Welcome to February! It's a new month :) we can move forward with our goals and staying on track.

Over the past week I had a minor leg injury that I went to the chiropractor and had to heal from. So I did not get that kind of exercise that I normally would prefer. However, this week I have been cleared for takeoff. So, I will be starting out easy with some cardio tomorrow. Everybody in the house has a terrible cold right now.

Happy February!

Today was a 10 mile run. I have one more run before my half marathon one week from today. I feel pretty good about it. My sister's knee is recovering nicely. She is still planning on the doing the race although see will make the final decision the morning of. My friend is also running the race with us.

Alisha ~ I am glad that you have been cleared for takeoff. Let us know what workout you decide to do.

I hope everyone in your family feels better soon!!

I did a 10 minute solution DVD with Latin dancing on it. That was fun yesterday. Although later, when I went to do some grocery shopping, I seem to bruised my right totes. So I texted my chiropractor to make sure that everything is in place properly. I have a DVD from Netflix called yoga dance. I hope it's better than the last Netflix DVD that I got :)

Jane I hope that your half marathon is a lot of fun! :D

Hi ladies!

I realized I hadn't been here in quite a while! Been thinking of you both!

Alisha - Sorry you injured yourself, but glad you are back on the mend.

Jane - Sorry about your sister! Glad she's starting to feel better!

I have been doing okay. We've been dealing with some horrible weather. We had a blizzard, then another snow storm one week later and another one on the way. I'm sick of it. My car froze shut on Monday because we had snow, then sleet, then rain, then snow and temps in the teens. It finally thawed out today, so I can drive it to work tomorrow.

I have been working out, but still not eating as well as I should be. Feeling good though!

Can't wait for spring!

I am taking it easy this week. I did an upper body workout on Monday and rest days yesterday and today. Tomorrow will be my last run before the race on Sunday.

My sister's knee is much better but she has not decided what to do yet and has not run for about 2 weeks. So it's a day to day thing right now. She will do a bit of running on Friday and make her decision on Saturday. If it was a 5K I think she would do it but a half marathon is another story. She does not want to re-injure it as we head into the race season. I don't blame her. I'm not sure if I would chance it.

Alisha ~ How was the workout?

Tricia ~ I remember those days of blizzards, sleet, ice and frozen cars. I do not miss it at all. It was been rainy here but rather mild compared to last year but still I am looking forward to sunny and warm days.

I am just checking in. I finished my 10th half marathon today. The weather was perfect and I had a pretty good run. I struggled at the end but I seem to hit a wall at the 10-11 mile mark and just wanted the dang thing to be over. No PR but I did better than I thought I did. My sister chose not to run the race and ended up talking to a retired woman doctor from our town. Saw some old friends as well.

Hope you guys are having a great weekend!

Hi Jane!

Glad you had a good race! With all the races you run, I bet it's tough getting a PR any more! Good job though! I think your sister did the smart thing. Plenty of time to run lots of races this year! Better to take the extra time for healing and strengthening that knee!

I've been doing pretty good with workouts and have been tapering my eating habits. I find that I can drop the excess pounds, rather slowly, but still get them off if I eat super small meals. I'm talking mono meals like just a piece or two of fruit or a salad or a bowl of soup - nothing heavy and no large portions. I also have to keep myself away completely from fast food.

We have been getting so slammed with snow this winter! We just had another big one today with almost a final total of 8" of snow or so. The roads were horrible and, yes, I did have to go in to work. They let us go at 3 and I had one of the attorneys take me home. Stephen drove me in and he said there were lots of accidents when he picked me up for lunch. We didn't go home, but to a cafe that was really close to the office. We get one day of clear weather and then we're expecting more snow on Thursday. Spring won't get here soon enough!

Hi Alisha! How are you doing? I understand you guys are getting some pretty bad, heavy, flooding rain around where you are!

We have been really sick around here. Mom and Dad got a terrible eye infection. They have been on antibiotics and I have been looking after them. I started to get sick last Tuesday. But, I took garlic oil, used my netti pot, and have not gotten sicker and my eye did not get bad. It is ttotm and I am taking it easy. I'm worn out. Its a good thing that Mom is retired, I'm between contracts, and Dad's current client is very understanding. The entire region has had the eye infection. I know at least 10 people that have had it. Luckily, my brother did not get it in his eye, just had cold like symptoms. My glands under my chin are swollen and I'm fatigued. But, my throat is better and my eyes are fine. Its just hard to focus to study for the CASP exam or to be of any use to anyone at all.:(

Tricia- We did have some rain, but no flooding at our house. We live at the top of a hill. Today it was in the low 70s, so if you want spring I am pretty sure we have it! I will try to push some of this sun in your direction.

Jane Congrats on your 10th 1/2 marathon!! I'm sorry that you hit the wall and didn't PR.

I took this week rather easy exercise wise. I did an upper body workout on Monday and took a 1.5 mile walk on Thursday. This morning I did the following workout:

4 Rounds
Run 200m
20 Swings
20 Squats
20 Upright rows
20 Jump Squats

Then I worked outside for about an hour or so cutting back the crepe myrtles. The worst part was hauling all the branches to the front of the house.

Tricia ~ Sorry about all the snow. Snow is fun when you are a kid but once you grow up it sucks. I remember my senior year of high school. We had multiple large snowfalls in a very short period of time. The city simply ran out of places to move it so eventually they stopped plowing the smaller roads. We were off from school for a week. I loved it and because I was a senior, we did not have to make up the extra days unlike the underclassmen.

