Jogglers March 2012

Alisha-Stephen only snores when he's really tired. It's not often and with my coughing and hacking every night hasn't helped! It's been a rough week! Hoping for a shift soon!
 
Tricia- Thats good, I tend to be sensitive to the apnea issue because my dad has the worst case on record of a person that was actually alive. :eek:

Jane- Hi! do you take a couple of rest days after a race?

I'm so sorry about Peanut's sight! Hug that dog for me. Seeing eye cat lol!!!

I bet its just allergies. Its spring. Sniffle season.

I enjoyed my run walk yesterday. My yoga last night was pathetic, I literally fell down. So today, I'm having a yoga day. I hope my balance is better. Tomorrow will be a joggle. I hope to end with a yoga stretch, but hey, I might not have it together. I am still sore from my KB (now that means kettle bells doesn't it?) workout on Tuesday. I may have to change my running route, yesterday the blue bull dog jumped through her fence and wanted to come with me. She wasn't aggressive, but I can't be accused of puppy theft!

Alisha - sorry yoga didn't cooperate with you yesterday. I know people who live with sleep apnea. We just snore when exhausted . . . Or sick. I can't begin to imagine what I sound like right now!

Peanut says thanks for the hug! Hope yoga treated you better today!

It's so hot today! Yet, I still had to wear tights and a sweater to work. I despise working in an office where the only person who matters is the boss where the damn thermostat is concerned! This is just the beginning, too! Argh!

Can't wait to. Get back to my workouts!

One more day! I could have crawled under my desk for a nap today. I am so ridiculously tired, it's hard to explain. It's almost painful! I'm breaking out my neti pot tonight. Should have done it on Monday.

TGIF!

Yesterday I did my backyard Prisoner workout:

Do 15 swings, farmers walk (right hand) to the other side of the yard, do 14 swings, farmers walk (left hand) to the other side of yard and repeat down to 1 rep.

Then using the same back and front route - did walking lunges one way, 10 jump squats, then bear crawls back and 10 squats. I did 5 rounds of that and then did 100 crunches (a variety).

Today is a rest day as I have the Fire Ant 5K tomorrow morning. I hope they don't put fire ants on us and we have to run to some water source (LOL!!). Welcome to South Georgia. I will also get my 2011 Run and See Georgia Plaque for finishing in the top 20 of my age group in points for the Run and See Georgia Program. My friend has been carrying it around with her since January.

Alisha - I took one day rest after the 1/2 marathon on Sunday. I only did a short upper body workout on Tuesday and a 3.5 mile run on Wednesday. It seems like it has taken me longer to recover from the 1/2 than my previous half marathons..maybe because this was my fastest 1/2 marathon. My legs are finally feeling good again.

I also signed up for my 5th half marathon in late November, also in Florida.

Enjoy your joggle today. Sorry about the yoga. I have no balance and patience for yoga so good for you for going for it again. Have you considered carrying dog spray for your runs? I haven't done it yet because I haven't had a bad doggy scare yet. Someone suggested it to me once.

Tricia ~ Hugs to you and peanut. Allergies are killing me too! It's so beautiful that everything is blooming but my car is yellow (it is supposed to be red)! We are suppose to get some rain tomorrow so maybe that will help.
 
I don't know what I'm doing today. It depends on how sore I am. I want to go for a hike. Its sunny and warm. Tomorrow will be a Cathe step workout.

Tricia-I haven't gotten one of those neti pots, do they really work?

Jane - LOL! That would make for a great PR if you were covered in fire ants and to find water! Getting older stinks! Ha! Enjoy your weekend and thanks for the hugs. Peanut's been on the steroids since Wednesday night and no change. Didn't really expect anything.

Alisha - hope you had a nice hike! Yes, my neti pot helps a lot! I've read that it's even recommended by doctors.

I'm feeling much better! Should have started using my neti pot sooner! Doh! Should be back to working out on Sunday.

