Just started STS on Sunday

Hi Cathletes!

I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi. I am new to the forum and am so impressed with all of the helpful advice and motivation on here.

I did Meso Disc 1 on Sunday and was incredibly demoralized, mainly by the PUSH UPS. I was really beginning to wonder if I had made a mistake by ordering STS--maybe I wasn't quite in good enough shape for this challenge. I spent some time on the forum Monday and saw that I WAS NOT ALONE. It seems like most people struggle with all of those push ups and just forge ahead.

I have decided to go with a 6 month rotation because of the fast pace and my push up issues (and some of the suggestions on here). I think I will benefit more from this approach.

I just finished legs (Disc 3) and feel pretty good.

I am new around here too. I am going to start STS on Monday. I am super pysched! I have dusted off my cathe dvds over the last couple of weeks and it has been humiliating! I am already making gains in my fitness level and I can't wait to see the results from STS. Keep us posted on your progress!

Nice to meet you! You won't be disappointed...the way your body is going to change in the next sixth months will astound you. I just finished my sixth month and I went from hating push-ups to loving them :) Good Luck! and Welcome!
 
Hi! Welcome to the forums :) Good luck with STS, i'm sure you'll LOVE it! I completed it twice and plan on starting a third round March 1st! Just can't get enough..haha!
 
Welcome ladies! I agree with everyone; you will LOVE STS! It is so much fun. I'm also doing the 6 month rotation and will be starting Meso 3 on Monday. It's a great, fun series and you will definitely see results. I'm seeing muscles that I never even knew I had!
 
I'm starting my second round of STS on Monday. I didn't do the first round as written because I was training with a personal trainer. Also, I didn't bother to do the 1 RM. This time, I'm going to do it as planned no matter what. Good luck and welcome to the boards.
 
Hi everyone - I am starting on 2/2/10. Really looking forward to the STS series. I've done P90X and it's tough to do the same discs over and over. I'm looking forward to the variety in this series.

okay, the legs workout in disc 3 was misleading. I thought I felt pretty good when I was finished, but was really sore yesterday and am still sore today. Sore in a good way--not in a bad way.

This should be fun. :)
 
LOL! It really does sneak up on you! I always think I didn't work hard enough until the second day! Ouch!

Just finished my first STS workout. Love it!!! My arms are feeling weak right now and sure to be sore tomorrow.
Can't wait for my next session!! Disc 2 on Wednesday.
How is everyone else doing?
 
I finished the first workout!

I made it through the first 5 push ups on my toes, the rest were on my knees. I have never done so many pushups in one workout ever!! My chest and shoulders are definitely sore, but my arms aren't feeling it yet. I may have gone too light on the biceps.

I took a little longer in between some of the exercises to get equipment set up. I had back surgery 3 years ago so I try to be careful when moving weights around...I don't want to get reinjured. I thought it was a fun workout. I am looking forward to doing the back and tris but dreading the first legs disk. I have to be so very careful doing deadlifts and all the squating and picking up weights will be a challenge for me. hopefully I'll make it. I am so excited to have so many of us starting off right now. I think I am going to try to stick to the 3 month rotation and then jump right back into but we'll see.

I can't wait to hear how it's going for everyone :)

Hi, I'm pretty new to the forums too and to STS and am finishing Meso 1 today! I felt pretty bad about the push ups too, always have hated them, but would LOVE to be good at them. I'm a teacher at the military university and all my students have to do pushups and pass fitness tests and complain about them all the time. I guess it motivates me to try and keep up with those young people (turning 40 in a month...). mlj83081, how long did it take you to love them? I wish! Anyway, I definitely already see an improvement from disc 1 to disc 10 and can't wait to see how I'll feel about them in April. Good luck everyone!
 
I'm midway through my second week on the six month rotation. So I have done disc 1 and disc 3 twice and need to do disc 2 on Thursday. I am really glad I am doing the six month rotation because I feel like I am getting a better workout the second time around. I have a better idea of the weights to use, the transitions don't seem so quick, and I feel like I can really focus on what I am doing. I spent most of Disc 1 the first time around cursing at the screen and falling down halfway through the pushups. The second time around I did "girl" knee pushups for all of them. But I did every single one I was supposed too.