Good job on the workouts. I stick to the smaller meals as well. I can't have the bigger meals either. I find it hard to eat fast food. I just don't enjoy it anymore. It doesn't make me sick and I just don't enjoy the taste anymore. I think the only place I would go is Zaxby's because I love their fries.

Alisha ~ {{{Hugs}}} to you and your family. I hope you are all feeling better soon!! Please take care of yourself and feel better soon.

I would love some 70's weather. It has been chilly that last couple of days but at least the sun is out.

This morning I run 6 miles. It was sunny, in the high 40's and breezy. I felt good!

My upper body is sore from yesterday's workout and cutting down the bushes.

Hope you guys are having a great weekend!

Hi ladies!

Alisha - Hope everyone is healing up well and you've still managed not to get any sicker! That must really be tough to deal with so many sick people and avoid getting sick yourself!

Jane - We can't even see our yard! The pups have been having a terrible time getting out into the yard. Every time Stephen shovels an area for them, we get dumped on again.

We just got another 10" between yesterday and today. Now we have the high winds which are keeping us under blizzard conditions even though it isn't snowing any more. We have another storm coming through Tuesday night into Wednesday. It has been like this all of February since the last week in January. I would love some of your sunshine and 70 degrees! We have been brutally cold too. Our windchill for tonight is going to be around -23. We haven't seen temps above 28 for a while now - it seems that way any how. I'm a bit concerned when it does start to warm up because all this snow will start to melt. Hopefully, it won't warm up too quickly so the meltoff can be slower. We have 3-4' icicles hanging off the house right now.

I've had a no workout week, but the eating has been good so it all balanced out. I'm having minor issues with neck and shoulder pain again. I'm trying to hold off on going to PT again.

13 days to March and 34 days until official spring. Sigh. Hope all this snow stops soon!

Tricia I am sorry that your weather is so lousy.

Jane I think that cutting bushes counts as a workout. I know I would definitely still be sore. Thanks for the hugs.

I did basic step today. My glands are a still a little swollen and my throat is slightly sore. Our spring has started, it was in the low 70s today, sunny, and clear. I hope we get some more rain, we really need to get out of this drought.

Hi Alisha!

I would be happy to send you the 5' or so of snow we have in our backyard!

Sorry you have still be under the weather! At least you've been able to get a little exercise in!

I wish we had 70 and sunshine! Of course, slowly, slowly. If the temps rise too fast, we will have a real mess with some serious flooding issues! There's way too much snow everywhere! I'm already worried that they are saying we're going to hit 40 and have rain on Saturday. That could be very bad! Our icicles have stretched to about 5' long for the longest ones! I just hope I'm not standing under one when it breaks!

I've been really bad for about a week. No workouts and eating red velvet cupcakes! lol Hey, it was Valentine's Day and made me those and yellow cake with chocolate frosting for Stephen.

Hi Jane!

I did an upper body workout on Monday but skipped my run last night because it was cold and windy. I could have done something but didn't. I will workout tonight.

I have a race on Saturday and hope to do it. My sister has been sick but she is better and still wants to do it.

Tricia - I hope you have a slow thaw.

Alisha - I wish I had your 70's weather but we will be there on Saturday and Sunday briefly.

Tricia I like a good cupcake.

Jane I am not a fan of running in the wind because it dries out my skin. Ouchie. I am sorry that your sister is sick. I hope she feels better soon. Glad to see your weather will warm up soon.

I have a chiropractor appointment in a couple of hours. I have been watching what I eat, but not a lot of workouts yet. Soon, soon! I can hear Cathe cackle in anticipation already!

Happy Sunday!

Yesterday I did a 5K race. It was a long drive but very pretty on 2 lane roads through the country. The course was hilly and I didn't do my best time but came in 2nd in my age group so I got a nice trophy. My sister finished in 4th about 30 seconds after the 3rd last place finisher. She was happy just to do the race since she was under the weather earlier in the week and had knee problems.

Today I ran 2 miles mixed in with some other exercises. It was in the 70's today but a bit cloudy in the afternoon. The 70's are going away for a couple of days but will be back later in the week.

Tricia ~ I love cupcakes.

Alisha ~ I hope you get to working out soon. It's good that you are watching what you eat. Hope you had a great weekend!

I went for a hike for over an hour and I burned 500 calories.

Jane congrats on another good race. I am sorry your sister didn't feel good.

It was sunny and warm, in the 60s.

I went running last night. It was cool and damp but my friend came over so we did it together. We ran 3.5 miles. Monday I did a total body workout.

Tomorrow morning I will do a running workout mixed in with other things like tire flips and rope slams.

Alisha - great job on the hike. I wish we could go hiking but it has been cool, rainy and damp. It is warming up next week but will still be cloudy,

Hi ladies!

If I don't workout, I forget to check in here! Meaning, I haven't had a good last 2 weeks of February. Been a bit of a slug.

Jane - I hope your sister is feeling better!

Alisha - How are you doing?

Got a new car in New Jersey yesterday. It's actually a 2012 Mini Cooper S. Traded in my 2005. It's pretty! Blue with black stripes. Glad to have a car with low mileage again.

We are getting more snow today. 4-8 inches is what they are calling for. Ugh. At least it's going to warm up a little. We'll finally get into the 30s consistently this week with a couple of days actually in the 40s! I'm so excited, but we are supposed to have crappy weather most of the week. Snow, sleet, rain, more snow. We've hardly had any melt off still. Just a little itty bit, then we get more. Is it golf season yet? lol

Aiming to do better this month. I'm amazed at how much the weather has affected me this winter!

Take care girls! Even though I'm not on here much, I think of you two all the time!
