Good morning....

Hi everyone,

I hope all of you will have a fantastic workout no matter what you do today, and if you are off today, enjoy it! I just finished doing 45 minutes of Turbo Jam this morning and it feels great. I look forward to starting a new rotation next week with a focus on strength and fat loss.

Vilma and Iris- I hope you have a great workout on the TM. I can't wait until I'm able to do 60 minutes. My mental threshold for cardio right now is 45 minutes...tops.

Ivy-What kind of workouts do you like to do?

Until next time,
Justine :)

Goodmorning ladies, I hope you all are having a great day today!

Iris: Enjoy your TM workout :) (Thanks for letting me know what it meant). I think today I will be doing a workout that doesn't involve using my foot, lol. Maybe a pilates on the floor. I have to check my library and see what I can do today:) I'll let you guys know what I did today :) Also, this morning I started tracking my calories, etc. We'll see how that goes.

Justine: Hi! The kind of workouts I really enjoy and love to do is step workouts :) They are my truly favorite! I do like weight workout, but I love more step (Cardio). How about you? I see you did TJ today! They are lots of fun. I sold mines a while back and now I regret it.

Here's my morning breakfast log:

2 Hard Boiled Eggs
1 Kashi Pack Oatmeal
1 Cup Orange Juice
1 Tsp Hot Sauce ( I thought this was better to add on my eggs, then salt, what do you guys think?)

Total for everything:
Calories: 410
Sodium: 15%
Carbs: 54g (17%)
Protein: 23g (35%)

Does that look good? Other then calories, what else do I need to keep track of? Like Sodium, carbs? I'm kind of new to this and I'm so confused. Also, how do I know how much of carbs and protein I should consume for my weightloss?

I'll check back in again later

Good Morning It is nice to see that every one is up nice and early.

I finished the July Rotation last week. I really didn't know what I should do. So I pulled out 4DS Kick boxing. After seeing what Chris did yesterday I thought I would do it. I did the complete work out not a premix. I am hoping that Cathe will add the 4DS to her rotation next month. She usually has us do a premix I hope she has us do the whole workout!

TM runs can be a huge mind game for me...I am always checking the time and figuring in my head how much more time then at some point I realize my math was wrong and I really have more to go. Or I think once I get this mile in I will stop and I see I only have 20 mins left so I will complete it. I pray a lot when I am on the TM. HMMM maybe I will do a run tomorrow. I was thinking about doing another 4DS workout.

Just a quick "Hello" before I start my workout!

I'm going to do KPC..Cardio Conditioning, Plus Abs, and then 4DS Legs.

Will be back later to chat more!!! :D

Hello Everyone!

Well, today I decided to do Low Impact Circuit Premix Cardio only. I burned 440 calories in 48 mins! It felt great to workout today. I hope this workout doesn't make my ankle hurt more. I didn't have any problems while working out.

One question. If my goal is to consume 1800 calories a day, and this morning I ate 410 calories making it 1390 left to eat, and I worked out and burned 440 calories, so does that mean that I have now 1830 calories to eat today? Thank you!

I'll bb later :)

Hello again everyone!

Had a great run this morning...they just keep getting better and better...even though my knees sometimes argue. After almost 8 months of being smoke free...I amaze myself at how much my cardiovascular health has improved!!

Lap- I'm not a diet expert...I just sort of wing it and eat the best I can and try not to obsess...because IMO obsessing can lead to stress...and that just sort of defeats the purpose.

Boingo- Have fun with your workout today....looks like a good one!

Lori- I love listening to bad a$$ music while running..keeps me pumped and I find myself not looking at the time so much!

Vilma- I hope you had a great run!

Talk to everyone laters...

Iris

I'm back!!

Finished KPC, Cardio Conditioning & Abs, 4DS Legs! 74 Minutes, 600+ calories! These are tough workouts this week so far! Tomorrow is 4DS Double Cardio, so that should be a little easier, just an hour! Phsewww!

From yesterday:

Ivy: That looks like a great Rotation! Although, as you said, I don't have some of those workouts either. I think that's what has deterred me from doing them before. You can definitely sub any IMAX for IMAX 2. What do you have for Lower Body weight workouts? YOu could do a shorter premix from Butts & Guts. Or Gym Style Legs. Or Lower Body premix from Push/Pull or Supersets. I guess it depends what you have! I have NO idea what "Hard Core Legs" is either! Does anyone? And as far as running, any steady cardio substitution would be fine. Step or whatever cardio you have.

Lori: The Chobani Yogurt (plain) has 100 calories and 0 fat, 0 fiber. So it would be 2 points. The flavored ones have more calories (120-150), so would be more.

Deb: Sorry to hear about your sciatica and missing workouts. It's horribly tough to be sidelined. I think stretching and light cardio is really good for you, until it goes away!!

Beth!!!: Welcome back! What a crazy crazy plane story!! You must have gone bonkers doing all that waiting and missing out on sleep! Yucko! BUT..I'm sure the RT w/ Cathe was way worth it!! You look FABULOUS, by the way!! (seen you in the pictures)!!

Vilma: I have TOTALLY come to HATE leg presses. It's not that they are so difficult, but that they make my heart rate go UP out of nowhere, and it's uncomfortable. Yuck!!

~Chris

And for Today!!:

Vilma: Have fun on the TM! I know how you love that and you have missed it lately!! But it's also good to shake it up too. I bet you see good results.

Iris: Hope you have a good TM time too! I need to put in more Yoga/stretching in my week. I really do love it when I do it.

Justine: I love Turbo Jam as well! Which one did you do?