So tired! Hope the pups let me sleep in tomorrow!

It is a beautiful day here in South Georgia.

Yesterday I ran in the Fire Ant 5K. I didn't see one ant although I did see a dead snake. The course was hilly and it was cloudy and rather humid. I felt really good throughout the race and finished strong in a good time. I got first place in my age group, my friend took second and my sister third so we were all happy. We got medals and a couple of other goodies. I kept telling my friend and my sister that we were got to get starter ant farms. :p

This morning I slept in and did a running circuit around the neighborhood. It was 8 Rounds of: running around the block, 10 ball slams, 20 squats and 30 crunches. I am now officially toasted!

Tricia - I'm glad your feeling better. Yay!! Don't push yourself too hard in coming back. Take it easy, ok?

Alisha - I hope you're having a great weekend!
 
Jane - Glad you had a beautiful day! We have cooled down again and it was cloudy all day. I'll definitely be taking my runs easy! I till think my breathing may be a bit off, so I won't be breaking any records! lol

Our concert was fabulous last night! Bela Fleck and the original Flecktones were amazing! 4 of the best musicians in the world! We got home around 1:00 am and were exhausted! Had to clean the kennel today. Poor puppies had to wait too long for us to come home and one of them peed. I felt bad. They're not used to us being out much.

Glad your race went well and you had a nice workout today! It's back to cold weather for us for a while.

We should have our new computer system and computers up and running at the office tomorrow. We shall see . . .

I did a jog/walk this morning. It was a bit cold out there, about 40 deg. with a bit of an icy wind. I cooled down with the band Stretch max. Tomorrow will be a Cathe workout. I'm leaning towards one of the LIC workouts.

Jane- Congrats on your race! Your workout looks like fun!

Tricia-That concert sounds great. Once upon a time I used to do audio production and when I was in college I took a course in how to mike a concert. I quickly discovered that it was just too loud for me:eek: I still belong to the club though! I'm going to get myself one of those neti pots.

Funny that you didn't do concert wrk because it's too loud!

Jane - great workout today! They were at the office most of the day fixing bugs, but it looks like we're finally all set.

Don't know if either of you use Cardio Coach interval workouts, but the founder, Sean O'Malley died yesterday. It's such a shock. Don't have details of what happened - if he was sick or it was an accident, but it's very sad. He was so young and such a wonderful person!

No run for me tonight. Way too cold and the wind is brutal today! Will pick up tomorrow.
 
I did an extreme oldie, Kathy Smith's Fat Burning HI/Lo workout was a hoot. I just got it in the mail from Collage. I had ordered Jillian Michael's 6 pack Abs, Shiva Rea's 'More Daily Energy', Kathy's Fat Burning Pilates, and her 'Fat Burning Classics." Its raining out there. If it dries out in the AM, I will go for a joggle, but if not, then I can do a Cathe workout from the LIS series.

I'm working on watching my carbs and calories. I'm adding more veggies too. I have some cooked broccoli, turnips, and rutabaga in the fridge. I went to Sizzler today with my Dad and a colleague, I was good, I drank water, had a small steak and some shrimp with broccoli. I didn't get the salad bar and I was glad that I hadn't because otherwise I would have been too full. I ate being over fed.

Tricia- I forgot to buy the neti pot! I had heard about Coach Sean, that is so incredibly sad. The wind has been very cold here too.

Jane- Thats a great workout! Its always a trick for me to remember not to work so hard that I can't walk for a couple of days. I usually don't feel it in the workout but rather the next day (doms I guess.)

Happy Wednesday!

I took a rest day yesterday and today I am going for 3-4 mile run.

Tricia ~ I heard about Sean O'Malley. That is so sad.

I would not have run in the cold or wind either. Yuk! It's been so warm here, I forgot what cold and windy feels like. We already have the A/C running and it looks like it will be running through September. I don't think we have many cool days in our future.

