Favorite John Hughs Movie

My favorite John Hughs Movie is Uncle Buck! I really like everyone of his movies but that one is number 1 for me.

I saw that this morning. I feel like a huge piece of my youth went with him. :( All those 80s teen movies are still so nostalgic for me.

"Whatsa happenin' hot stuff?" My favorite line from a John Hughes movie. What about all of yous???

No favorite lines...I wasn't a teenager when his movies came out, but I enjoyed them. I love Harry Dean Stanton, and think he was the perfect choice and completely heartbreaking as Molly Ringwald's dad in like Pretty in Pink. I liked the movie except, 1- She picked the wrong guy, and 2- That prom dress was horrid! :D

But, here's my favorite scene from a John Hughes movie. (I love Kate Bush, and maybe Hughes did, too.)

My sister and I regularly quote lines from "Sixteen Candles." This is a favorite:
Brenda Baker: Can you remember to turn off the stove in twenty minutes?
Samantha: I can remember lots of things.

Whenever someone asks me to remember something I always answer with the above line.

I do have a soft spot for Sixteen Candles as the high school that I went to is featured in the movie. It no longer exists so its nice to see the old place again from time to time.

I love Ferris Bueller. This is my favorite quote:

Not that I condone fascism, or any -ism for that matter. -Ism's in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an -ism, he should believe in himself. I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me." Good point there. After all, he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. I'd still have to bum rides off people.

My sister loves the part in the beginning when he is playing the clarinet very badly and he says quote proudly, "never had one lesson." It cracks us up every time.

I actually cried when I heard. Remember, just a couple of weeks ago, our thread on fave 80s movies and his were at the top of everyone's list?

I'm a big Harry Dean Stanton fan too- a brilliant character actor that constantly flies under the Hollywood radar.
