Jogglers August 2013

TGIF!

I am so sore from yesterday's workout. Yikes! My upper body and core are a bit fatigued. I did Mr. Spectacular using a 45# barbell and then did the presses with the same bar but ended up going down in weight on the presses after a couple of rounds. I did 6 rounds total.

Tonight will be the running/leg workout below:

1/2 mile run
30 walking lunges (30 each leg)
1/2 mile run
30 jump squats
1/2 mile run
30 weighted leg presses (30 each leg)
1/2 mile run
30 hot potato squats

Tricia ~ Happy Birthday to Stephen. It's always nice to know a fellow Leo. His birthday dinner sounded fabulous.

Alisha ~ I hope your mom feels better. I hope you can get in some fun while you are in San Francisco.

Happy Friday evening ladies!

Alisha - I hope your mom is okay! Sending her healing energy! Enjoy SF! Hope you get some time to have some fun while you're there! Rhythmic Step is awesome! I don't know what Knockout Rockout is. I'll have to check it out! Thanks!

I know what you mean about needing cash flow to buy workouts! That's why I haven't pre-ordered the new Cathe workouts even though I'd like to have them.

Stephen's favorite cake is just a yellow sheet cake and chocolate frosting so that's what I make him every year.

Jane - No kidding you're sore! I like your workout for tonight!

Picked back up with All Out Low Impact HIIT. It wasn't all that all out for me, but I did my best! I can already feel myself doing better with each workout. That's good. Unfortunately, I'm not eating clean enough for it to make a difference. These last couple of stressful work weeks have had me junking out every day. That is changing next week. no matter what, I'm cleaning up! I have to! I have a wedding in 2 weeks and I have nothing I can wear that fits! I know I won't be able to get into anything I have in that short a time, but at least, maybe, I can buy something that will look decent. :(

Tomorrow, we are going to my Beachbody Coach's house for food and drinks. I haven't seen him and his wife, also a Coach, since I was still a coach and we met at Super Saturday a couple of years ago. That ought to be fun!

Sunday, I want to go to the SUP race down in Narragansett. I know Stephen will want to sail. Sigh. My bruises still aren't healed from last weekend. I'm off on Monday and thought we'd be able to enjoy a whole day off together, but now, Stephen has to go to UConn to tutor a student. Guess I'll tag along. Don't know what I'll do for however many hours . . .

Anyway, have a terrific weekend you two!

I took an unplanned rest day. We went car shopping. Bleh. I have settled on a Honda Fit in white. It hits all of the parameters. I had to eat out today, but I did pretty good, I stuck to soup and a 'small' brownie at Mimi's. The chicken gumbo was very tasty. I will exercise tomorrow.

Tricia- Thanks for the healing vibes! I think Knockout Rockout is Cathe's new kick box workout. Well done on your workout!! I find Cathe's HIITs to be a bit daunting. Just a plain cake, huh? Yeah. . I might get bored with that, but hey its his birthday and not mine. What is your favorite cake flavor? Yeah, one of the things my Mom likes to do is fantasize about winning the lottery and mine is moving to NJ to hang out with Cathe all the time:D I figure thats even better than buying the whole discography on hard drive!

Jane- Thanks for wishing my Mom well. Yikes, I would be so super sore from any of your workouts!

I anticipate having internet access in SF.

I'm doing a mosh up of Kathy Smith's Cardio Knockout and an old VHS tape called 'Kick It'. Just cardio, no butt busting. I will do that tomorrow when I do Low Max.

I will spend the AM studying for tomorrow and washing clothes. Then, I have to meet with a broker about a car. This particular deal may not go through, it depends on several factors. Then, tomorrow is Low Max, packing, and driving to the city.

Alisha

I did end up getting that car. Its a 2011 white Honda Fit. I kind of felt guilty driving up the drive way in front of my old car, like I was cheating on her.:p

Happy Monday!

I did an upper body workout on Saturday and a 9 mile run on Sunday. Tonight will be Legs.

Alisha ~ Congratulations on your new car!! That's awesome!! It's always hard to leave your old car behind. I was like that when I got my new car last year. I had to leave her at the dealership.

My favorite flavor for cake is chocolate but I'll just take any cake as long there is LOTS of frosting.

Tricia ~ I'm glad you got your workout in. Hope you had a fun time at the party.

Hello ladies!

Alisha - Congrats on the new car! Glad you have something dependable for a while now! I fantasize about winning the lottery too, but I don't ever buy tickets as my husband thinks it's impossible to win, statistically speaking. I also fantasize about not having to work and what I would do with my days! That's fun!

My favorite cakes are red velvet and german chocolate! I also like a caramel cake occasionally!

