First thanks to everyone who told me their experiences with Lasik. It definitely helped with the butterflies. On Friday I had wavefront lasik with intralase (which means they cut the corneal flap with the laser too). Highlights of the surgery:
- being told the suction cups would leave hickies on my eyeballs (has anyone else ever had hickies on their eyeballs? This made me giggle.)
- being told that everything was going well during the surgery. My surgeon and the nurses were awesome!
- having bubbles swept off my eyeball with what looked like a minature curling broom
- being told it was done and that the flaps looked good! Yippee!
- the next day being told that my vision was 20/20 in the left eye and 20/25 in the right eye. The right eye may even improve as there is still swelling. Being told that I can drive my car without glasses! I've always had to wear glasses to drive. My vision prior to the surgery was 20/800 (or -6.25 for glasses). My stigmatisms were corrected so things are sharp not rounded now.
It's utterly amazing and the best possible Christmas present for me. I've been giddy all weekend!