Ivy: You definitely made some healthy choices with your breakfast. Good protein and good carbs. I tend to eat in smaller meals, throughout the day, instead of 3 big meals, so to ME , it looks like alot. I eat usually every 2-4 hours throughout the day. Have you ever looked at sparkpeople.com? They have an excellent place to journal your food, and it can look at carbs vs. protein vs. fat, etc. But it is time consuming. Generally speaking, I would just try to eat lean meats/proteins, more veggies and fruits, less refined carbs (breads, white pasta).

Great workout today for you! I swear, ALL of Cathe's workouts rock, no matter which one it is!! As far as eating the calories you burned, I think it's okay to eat SOME of them, but in the end, it's more calories expended than taken in = weight loss.

Lori: Glad I could inspire you !! 4 DS is a great, no matter how you do it. I have recently been exploring the premixes, they're pretty cool!

Hope you guys have a great day today!!!
It's beautiful here, sunny, dry and in the 80's. I *have* to find a way to get outdoors today!!!

Hey Everyone! Good workouts! I ended up doing muscle max this morning. My copy is still out on loan, but bought one for a friend at the rt, and just had to do it. I'll give it to her tomorrow, so it was a good opportunity today.

Chris, thanks for the compliment -- where did you see pictures? So far I haven't seen any of myself posted. It was such a fun fun trip -- amazing to be working out in the same room with Cathe, Brenda, Cedie, and Jai. They are all amazing!!!

have a great day everyone!

-Beth

Hi Chris: Great workout today! Awesome calorie burn! I have those lower body workouts you mentioned. The only DVDs I don't have of Cathe are CW/Imax2, Ab Hits, CV1, PH+, S&H, PS,CK/CM, and PUB/PLB. Got everything else. Yes, I checked Sparkpeople.com but they have their own calorie choice, and I was trying to put my eggs, which were 70 cals each, and they had it as more. I think I won't be counting calories and just make sure I make the right food choice and portions. Today I ate for lunch chicken breast w/ mixed veggies and 1/2cup of brown rice. This was the longest time to eat my lunch, LOL! It took me about 30 mins to eat it, LOL!!! If it was something else I'd like, it takes me 10 mins, lol! Anything for good health though. I agree with you, ALL of Cathe's workouts ROCK!! I have a whole bunch of other ones too (Not Cathe), and I always do Cathe only, lol. I really need to start doing some of the other ones once in a while.

Beth: Great workout! Muscle Max is awesome!

BBL :)

Checking in with a "Hi" ladies! Did Basic Step (on the floor, and I was so bored), and Stretch Max. Back bothering me today. I HATE hurting! I need to get well!

Hope everyone has a great day!!!!

Hi everyone:

Ok, tomorrow we leave for Florida ... I will miss all of you .... And my workouts. Not sure what I will do there. My family doesn't really exercise. So, there will be no motivation there. I am going to have to get on my sister's computer and talk to you all!!! She does have a pool and lots of land. So, I could swim and maybe try some running or walking for exercise. I would love to go to a gym and take a sculpting class. But, that probably won't happen...

I did do the Viper today. I REALLY liked that one. A great mix of cardio & weights and Imax2 intervals and Muscle endurance. I don't recall ever doing that one before. But, I will do it again..Anyone done this one? They do use the buttercup song segment..I laughed when it came on after all the talk of it yesterday. HAHA

Deb: That is good you did Basic step while in pain..Hope you heal up soon!!! Does stretch max or yoga stuff help any?

Vilma: How was that run?

Ivy: I have others too. I basically do Cathe though and throw other stuff in here and there..You meal looked good. I have read that you want to have a really good breakfast and you did that. I always make sure I get protein and watch the amount of sodium what ever I eat has in it..Not sure about those percentages. I would have to look that up. I think if your goal is to loose weight..I wouldn't add those calories you burned back in. I think the 1800 calories is for the day no matter what..Except on rest days. I think you would have to watch what you ate since you aren't burning those calories.

Justine: Are you doing one of Cathe's rotations? Good luck!!

Lori: I laughed when I read what you do on the treadmill. I do the same thing on my elliptical. I count down the minutes until it beeps to the next line and especially if I am doing a tougher level at the moment.

Iris: Great job keeping smoke free so long. 8 Months!!! I imagine you can breathe a WHOLE lot better now!

Chris: great workout..I am trying really hard this time not to add those 3 vacation pounds. I haven't lost the last 3 yet. well, not all of them!!

Beth: I would think you would still be in pain from the RT..Good for you doing MM..I bet it is fun working out with the crew. I know I enjoyed going to a live class at the FIRM. Now I need to visit Cathe!!

Hey Kathy! I was wonderfing where you were :) Great workout today! I did try Viper one day and it was TOUGH! But, it's a FUN workout. I'm starting now to watch my sodium consumption because I was eating a lot of it. That's awesome that your coming to Florida! I live in Florida :) It's too hot down here though, lol. I moved from Virginia about a year ago, and we have 2 more years left here. What part are you going, if you don't mind me asking? I live near the Kennedy Space Center. I hope you have a safe and fun trip tomorrow.

I'll bb later.

Hi everyone!! Don't have much time...but just wanted to check in quickly and say hi!! I haven't checked in for over a week and there's lots of newbies here! I'll have to get to know you all!

We were on vacation all of last week. Rented a cottage in Michigan on the lake and had a nice relaxing time. Went by way too fast!! I have pictures I can post if I can figure out how to do it. I went out running three times, but that was it for exercise.

Chris, I'm jumping back into that rotation that Randi did (I think). Are you still doing it? I'm starting with week three today and did 4DS Kickbox. I cheated and substituted the upper body from MM instead of all the 4DS upper! Too much after not doing any weights for about 10 days! MM was good, though.

I'll check in again tomorrow. Trying to get used to this new forum!