I didn't know the names of all of Cathe's new workouts, but everyone is posting links to the different ones and I'm getting the urge to get them even though I know I can't or at least shouldn't!

Jane - Had a great time at the party. Nice work on your run and your other workouts this weekend!

I spent my day off today with Stephen at UConn. He had to tutor a student, so I sat around reading and on the internet until I got tired of having to sign back in every time I didn't type anything for 60 seconds. We were there longer than I had though we would be. We had lunch at 1 and then went to the Dairy Bar at the Ag School of the campus. They milk their own cows and make their own ice cream right there. It was delicious! I also saw that they had cage free eggs from their own chickens! We came home after that and got home right at 4. Not exactly what I had thought we'd do today, but, oh, well, at least I didn't have to work! Back on the workout wagon tomorrow.

I am taking a rest day today.

My sister and I fantasize about winning the lottery too. The most we've won was $109. We play frequently with my mom and other sister but we take turns buying the tickets...not every week but a couple of times a month. My Aunt won $2000 one year and my sister worked with a guy that won 8 million.

Tricia ~ I'm glad you had fun at the party and that you have a short work week. I am looking forward to my vacation at the end of the this month.

Hi Alisha ~ I'm hope you are having fun in SF.

Jane - Cool! I think the most I've ever won was $10. I just don't have that kind of luck. I never did well at casinos either or even football pools! lol

Had a tough workout last night. I guess I didn't eat enough for lunch because I kept getting woozy and clammy like I was going to pass out. I managed to eke out a bit of a workout for 30 minutes, stopping often to lay down and put my feet up. I gave up after that. Better today and I did Yoga Max. I only had fruit and nuts yesterday for lunch because my rice had gone bad. Live and learn!

Hi Alisha! Hope SF is treating you well and your class is going well also!

I'm home now.

Monday: I did Low Max. Then I drove to SF. I barely made it to class. I had to pay 30$ each day to park.

The Mac Tech class on MS Office 365 was so full of information that I had a hard time keeping up. The instructor spoke really fast, just this side of an auctioneer. I learned a lot.

I ate dinner at the 'Hot Spud' which is a place that is like Subway where they make your jacket potato however you like right in front of you. I got mine with shrimp, corn, black beans, and chipotle sauce. It was super tasty!!! I stayed at the Days Inn on Lombard St. The parking was free, the staff was nice, but the stairs were very scary! So narrow, it was just the side of climbing a ladder, so next time I will ask for the disabled room.

Tuesday: Got up early. Didn't sleep well due to a flashing green light in the room. It was horrendous. In the AM, after I got everything out to the car, and I drove to class, I realized I had forgotten my pillow :(. I called the hotel, and they said they hadn't found it :(. I guess they couldn't tell the difference between it and one of theirs. I had breakfast at a place called Pescatore's. The young lady that waited on me was so very nice, she got me in and out in under 30 minutes even though it was a sit down restaurant. I had a green smoothie and a 2 egg breakfast with house made rye bread, sausage, potatoes, and 2 over easy eggs. They even had real butter. I couldn't get around all of it, so I left the potatoes. I had to get to class.

I passed that 'getting familiar with MS office' accreditation exam on Friday, boy was I surprised by that. I was guessing:eek:

Class was chock full of networking on the Mac and on the internet. They served us lunch: barbecue beef, barbecue chicken, salad, rolls, muffins, and two kinds of pie. I just had 2 oz. of beef, a 1/2 piece of corn on the cob, and a tiny roll. I was still stuffed from breakfast even though it was 2 pm before we ate.

There was even a session about Command Line. Long about 2 pm, my brain went on walk about. This was when I realized that attending the Conference in the fall was unnecessary, because I do better with about 1 1/2 days of information, then I need a break to absorb it all.

What should have been a 2 hour drive was a 4 hour drive due to traffic right on Harrison St. Once I got on the bridge, it wasn't so bad. Sheesh. I left about 6:30 pm, I got home at 11. My brother Catton had warned us about that and I forgot.

I went to the Apple Store today with my Dad to get his ipad replaced because the docking port was misbehaving and sending erroneous audio signals out the dock even when it wasn't plugged in. They replaced it for 50$ because we have Apple Care.

I will workout tomorrow. I'm leaning towards Step Fit but it might be one of the other Classics. I have to put away a ton of laundry first. I have switched to a cup of coconut milk before my workouts and its working out very well (see, I thought I was funny, workouts, working out well:p)

Tricia- I can't do a workout if I don't have enough fuel in me to do it. I like german chocolate too. I have yet to find the perfect recipe, maybe its my chocolate supply that needs investigating. Your ice cream tasting sounds delicious!

