Jogglers March 2015

I am basically treading water right now, I'm not going anywhere. Its time to ramp up my workouts again. I am coming off of a GI tract bug that has hit my folks and my brother too. I'm doing better thanks to Triphala, marshmallow root, and probiotics. I also drank kefir. I started today with a Yoga Dance dvd I got from netflix. It was a bit boring. The instructor just wasn't my cup of tea, it was more dance than yoga, and I do like dance but it didn't seem to know what it was. There seemed to be no real cohesive choreography.

Jane I am glad you enjoyed your race.

Tricia I am sorry its still snowy. I hope it just melts soon.

Happy March!

It was close to 80 degrees today. I had a nice 3.5 mile run.

Alisha ~ I hope everyone in your house gets better soon! I'm glad you are doing better and got a workout in even though it was boring.

Tricia ~ I'm sorry to hear about all that snow. We've had tons of rain but the sun has been out for about 3 days now. Tomorrow we are back to more rain.

Hi girls!

Alisha - I hate that you have all been dealing with illness! Glad you are feeling better and hope you and your family stay well!

Jane - I may have to move in with you!

Well, we've had more snow. We were supposed to only get 1-3 inches, but it snowed all day from early morning until around 6 p.m. yesterday. We ended up with another 6-8 inches. Hopefully, that was the last storm! According to the Weather Channel, we are supposed to stay above 30 and sunny for the next 10 days! Hope that's real! I'm so sick of freezing to death and it snowing every other day! It really has been non-stop for about 6 weeks! Our temps have been the lowest ever! (my scientific estimation)

I got a new car! Well, almost new. 2012 Mini Cooper S. It's blue with black stripes. We drove down to NJ for it on Saturday. It had everything I wanted, including a cold weather package, and low mileage. I put it in the Mini shop yesterday morning to be inspected and have roof racks put on and they just finished it this afternoon right before 5! I couldn't believe they had it so long! Picking it up tomorrow. They did find a small issue with one of the wheels, but the dealer will pay for the fix, which is nice. I can't wait to get it back! I love it!

Nothing exciting going on here. Same old stuff. We saw Diana Krall on Wednesday night. She was fantastic! We put our car in the garage across the street and I'll never do that again! The guys in the lot taking money and giving out the tickets asked us if we'd mind leaving our keys. Stephen said he didn't want to leave the keys and they waved us through. We noticed as we walked through the lot that they weren't asking anyone else for keys. When we came out of the show, all of them were gone and the office was locked up. I swear they were going to steal my car! We went in the Mini.

I've been a slug and off again, on again with decent eating habits. I may never recover! lol

Happy Saturday! It's sunny and in the 60's today. Hopefully it will dry out our lawn. We have some kind of drainage issue on our street that effects are lawn. The City does not acknowledge it and says we live in a swampy area. Seriously? Anyway I hope it dries up. We had a cool day yesterday but we are warming up this weekend.

Thursday I did an upper body/cardio workout. My arms are still sore. Friday was a rest day and this morning I did a running working mixed in with some speed skaters, sandbag presses, kettlebell front kicks and jump squats.

Tricia ~ Congrats on the new car!!! I can't believe the garage wanted your keys...very smart to keep them. I would have done the same thing. You can move in with us. We could find somewhere to put you!

Alisha ~ I hope everyone in your house, including you is feeling better!

Day before yesterday I did 30 min. of Petra Kolber's 10 Min. Solution series Dance off Belly Fat. I took yesterday as a rest day. On Thursday my Brother had an emergency root canal. Poor guy. He has been looking poorly and we didn't know what was wrong because the tooth didn't hurt yet. This morning I did 25 minutes of Shiva's Yoga for Beginners before I took my parents to The Original Pancake House in Roseville, I had an Amazon Local Voucher. I enjoyed the Swedish pancake with lingonberry jam. Yum.

It is super sunny here, in the low 70s. The forecast threatens more 60s later next month. But, around here we can go from cold to summer in less than a week. I'm prepared, I bought myself a wax warmer last Christmas so I can be shorts ready in a jiffy. I also picked up a Henna hair dye kit at the co-op for 7$, and I plan to do that tomorrow.

My cat has been on antibiotics for about ten days now. She seems like she is doing ok. She had been sniffly and the vet wanted her to be on medicine to make sure there was no opportunistic infection. She is up to 11 lbs. This is a major improvement from when she was sick last year. She weighed in at just 8 lbs. She is a maine coone, she is supposed to be big.

Jane my Mom and Dad are much improved from their illness. I'm better too.

Tricia I am so glad you got a fun new car! Thank goodness you didn't give them your keys. I haven't heard Diana in person, you are so lucky. I hope it gets warmer for you soon.

Jane Great job on your workouts, as always. We haven't seen the 80s yet this year.

The weather has been nice here but we are suppose to get rain starting tomorrow for the rest of the week although the temperatures will stay in the 80's.

On Sunday I ran 6.5 miles. Yesterday I did a total body weight workout. It was so nice to work outside in the daylight and warm temperatures. Tonight is a rest day.

Hi Tricia!

Alisha ~ I'm glad everyone is feeling better at your house...including you!!

Hi Girls,

I hope you guys are doing well. TGIF!!

The weather has been nice here. On Wednesday I ran 3.5 miles. It was in the 80's. Yesterday I did a med ball/body bar circuit, then did some balance work with the med balls and then walked around the block carrying a med ball. It started raining halfway through but it was a nice gentle rain. I did not mind getting wet. More it rained, you could see the pollen hanging in the air.

