I did Ripped in 30 this morning. Its a 36 minute circuit, including the warmup/cooldown. It was ok. Not too bad. She uses 3 minutes of compound exercises, 2 min. of cardio, and 1 minute of core work. In retrospect, I could have used a higher weight, so next time I will go for the 5 pounds instead of 3. I just didn't know what to expect and I didn't want to be crippled tomorrow:eek:

I might do some yoga tomorrow. I thought I had a seminar, but it looks like I won't after all.

Happy October 1st!

I like this month! Why not? It's my birth month! lol

Alisha - I like Ripped in 30. The first time, I went pretty light as well. You never know how it's going to go until you try it out once. Better light than to hurt oneself! Sorry you don't have a seminar, but at least that frees you up for some good yoga!

I finally reloaded on fruit so I can go back to my smoothies in the mornings. Yay! Still working on getting consistent, but at least I'm doing something 2-3 days a week, well, for one week so far, but it's something! Didn't feel like running tonight, so I didn't. Ran some errands. Had to pick up burger for Milo. He's had an upset tummy for a couple of days. He was fine Friday after work. I put the pups out and when he came in he laid down on the couch and at dinner he wouldn't eat. He ate some boiled burger and a little rice tonight. I just hope it stays down! He went running with Stephen this morning and did fine. Going to give it a couple of days and if he isn't back to eating normally, I'll take him in to the vet. Sigh. Just what I need, another vet bill.

Jane - Hope you had a good Monday!

I am taking today as a rest day. I am sore in my hammies from yesterday's workout.

Tricia- I hope that Milo is feeling better today.

Jane- Did you get a workout today?

Alisha

Happy October!

I've been MIA for a couple of days. Work has been more disappointing than usual.

Saturday was a rest day. Sunday was a 11 mile run and then worked in mom's yard for over an hour.

Here was last night's workout. Nothing usually hard but I'm sure at some point my DOMS will kick in especially with the Firewalks. I actually 100 (50 each side)
25 weighted Russian Twists
25/25 Side Squats
25 weighed sit ups
50 squats
25 Oblique Crunches Right
25 Oblique Crunches Left
25/25 Walking lunges
50 fire Walkers

I am taking a rest day today.

Tricia ~ I hope Milo is feeling better. Smoothies are good. I need to get a better blender though.

Alisha ~ Enjoy your rest day. Good job in using lighter weights the first go around. It's better to be safe than sorry.

I took yesterday for rest and today will be yoga. Sheesh, those hammie doms can really sneak up on me. I'm sorry even thought i used lighter weights. I often don't feel something until its too late.

Jane- Great job on your run. I'm sorry work was bleh.

Tricia- How is it going?

Alisha

Hi girls!

Jane - Sorry about work. It can be tough sometimes. Hope it's leveling off and getting back to normal!

Alisha - Yikes on the hammie DOMS! I never notice what kind of pain I'm causing myself until way too late! Hope it's getting better!

Milo is fine! Whatever it was, worked it's way out and he was back to normal yesterday. At lunch, I noticed he had more energy and was more like his usual hyper self. At dinner, he actually came to the kitchen excited to eat. I still only gave him a little rice and beef to be sure. He slept through the night after the 1:00 a.m. potty run and didn't puke. Gave him just a little bit of regular food tonight and split the rest of the beef with a little more rice tonight. He's definitely himself again! LOL He's hyper and running around. I'm glad it's gone!

Last night I got all set up for my raw foods bootcamp. Brandi finally got me all squared away. I couldn't believe all the problems and delays. She was very apologetic about taking so long to get back to me each time. Guess I need to learn patience. She is in graduate school, so I can only imagine her schedule is almost as bad as Stephen's!

I downloaded all my materials and her books and started reading. Today was my first homework in the early phase part. I wrote down my purpose. Basically, I thought of it as goals. Started a journal to keep notes, ideas and my feelings, most importantly, the difference in how my body and mind feel during this transition. I need to focus on how much better it makes me feel to eat this way so I can more easily pass up the cooked foods, especially fish and fried junk food!

That's about it for me since Monday. We have next Monday off! Yay for holidays!

Have a great night!

I was suppose to go running last night but it rained so I'm going tonight instead. I made up an upper body workout last night.

Tricia ~ There is no end in sight to the crap that goes on in my office but if that's not changing (which it isn't) I just need to change instead. So I'm just doing my work and not saying anything else.

Glad you are officially in boot camp!

Alisha ~ Hope you enjoy your yoga today.

I took yesterday as a rest day also. Today will be Yoga with Gary Bromley. Tomorrow will be a hike/walk if I have the guts, if not it will be a Cathe step workout. I'm not sure yet, last Saturday, a mountain lion ate one of our neighbor's chickens in the middle of the day. I just could not believe it, normally they are nocturnal, so I usually feel fairly safe, but I'm a bit cautious right now.

