Just ordered insanity!!!!

Does it sound like it's going to be 4 workouts a week? What do we do on the other 2 days? I don't think I'll be putting my body through heavy lifting during that time but I was thinking maybe a muscle max or muscle endurance to compliment? Push/pull... supersets?? Thoughts?

When I paused the youtube vid to get a closer look at the calender as they zoomed in to it  it looked like at least 5 to 6 workouts a week. But that's all I could tell. geek alert - the best view of the calander was between 7:00 and 7:01 in the 3rd link - you need to keep clicking on the pause and play button to catch it

cavillo, I'm sure there will be plenty of reviews with all the gory details. :)

So how does a person living outside the USA or Canada buy this?

I'm pretty sure Mary from Total Fitness ships internationally.
You may want to contact her first.
I order from her site all the time and she it top notch! Seriously, you won't find better customer service.:)

Kariev,

I'm not sure how I'm going to arrange meso 3/ insanity. I'll have to see what the workouts look like and how I feel.

i just ordered this yesterday and they let me do it in 3 monthly payments, so if you can't afford all of it just ask them and they will let you pay that way

Insanity

Hello, I live in England & I'll be ordering my basic Insanity DVDs from totalfitness.com.

Olga

OK I am a slacker.... I just ordered mine this afternoon. I can't believe I have been too busy to get on the computer to order the set.I have been anxiously awaiting this series. I will definitely participate in an insanity thread here, I find BB boards cumbersome and a little to rah rah for my taste. I got the basic package and I hope to get it in time to start Monday July 20, but usually BB is slow to ship to me so I probably won't be able to start until Monday July 27

AJOCK : Finally, a series that we cardio junkies can sink our teeth into!!

Brenda in Indiana

LOL! Do you plan on giving up weights and doing the rotation as designed or are you just going to include this in your rotations a more nose-bleed cardio?

Hi, Gogigi: I would never give up weights! And I really suck at following rotations, so I'll just start incorporating in the Insanities for new and improved nosebleed. You know me too well.

Yeay, Bren, I hear ya! I'm actually taking a day off Tues. 07/21 (weird reason why taking a day off in the middle of the week, so don't ask) and I plan on making that an Insanity Inaguration!

We will definitely have to set up an Insanity Support Group - er, I mean, Insanity Check-In soon!

A-Jock

EEK! I might go crazy doing the same wo twice in one week but I guess we'll try. Maybe add on one body part a day or something if I feel like I need to incorporate some weight work.

Peer Tree - my coach said she could ship it to me (I live in France) but I'll prob have her ship it to my MIL who is coming in Aug. I hate shipping charges. Cathe's aren't bad though so maybe it will be worth it to have it shipped here.

Brenda, I agree about the BB boards. I spent about a year on them and was just kinda blah about it. I love the check-ins and support here! I also love that nobody cares what WOs you are doing!! :)

I haven't ordered yet... DH and I want to do it together in Sept/Oct in preparation for an upcoming cruise! :)

I can't wait to start hearing reviews. I should check out the VF boards...

Someone posted what the fit test involves. It looks like a workout in itself:eek:

Fitness test: (hope it's ok to post this)
1 min each of a variety of jumping exercises: Switch kicks; power jacks; power knees (think tae bo); power jumps; globe jumps (kind of fun); suicide jumps; push-up jacks and low plank obliques.
DVD lasted about 30 min and I was really tired after the 3rd exercise. there is about 45 sec rest between each exercise.

I'm definitely doing some weight work. I'm just not sure what I'll add.
I'm thinking of adding in Cathe's 4DS the first week to get a feel for what weight work will work best. I may switch to meso 3 or some of Cathe's full body (MM, ME, Push/Pull). So many choices!

Okay, so I bought it today too! Darn enablers! lol I am not going to start it until after my current STS rotation, but I figure it can sit there encouraging...er....taunting me until I get to do it. ;) In the meantime I will watch all you do it in your check-in and see what pain is in my future. :p

Ohhh, i have totally forgotten about the 4DS. Since the workouts are only 30 minutes they would be perfect combined with insanity. Thanks for the idea.

Sydney, thanks so much for posting the first bit of info on these workouts !!!!

Sounds like the first month it will be easy to add in some weight work and 4DS was a great suggestion. Although, I thought this was supposed to be a well rounded rotation that included body weight exercises for strength training. I thought it was more than just cardio. I guess I'll just have to do it and see. It's fine with me if it's just super tough cardio, there's so little of that on the market. I can always find weight work to add (thanks to Cathe).

I just did the preview disc today for a second time. I loved it just as much. Not sure I will want to do it 8 times in a month though. We'll see. I'd really like to try to follow the diet just to see if I can get some results. I can do anything for 2 months, right?

No problem!! I'm previewing the other disc now. I've decided that I am going to continue to use my treadmill as well as this program.

Kariev,

UPS just delivered my Insanity!!!
I'm looking at the suggested meal plan and I must say....I'm very impressed!
It first begins by helping you find your daily caloric needs using the Harris Benedict formula.
It looks like the meals are set up in 300 calorie blocks and the guide will help you scale up or down depending on your needs.

Example meals....

Berry Protein Smoothie
1-1/2 scoops protein
1/2 cup of frozen berries
1 cup skim, almond, rice or soy milk

Egg White Breakfast wrap

4 egg whites
1 whole grain tortilla
1/c cup part skim mozzarella cheese
sliced tomato to taste
1/2 cup of melon cubed

Peanut butter Toast

1 slice of whole grain toast
1TBSP natural peanut butter or almond butter
1tsp fruit preserves
1/2 cup of cottage cheese 1% fat (I'll sub fage here;))

So thankfully the diet include carbs!!!:D

I'm going to view some dvds now:cool:
