Just wondering, not pot stirring

I was just curious if a thread has actually ever been pulled? Supposedly there are moderators, but I've seen more than one thread which IMHO should just go away and never have. Do they actually moderate? Curiousity picqued because over at My Fitness Pal there have been a rash of threads pulled over the past few days. Just wondering!

Yes, I was actually "involved" with one that was pulled once. It happened rather quickly and I was shocked. I wasn't suprised though,...it was getting out of hand rapidly. :eek::eek:
 
i only remember one myself but then there was about a one year time frame i wasn't on the boards so i don't know if any happened at that time. sometimes things get heated but it always seems to die down without a problem. there was one though that somebody was called out for being a "fake" and i think the language was more of why it got shut down then anything. that person really used some four letter words i don't think my sailor mouth uses often LOL.

I'm shocked Mel, truly shocked. ;) Were cheetos involved (I haven't gotten the story details on that yet)? :D
I bet some of our FB chats should be shut down. hehe
 
Many threads have been pulled to my recollection, for various reasons. Once a shill for some whacked-out diet product posted a thread titled "I am so happy" and went on to describe weight loss due to the whacked-out diet product. At least two posts that I can recall were created by trolls who posted what can only be described as obscenity / pornography. Another thread that went into fairly explicit detail of the poster's intimate relations with her husband got the yank. And at least one post that made very insulting comments about one of Cathe's studio team got pulled. I'll take a bow for helping the pulling of that last one, as I was at least one person who PM'd Chris asking that it be pulled.

We try to allow open debate as much as possible, but yes we do occasionally delete threads and ban users. This doesn't happen very often, but there are times when we feel it is necessary to do so. Most often this happens when a person tries to sell something or political or religious thread gets out of hand.
 
Thnk you SNM! I was just curious because we've had some threads lately debating changes on the board....positive or negative, contenious or spirited....And I found it interesting that as heated as some threads have gotten I've never actually seen one yanked. While, another forum previously mentioned had 3 threads (that I know of, could have been more) yanked in 24 hours....and trust me, they needed to be!
I think that's a tip of the hat to all of us ;), that even when things get uncomfortable here, there is a line that rarely seems to be crossed. I have a new appreciation for the *debates* here and how respect for eachother is almost always maintained.....NOT happening other places!