Tonight will be a running working mixed in with other exercises. I haven't decided yet.

Hope you guys have a great Friday!

Hi girls!

Alisha - So sorry about your brother having to have a root canal! I can't imagine! Hope he is better and I"m glad all of you are finally feeling healthy again! Good job on the workouts!

Jane - Ick on the drainage issues! That is not good, especially when you start getting a lot of rain! Cities never want to take any responsibility for anything! You should see the car-sized potholes up here! They are ridiculous! So many people are having to have a lot of expensive work done on their cars due to bent rims and damaged tires! I can't take my car over to the East Side of Providence because there are huge potholes that would eat my car almost!

We are finally seeing temps in the 40s which is so nice! Snow is melting off, but we still have some significant piles everywhere! We are finally starting to see the curbs a bit, but it's still going to be a while before it's all gone.

I'm still not getting any workouts in. Someday. I was supposed to start a 6 week weight loss competition with 2 of my co-workers and one of their sisters who I golf with, but they backed out. It would have been fun and I had hoped it would have been the kick I needed to get myself back into a regular routine. Oh, well.

I"m going back to PT starting Monday. Having issues with my left shoulder again with pain down my arm. I want to nip it in the bud before it gets too bad and before golf and paddleboarding starts! At least my neck isn't bothering me too much! I know it's all related so they'll work on that too.

Other than that, not much else going on here.

Keep up the great work! Do some for me! lol

Happy Monday!

Saturday was a rest day. Sunday was a 6.5 mile run then yard work at my mom's house. We put together a raised bed that we purchased. It wasn't too hard. We only needed a Phillips screwdriver and a wrench. We had to take some of it part because things weren't lining up. Now we have to fill it and start planting.

Tonight will be a full body weight workout. My sister from Chicago is in town and will be working out with us. It will be fun!

Tricia ~ The drainage issues will go away when summer is here. That is what happened last year. Our temps have been in the 80's so it should dry everything out. Pollen is everywhere though.

I hope you get your shoulder and neck issues taken care. That can be painful. I'm glad the weather is warming up for you.

Hi Alisha ~ Hope everyone in your house is feeling better and that you had a great weekend!

We were out of town for a few days at a work conference in Oakland's China Town. The hotel gym was completely broken. None of the equipment worked. And there were guys having a clandestine meetup in the spa. The conference was great, I met a lot of really nice people and made several good contacts. I ran out of business cards. I also need to see the chiropractor after sleeping with the window open.

Jane when I was reading your post initially I thought you meant a bed to sleep in. Lol, I figured it out after 'planting'. We don't have too much pollen yet. I plan to make full use of my netti pot to keep my allergies down this season. Mom, Dad, and I are still feeling the effects of our stomach bug. Britt (older brother) is recovering from his root canal nicely. But, he is still sore.

Tricia-I hope your neck and shoulder are feeling better. I have had that pain down the arm, for me its radiating from the neck usually.

Hi Ladies!

I'm glad it's Thursday. I went for a 3.5 mile run yesterday. My legs were a bit sore after my weight workout on Monday but they thawed out after mile or so. Planning to do a workout with all my sisters tonight. We had fun on Monday.

Friday is a rest day and then a 10K trail race on Saturday morning which will be more for fun than anything else. It is not a PR kind of course.

Alisha-I'm glad you had a good time at the conference. I should have clarified sooner that it was a bed for planting.

Hi Tricia.

I did 30 minutes of a DVD from Netflix with Michelle Dozois called Dance it Off. The choreography was really tricky and there was quite a bit of jumping/medium impact. It was so dancey I found myself marching in place sometimes, my space isn't very big and I can't do a lot of turning unless a Fairy Fitness Mother turns my bed into a disco floor!

Jane enjoy your race!

Tricia I saw that you enjoyed a Cathe DVD on FB, way to go! I love 4DS!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

I had a great time at the trail race on Saturday. I loved the course and although there were some roots and things it wasn't too technical. I did my worst 10K time but I ran with my sister most of the way as she was recovering from a knee injury. We were also a bit wary of getting lost but the course was well marked and there were plenty of volunteers. I love running in the woods. It's so peaceful.

I did not workout today. After the race yesterday I came home and worked in mom's yard. We planted two raised planting beds with peppers, lettuce, beans, tomatoes, carrots, kale, chard and parsley. So excited to see everything grow.

Alisha ~ good job staying with the workout and modifying. I am not good with lots of dancey stuff.

Hi Tricia!

I did 30 minutes of low impact step. Its embarrassing, but I'm back at Basic Step, I need to work into the other workouts. I'm just not there.

Jane I am glad that you had a great time!! I hope your sister's knee is feeling better soon. I also love to run in the woods. That garden sounds delicious!

Tricia I know you are working out, I see you post on FB. Good job!

How did it get to be Thursday?! Not that I'm complaining. Life has just been busy.

Monday was an upper body workout. The last one with sis as she went back home on Tuesday. Yesterday was a 4 mile run. It was 80 but since it's only March there wasn't any humidity. Tonight is a med ball workout with ball slams, elephants, sits ups and some other stuff that I can't remember. There is a chance of rain but hopefully we will be able to get the workout in.

My sister's knee is getting better. She bought a Tommie Copper sleeve and it really works! Knee is better although she has some minimal pain she said that she can run on it and that's all that matters.

Alisha ~ great job on the workout. It's not embarrassing, just keep at it.

Tricia ~ I'm glad you are getting your workouts in.