Alisha ~ I hope you got your joggle in. I wish I had more time to prepare food. My weekends are so busy. This weekend I'm at my mom's. We have to take her car in and then I will be doing stuff at her house. On Sunday I have to take my car in, go shopping and try to get a 8 mile run in as well. I don't know how people do it with kids and work a full time job.
 
Jane- I have no idea how married w/kids peeps do it either. Did you get that 8 miler?

Tricia- Do you put a special rinse in your neti pot or just saline?

Its gray and damp but not raining right now. Yesterday afternoon cleared up to a bright sunny spring like thing. I even took off my coat!:D I took yesterday as a rest day, I had a bad night of IBS. This morning I did Cathe's Cardio Supersets. I loved it, but its only 41 minutes without the step add on, so next time I will be adding that for more of a calorie burn, this time it was only 275 calories burned. I was hoping for more. I plan to do some yoga this evening. Tomorrow will be a jog/walk for 500 calories (however long that takes!) and stretch max.

Finisher - 1 minute of farmers walk and 50 kb sit ups

Perform 5 Pull ups and 10 Push ups between each kb complex, swing couplet
(1 KB Complex + clean, squat, push press, squat)

Alisha ~ Nope...the 8 miler is for the weekend (sorry confusing post yestery). I ran 3.72 miles last night.

I'm glad you are feeling better. We have had nothing but sunshine for a long time now. It's so beautiful and warm in the mid 80's.

Jane - we've been getting all the rain and cloudiness and it's been cold again. Ick!

Glad you two are enjoying your great workouts! I'll be back at it next week. Finally getting all the gunk out and able to breathe again!

I know I'm missing responding to some things, but on the iPad, I don't get to see all the thread while I type. I'm probably missing a way to do it . . .

Anyway, tomorrow is Friday again and I'm so glad! I live for the weekends!

Laid off

I've been let go from my job. They said it was not my fault, that I didn't do anything wrong, and that they would give me references and not to feel bad about the whole thing. I was ok with it, I had thought maybe they had too many of us and that the store was a bit too slow. I have made money that I wouldn't have had otherwise, I have made friends, and I have learned new skills. I should feel bad about it, but I don't. Go figure. Anywho, back to the 'look for work' mode.

I did go for a jog/walk this morning. It is starting to warm up. It was in the 70s this afternoon. I plan to do a mish mosh of the step section from MIC and Jillian Michaels' Shred it with Weights tomorrow.

Tricia-Great, then thats what I will do, just the saline. You know what if I had lost my sight and had a hypothyroid, I would need extra loves too.

Jane- that looks like a great workout!!!

Hi Alisha! Sorry about the job. Glad you aren't going through withdrawal! I get depressed and cry a lot when I lose a job. It's only happened twice and once I was leaving any way, but I still get emotional.

Glad it's warming up! We're back into winter mode and probably will stay there until May like usual.

I've had a bad day. Feeling like giving up on everything and just depressed. Time is not my friend right now. Things will swing back up eventually. Just not today. I really wish I had a friend or two up here. It would make things much more tolerable to have someone thang out with at times and just have fun. Sigh.

Okay. Enough. You guys don't need my bad mojo.

Tricia- Well, I felt more sad today but my family is very supportive. I have decided to paint and sell my paintings online. I'm leaning towards a south western style. I'm only half joking. My mom is an artist and I'm not a bad painter. Dang it, I wish I lived closer cause then we could go for a long hike and we would both feel better. How is Peanut?

I skipped yesterday's workout. I wasn't feeling well, I had a terrible headache. This morning, I did Jillian Michaels' Shred It with Weights and then the step only premix from SJP. I was down a pound this morning. Go figure, because I've been eating Haagen Daz chocolate, chocolate chip ice cream.:eek::rolleyes: Tomorrow may be a joggle. But, it might rain some more, if it rains it will be the 'low impact kick box' premix on Kick Max.

Jane- Did you get some exercise today?
