Just did the Gauntlet today for the first time!

Brit-Josie

Cathlete
Well, I said I'd report back on my first outing with the Terminator dvd....did the Gauntlet...oh my oh my, that was tough! I pretty much kept up with most of it, although I had to press pause on the dvd player a few times so that I could catch my breath and get some water. Also towards the end, I kept the step moves as low impact as possible because I was so exhausted!

I was glad that the combination of the great music and Cathe's enthusiasm helped me to keep going - I'm really looking forward to trying out the Viper and Imax Xtreme!

Josie

Wow Josie good for you. I was waiting to see if you would get back. I having done that yet but only did the Viper which I had to pause in between each segments to catch my breath and drink some water. Have fun with the rest. I will have to try the others soon}(

Josie....so glad you checked back! I really love the Gauntlet...yes...it does kick your butt. The Viper is real good too although I think the Gauntlet is a bit harder. Imax Extreme is a very tough mostly cardio workout. As Cardio & Weights isn't my favorite, when doing Imax Extreme I substitute Rhythmic step for the Cardio & Weight segments. Whatever works I always say...:)...Carole

Thanks for that - can i just ask one though? How do the Terminator workouts compare to each individual intensity series workout? Just wondering.

Thanks
Josie

Well the Terminator is a combo of 4 of the Intensity series...Cardio & Weights, Imax2, Bootcamp and Muscle Endurance. If you like the Gaunlet you would probably like Boot Camp. Although 2 other workouts in that series are Pyramid Upper Body and Pyramid Lower Body and for weight training and results those are a must...:)...Carole

Go Josie! I gotta tell you, I think The Gautlet is the toughest of the Terminators. Imax Xtreme is super long, but thank goodness you get those C&W segments in there as a semi-breather. And The Viper gets me out of sheer duration, but intensity wise, The Gauntlet is the real 'terminator' to me. Congrats on making it through!

Thanks for that Jillybean - glad to know that I've already done the toughest one - don't think I could cope with much tougher than that right now!

Congrats Brit-Josie! :7

Haven't tired Gaunlet, or any of the Terminator ones yet, but you have really motivated me to give it a go tomorrow.

Cheers
WebGirl

Hi Webgirl...Yes, Brit-Josie is a trooper....for trying the hardest of the Terminator series first!....Cool...let us know how you do...:)...Carole

I had this video almost well about 8 months and never did the Gauntlet. Well WebGirl Im with ya, I think I will try this one tomorrow or it might be Bootcamp. I really never like doing this type of circuit but I made a pack to myself that every Monday I have to do this type of Circuit. So it is either tomorrow or next Monday.

P.S. Edit to say I like your new avator!!

Hi everyone,

All I can say is just make sure you have a good supply of water handy if you are going to attempt the Gauntlet! I'm going to do Timesaver for most of this week (nothing today though, have a flu type bug :-( so I want to rest properly) and then I will do the Viper next Saturday.

Enjoy!
Josie

Yes water is a must! All this talk about Timesaver..I ordered it yesterday..:)..I might do the Gauntlet or Viper for my afternoon workout today. Yes, I agree as to not pushing yourself with a flu bug. Just makes it hang on a bit longer..get well soon...:)...Carole

Thanks Carole, it's rare that I get ill like this and I want to shake it off quickly - I called in sick today at work and am just resting at home with my 2 cats...want to shake this thing off so that I can start working out again - how sad is that?!

I am self employed and take mondays off, I always hated them! Resting is good...and with animals even better. I have 2 dogs and 3 cats, one of the cats is usually in my lap when I am here at my PC. So, not said at all...:)...Carole
