I was just curious what everyone else enjoyed more cathes step work outs or her kickboxing workouts and which do you feel gives you a better work out?.

I was doing a lot of step a few months back and was enjoying it until I started doing kick punch and crunch and cardio kicks and a few other instructors.

For me I would have to say I enjoy the style of kickboxing better and it has been giving me better results.I feel the kickboxing has toned me more in legs hips butt and abs. What results have you ladies found in either workout?

Don't misunderstand me I like cathe's step too but I guess I just enjoy the style of kickboxing better.

This is just for fun to see what everyone else likes also!!.:) :D

Thanks for taking the time

Deb:D :)

I am in your situation.I love the cathe step but I like more the kickbox style.I love to kick and punch.I really love cardio kicks, KPC, bootcamp and the kickbox of ctx series. I am anxious waiting for kickmax of hardcore and the 10 more too.I have power strike zone of janis Saffell.Yesterday I did hardcore kickbox circuit with janis saffell and guillermo gómez for the first time and I like it very much.

Hi again stayfit
I love love hardcore kickbox circuit. I was reading the bio on Guilleremo it is very interesting I think he is great. I will let you know after I get the new one. I didn't order all the hardcore but I did order kickmax I can't wait}( }( }( :p . How do you like strike zone compared to hardcore kickbox circuit?. I love to kick and punch too. Do you wear weighted gloves?, I am still using mine from walmart but I might order the reebok ones they say reebok by ironwear so they might be good.I am headed for the couch to read more weight watcher material on the new core program I am on and love it.Take care stayfit Have a great day. I am off this week and next and then back to work. Have a great day

Deb:D :) ;)

I do not use weight gloves. I like more the hardcore kickbox circuit, especially the segments instructed by Guillermo, than the kickbox strike zone but both are great.I think that he is the husband of jannis.Have a great day and a great weekend too.I hope you will be able to come here and posts in the forums because you say you are going to be off this week and next.Anyway if you can not I will be waiting here your awesome posts.

I love love love step, especially Cathe & a couple others. However, I do think the kickbox gives more results as it is cardio & strength work combined.

I love them both.:p

Ruth:)

I've been doing step for soooo long( 17 years) that when Cathe started her Kickboxing I fell head over heals. I do enjoy it a lot and it has helped tone and tighten me a bit more. However I still adore her step tapes, they just make me happy:) Susan

Right now I really enjoy kickboxing. I only have KPC and kickbox from CTX-but I love them!!! Contemplating on if I should get CK or just wait for the HC kickbox(forgot the name) or even look into other instructors like Stayfit has talked about.

I like step ok, but realistically I tend to be a bit of a clutz with step.

Catherine

I enjoy them both and it depends on my mood which is the currnet fave'

However, to keep my muscles confused, I aim to vary my cardio workouts enough so that none of them become too familiar, and to prevent over use injuries. In a given week I will almost always do some step, some KB and some hi/low &/or running or cycling.

I might be inclined to get myself into a rut and do the same cardio for several days on end, so I find rotations to be very helpful. Sometimes I use my own, or get suggestions on this forum.

Get cardio kicks. It is awesome. If you love KPC and KPC you are really going to love CK.I bet kickmax hardcore is going to be a fantastic kickbox workout, you can preorder it now, and in the waiting you can use CK.The hardcore kickbox circuit with janis and guillermo is a good investment but if you do not have enought money to buy both of them buy cardio kicks first.

I prefer the kickboxing. It's gentler on my knees (no torquey moves like in many of the step workouts) and I just love kickboxing in general.

I'm another one where it kind of depends on my mood. I've been doing more kickboxing lately and then today did a step tape and found I really missed it!! So I think keeping things mixed up for me is the key. I do like the way my legs feel though from all the kicking in kickboxing!

Jo

Thanks,

I've already preordered the entire HC series and am looking forward to kickmax. I have asked for CK for Christmas, but may not be able to wait. Is there alot of high impact in CK??

thanks
catherine

Yes,Ck has high impact(jamps, punches I love especially the ice breakers movements). After high impact movement there is a recovery.I can tell you I really love KPC, the music is fantastic in this workout, but I like more CK.It was filmed in the year 2000 but it is a five stars workout for me.I really loooove the last segment of power drills with those one hundred of each punch: jabs, upper cuts.I don't feel the tired during this segment and when I finish this workout I feel I am like flying after all this punches.Yesterday I did it and when I finished I could not believe the hour of lenght had pasted . Don't worry if you can do KPC or kickbox ctx series you can do CK.

I use to love kick boxing. I taped all the advanced Tae Bo's off pay per view years ago (2000) and it really slimmed my hips and toned my obliques. Those were the best Tae Bo's and I know Billy will never top that. I think I just got sick of it. I do Tae Bo occasionally, but for some reason I just am not interested. I think I burnt myself out after a year of dedication to it. I really don't like punching drills and KPC just doesn't interest me. I taped it off Fit Tv and it just doesn't grab me. I do, however, love CK! I think because it's not as much true kickboxing. I really am into the circuit workouts now and adding longer toning after my aerobics. But I may decide to do a Tae Bo this week!:)

Thanks for all the replies this has beeen fun and interesting to see what we all like:D

I hope you all have a great Sunday.

Debbie:)

Some step workouts I like better than the kickboxing (I love Rhythmic Step) and am not really crazy about Cardio Kicks. I have a hard time with side kicks because I broke my pelvis when I was 19 and the range of motion on that hip socket is not so great. But - I LOVE Kick, Punch, Crunch! That one seems to have less bouncing and I really dig the 2 ladies that do it with Cathe. Actually, anything without Hi/Lo is a winner in my book.

The first time I did KPC, though, I really did a number on my back. There's this move where you squat and then jump into a side-kick. I did the weirdest twisting thing and actually yelped! The pain only lasted a couple minutes, so I guess it wasn't really a "number" afterall...I did laugh though.

RE: just for fun/ which do you enjoy more cathes kickbo...

I love both kickboxing & step, but if I had a choice of workout beween kickbox or step, kickbox would be my choice. With kickboxing I am more focused and can manuever better. I like the power I feel afterwards b/c I like to box, hitting the pads and bobbing & weaving and all that good stuff}( }( .