Jane-Good job on your workout!

Tricia- My doms are finally well enough to do a yoga workout. I'm so glad that Milo is doing well. Try thinking of purpose as the reason you do things (it might be your health, looking good, feeling good) and goals are the result (inches lost, sweet tooth gone, good digestion.)

TGIF!!

I am taking a rest day. I have to change my long run to Saturday instead of Sunday. I'm doing 12 miles tomorrow morning, then off to go shopping with Mom for most of the day.

Alisha ~ As much as I LOVE lions, I would be a bit cautious as well. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Hope you guys have a great day!

TGIF

I did Petra Kolber's Trainers Edge 40 min. circuit this morning. I feel good. It was fun, one part cardio, one part compound movement. Tomorrow will be a Cathe step workout. I don't know which one yet.

Jane- Enjoy your rest day.

Tricia- Have a good weekend!

Alisha

Hi ladies!

At least my MIA stretch wasn't so long this time!

Alisha - That is downright scary! Be careful out there! I'm not sure when their normal feed times are, but it sounds like they're being forced out of their routine!

Jane - That's the smartest strategy - to just keep your head down. I hate when things get like that! It usually means it's time to move on for me. I don't handle confrontational atmosphere very well at all. Hope your 12 milers goes well! Enjoy your day with your mom!

Finally got my butt in gear and started Cathe's October rotation! Did Turbo Barre for the first time ever today. I'm humbled. Going to try to keep my goals in front of me and my mindset down so I keep moving. Tomorrow is BodyMax2 and that is a real toughie! Just hope the DOMS isn't too bad the first day so I can make it through that one! I usually manage to get through the cardio portion, the first hour, then can't get the rest. Maybe if I pace myself for the first hour, I can finish the whole thing - sort of.

Enjoy your weekend ladies! We are enjoying a warm day, windy, but nice, today. It's over after today. Plummeting temps to the 50s on Monday. Brrrr! I'm not sure I'm ready for that.

Good Morning!

I'm up early this morning. I have already been to the grocery store. I did my long run yesterday - 12 miles. It went pretty well. Then I hung out with mom most of the day. We got her Shingles shot, then went to the grocery store, then had lunch then went shopping downtown to pick up some things for my sister in Illinois who is recovering from shoulder surgery, my BIL who is being an angel, and my cousin who had ankle surgery last week.

This morning I am training 2 friends and in the afternoon I am doing an upper body workout.

Alisha ~ Hope you are having a great weekend!

Tricia ~ Good job on the workout. It's still in the 80's here.

I'm taking a rest day. My nose is running. Yech.

Tricia- Good job on your workout!! Body Max is super hard, are you doing the original or BM2?

Jane- Great job on your run! Yikes, it sounds like your family is definitely needing a lot of healing energy. I hope that everybody feels better soon.

Alisha

Good grief ladies! I posted yesterday and it didn't take.

Sigh.

Jane - You had a busy weekend! Healing to your sister and cousin! Hope they both recover quickly and well!

Alisha - BM2 is the one I did. I could barely get down the stairs this morning! lol

Going to keep pushing play as all this soreness will eventually work it's way out - eventually, right? According to my schedule as it is now, I get Fridays off. That'll be nice! I'm hoping to keep getting my runs in somehow. Not sure how all that will play out. Even though I'm not running a long time yet, it still takes time to get the GPS up, do my drills and drive home. We shall see.

I'm off today for the holiday! Have a lovely Monday you two!

Tricia- Gah! Stupid computers!

Jane- How was your weekend?

I am doing some chores this afternoon, and then I will do something. I don't know what. Maybe one of the LIS series workouts. I chickened on going out, I did not want to be lion chow. I'm leaning towards 'Cardio Supersets' and then Stretch Max with the band.

Alisha

I don't blame you Alisha! Better to workout indoors than to be breakfast, lunch or dinner for someone else!

Well, I didn't get my workout in. For some stupid reason, all of a sudden, iTunes isn't wanting to play my movies (workout downloads included). Stephen is going to fix it for me tonight and I'll be back on it tomorrow. Guess I got an early rest day! Works out okay so my butt can recover a bit! lol

Jane- Hope you had a good day today!

Well...I didn't workout on Sunday. I was just too tired. But I did a workout yesterday and today I did a jump rope workout - 100 jump rope mixed in with 20 reps of a bunch of different exercise for about 8 rounds. I love this workout. It's a smoker. Then I did farmer's walk around the block by myself with 2-18# kettlebells (approx. 1/2 mile). I didn't think I would make it but I did. I had to put the bells down about 4 times. My forearms, shoulders and upper back are on fire.

