workout for 90 minutes! (and, yes, I can use the shorter premixes, but it's nice to usually do an entire workout that was meant to be done a certain way, without added insert cards, etc.).

Though I found some of them superflous in the cardio workouts where they pop up to say what equipment we need, and it's no different from what was used in the previous segment. I think those could be replaced with a fade-to-black/fade-in.

I for one, don't care about superflous. They take nothing away from the cardio workout.

60 minutes is too short when you are taking into account that a good WU & stretch will account for a minimum of 10 of that 60 minutes. If Cathe goes back to two workouts per DVD I could see how this would be worth my money, because the premixes are so wonderful between two workouts. Also, if the 4 day split is a CTX style, I can see this length being beneficial. I would love for the 4 day split to be on a two DVD set like the CTX series. I really don't see how Cathe could have made this current series any shorter and included all the things she included in each workout.

I agree. Unless you are going for something like a Timesaver or CTX series, I say the longer the better! I, personally, love the longer warm ups from the new series as well. But I can understand the need/want for shorter workouts too (which is where timesaver premixes come into play).

Also, didn't Cathe have a 4-day split series planned for next year? I bet that series will feature four 'shorter' cardio workouts.

Too short for you, perhaps, but quite a few people are daunted by the length of the workouts in the new series. Having a MAIN workout of 60 minutes, with one or two longer PREMIXES (including bonus footage, so there wouldn't be repeated segments) seems like the best of both worlds to me.

Okay, I like your idea of the bonus footage. I thought you were suggesting a 45 min step workout with two or three of the segments repeated.

BONUS FOOTAGE ROCKS

(But I still want to say that I LOVE long workouts, too - like Body Max, MIC, Drill Max, etc.)

>BONUS FOOTAGE ROCKS

I agree! I like some of the bonus footage in the new series better than some of the 'regular' footage! I think the LIC bonus cardio combo is my favorite of the workout! (And I did do that as a long workout, adding in the bonus footage, and repeating the back work).

Actually longer workouts, bonus footage, and premix options, with the ability to mix and match is still more workout for your buck. Like I said, when designing a series like this, I can't imagine that this set of workouts would have been complete without being the length that they are. Something would have been left out and these workouts are perfection, in my opnion. I'm sure I will bite whatever Cathe decides as she hasn't made a bad workout yet and she is still my home workout staple. But a keeper to me if I had it my way would be to continue with the longer workouts. I will do what I need to do to shorten it without wanting everyone else to get less workout for their money b/c I want a shorter workout. And just as many aren't daunted by longer workouts.

This sounds like a great idea to me!!! I like my workouts to be about 60 minutes. The 45 minutes or 50 minutes timesavers are good....but a bit too short for me. On the other hand, I find the 70 to 90 minute options are a bit long for me, but great to use on a day where I have more free time.

Putting in my two cents too...since I have time for only 60 minutes (& also don't like working out less than that amount of time), I find that I put those longer w/o's on the back burner and don't get the chance to do them as often. I'd love the 60-minute w/o's w/options to make them longer. LOVE the new cardios!!! Bette

I have to say, I agree with Kathryn. 60 min is a great time frame. With the premixes and the mix and match features, people can add a longer time to the workouts. I'm thinking most people don't have 75-90 min,- 6 days a week. Personally, I will make the time once in a while, even once a week for 70ish min, but 90 min is just to long on a consistant basis.

Hmmm I love the way the new workouts were put together :) Love love love them!

I quit going downstairs and saying to myself - you only have one hour to workout - I do the workout until its done and if its over by 10-15 mins, then so be it. I used to be total time anal compulsive worker outer - but now I figure what is 10 mins in the whole scheme of things??

I can remedy the 10 mins by:

Taking quicker showers
Putting on less makeup ;)
Having my clothes picked out the night before
Eating a quick bowl of cereal instead of scrambling eggs

or at night

Going to bed ten minutes later :)

Just my two cents - I always have some idea of how long the workouts are, but if it goes over longer or shorter - I don't worry anymore :)

I also agree "Bonus Footage Rocks!".
I like doing 70 to 80 minute long workouts and having the premixes with Bonus footage really increases the variety. I love variety as it keeps my body guessing. I'm totally enjoying all of the new workouts.
