How many hours do you sleep a day ms cathe? do they vary, do you go to bed at the same time, will sleep ever come?

Hi Jamie! In a perfect world I would love to sleep 7 to 8 hours a night and preferably be in bed by 11pm to make that happen. But life, as well as life's changes, if you know what I mean, seem to be preventing me of that right now.

Right now I am on a vicious cycle of insomnia and get anywhere from 0 to 4.5 hours a night (and boy do I look and feel it)!!! I have taken subligual melitonin tablets to help get drowsy and they do help. Every 4 days or so I will get a night of 6 to 7 hours and I am am so focused and chipper. I'm on a mission, and am mapping out a plan, to have more of those nights:)

Oh Cathe! I do know so well what you are going through! I don't know how you manage so well! Any hints or tips for us who are going through the same thing?
Thanks! Lisa in Louisiana

Insomnia tip!! Cathe, read this! :)

Ok, you're going to think I'm nuts, but for the last few weeks, every night right before I go to bed I eat a baked potato with the skin and olive oil. I got this tip from "The Sugar Addict's Guide to Total Recovery". Eat protein with each meal, but be sure you have no protein with the potato -- so no sour cream, no yogurt, but just about anything else you want that's not protein-based. This is supposed to help your serotonin production and help you sleep. I have not slept better in years and years and years. I sleep very soundly now, and I do still wake up, but I fall back asleep more easily than I usually do. Don't knock it 'til you've tried it!!!

Cathe,

I wish you all the best--from my heart as you've given SOOOOOO much to me and (I'm sure) everyone else on this forum.

My sincerity and respect to all that you are and all that you do!