Work has been really busy and my boss is in town so I have to be a good girl. I'm not going to the team dinner on Thursday because we don't have money. We are laying off people (not in our region) and they just keep spending money. They are so stupid. So I'm protesting. I am the only one not going. My boss is big on the team stuff - like work hard and play hard. I agree but I prefer to play hard with people I like and have stuff in common with...namely my friends and family. I don't consider any of the people I work with friends. They are nice people but they are not really my friends.

Alisha ~ I would have chickened out too. What workout did you do today?

Tricia ~ My sister and cousin are doing well. I spoke to my cousin last night. She is in a rehab hospital right now. She has spina bifia and only has one leg and the surgery was on that leg. I guess they had to repair her ligaments because they were shot. Her tendons were fine. She has to get a cast in a couple of days and then prove that she dress and bathe herself before they will let her go.

My sister had her first doctor's appt post surgery and I guess all looks good. She will start rehab soon. I'm not sure when. Both of them have a long recovery though.

Hope you got a workout in today.

Day before yesterday, I did Cardio Supersets. I fizzled after 35 minutes. Thats a very tough workout. My tushie is a little bit sore.

I am doing RS for the first time in forever. My weight keeps climbing, I'm up 10 pounds, my kidneys haven't been happy, and I'm doing my best to keep on keepin' on at this point:(. I haven't slept well in a couple of days. Everything is stressing me out. My Dad thought he was getting a job and then he decided he didn't want to do it which means my Mom won't be able to retire (her vision is failing, this is really selfish of him.) I can't find a job. I feel like crud. I'm thinking about going paleo and lowering my carbs, but I can't go too far because that irritates the kidney and causes weight gain on my body. I smell strange, like some sort of toxic chemical. I'm hoping that this clears up soon.

Tomorrow will be MMA Kick Box.

Jane- I wish lots of recovery healing vibes for your family. Good job on your workouts.

Tricia- I hope your iTunes is working again.

Alisha

Evening ladies!

Jane - No kidding you were tired! Whew! You rock! Love that workout with the jump rope too! I have one, just need to dig it out. Glad your cousin and sister are doing well. I'll be continuing to send them healing energy for their recovery!

Alisha - Stress is probably a lot of what's going on with your system. I don't like a lot of meat, nor do I like high protein diets. That's the only reason I don't try paleo. I hope that works for you or a variation! I find trying different things helps to perfect a healthly lifestyle on the food front. Most often it's a mixture of different modalities for most people. Good luck with it and let us know how it works for you!

I hate that your mom is having difficulties with her eyesight and your dad won't take that job. I know moving takes money, but have you considered looking a little further out for work? I can imagine the job market must be terrible up where you are!

Hope you can find some relief from the stress and your issues straighten out soon!

Stephen got it going again, but he had to cheat. He ended up moving all my workouts directly onto the Mac Mini connected to the tv. That worked! Took all night Monday night to transfer all those workouts! lol I could have worked out last night, but Stephen actually came home early from school for once! Spent the evening with him instead, but I got 30/30 done and some ab hits tonight. My mental attitude towards working out is getting better. I think with each workout, it improves. I should be back to kick butt fever in no time!

Have a terrific night!

Yesterday I went for a 4 mile run. Today will be an upper body workout.

My boss is in the office today and part of tomorrow and he is already annoying me. You know how you do normal things (like ordering them lunch and stuff) and then he ends up thanking you and it turns into something fake because he is really trying to suck up to you? That's what he does. He doesn't work in our office so when I talk to him on the phone he is all business and doesn't joke around. Then he comes in here and he's everyone's best friend and he ends up coming across as insincere (well he is a salesman at heart). So he wanted to get me lunch because I have to order them (him and the 2 Directors) and I told him I don't want anything and then he said we can order from a different restaurant (which means I will have to drive farther to get it) and I said...no don't worry about it I have something here and he got all mad at me. I'm already blowing off the dinner because of we have no $$$ and because he wants to give this guy a retirement party even though we already gave him a party back in May when he retired only he wasn't here. Who cares anymore? It's been almost 5 months. Help!

Alisha ~ I agree with Tricia your weight gain is probably due to stress. I would think if you didn't have a job, you wouldn't be picky about it but I have never been in that situation. Yet I would want to take some load off of my spouse. I'm sorry things have been so rough for you. I'm sending you lots of positive energy.

I think everyone needs to find their own balance when it comes to their diet. My mom has done well staying at below 45 grams of carbs at each meal and 15 grams for 2 snacks. Can you try that and see if it works for you? You can deduct the total number of fiber grams from the total carb count. That would at least give you a place to start and you can go from there.

Tricia ~ Congrats on your workout. I'm glad you're feeling like your mojo is coming back. Yay!!