Jane- I think the most I have won was 5 bucks. :p It cracks me up to buy a ticket when I know I won't win. What a lucky guy to have won 8 mill!!

Yeah, isn't funny how attached we get to cars, its like they are pets.

I like frosting too, my favorite is meyer lemon cream cheese or a really good chocolate frosting.

Yesterday was a 3 mile run. It was suppose to be 4 but the skies were threatening so we turned around sooner which was a good thing because it started pouring when we got back to my street. It was only in the low 80s because it had a rained earlier so the temperatures were great!

I am working out tonight but it might be an indoor workout as we are suppose to have rain today. We are back to the rainy afternoons again.

I'm counting down the days until vacation the week of the 25th. YIPPEE!!

Alicia ~ I'm glad you had fun in SF. I love the concept of "Hot Spud". We need to have something like that here although I really don't eat potatoes that much anymore.

Good job on trying to absorb that kind of stuff. That's all I hear around here is tech stuff and my brain shuts off completely.

Tricia ~ I'm glad you're feeling better. I think that is what happened to me a couple of weeks ago while running.

I'll be back later today or tomorrow to post my workout from today.

I will do one of the following: tai chi, belly dancing, or Cathe's 4DS double step cardio.

Why? Because I tried Garcinia CAmbogia and it interfered with my birth control and made my period start a week early.

So, I am tired, grouchy, and want to eat all the ice cream in sight.:(

Jane- yeah, I have a limit to what I can learn on the tech front, beyond two days and my brain goes on walk about. Great job on trying to run in spite of the rain.

Tricia- Did you get a workout?

Alisha

TGIF!!

Tonight will be something with running and legs but I haven't figured it out yet. It's raining now and is suppose to be raining then so it might be an indoor workout. Well see what the weather does.

Alisha ~ Ice cream sucks. Does that make you feel any better? {{{Hugs}}}

Hi Tricia!

Well, nothing happened yesterday. My Mom got super sick, so I went down with my brother and picked her up from work. She was having neurological problems like when I was a kid.

I am doing Power Max this morning and then getting dressed and driving to work to do paths of travel inspections.

I will workout tomorrow, I think I will go for a hike, in what is like a whole month or something. I haven't been feeling like it because of my hours, but now I think I do feel like it. We have been having lots of smoke and it has been bad air everywhere.

Alisha

Alisha - Hello! Sorry about your lost pillow! I'm sure they knew they had an extra, but probably, like you said, couldn't tell which one it was! :(

Congrats on passing your exam on Friday! Sounds like you had a very productive time! I hate when traffic is all jammed up and I just want to get home! Glad you made it safely!

Nice that your Dad got his iPad replaced for just $50! Apple Care really is worth it!.

Hm, I like the idea of coconut milk before working out. What kind do you buy? I don't typically use coconut milk, just coconut water from fresh coconuts when I can find them.

No workouts this weekend. We had a very busy day yesterday! Went to the SUP race in Newport yesterday morning. That was fun! They really can move on those things! I can't wait to get one! Got some good pictures that I have to transfer from my card today. We got home around 11:30, then had to leave at 1 to go to Stephen's professor's house for the annual Pig Pickin'. It's a 2 hour drive. We had a nice time and the pork was delicious. He cooks a whole pic on the grill. Everyone brings sides and desserts, which weren't great this year. I couldn't touch most of them because of cheese and/or mayo. Ended up having a little pork with fruit, some greens and a tiny bit of a salsa. I had a couple of store bought cookies and one brownie for dessert. The cookies were tiny ones. Not sure what to call them . . . more like tea cakes? I don't know. Anyway, we got home around 9 last night. Milo still hasn't eaten, but is taking his treats. I'm going to try a different food or maybe moist food today and see if he'll eat that. If not, he's definitely going to the vet tomorrow. It's been 3 days since he's eaten real food other than treats. :(:(:(

No sailing today. Winds are 5 mph which is barely a puff. I have a lot to do anyway - groceries, dress for a wedding next Saturday and work on my garden. I need to take the greenhouse cover off. My tomato plants have outgrown it and I need longer stakes too.

Have a great day!

Hello Jane!

I wanted to workout today but its a rest day due to the fact that I have to go to work really early today. We have to beat the heat. Its in the 100s and there is a terrible fire at Reno/Tahoe. The smoke is horrendous.

I'm doing another one of Cathe's Cardio Hits. Then its off to work in smoke. One word: yuck. My throat is sore, I'm congested, breathing is less fun than it used to be.

I was hoping to drive to the coast yesterday, but my family has some dr. appointments and they need some support, so here I am. I figure, I might as well go to work and measure slope/cross slope with a smart level. Its the most fun that can be had with a smart level!

Alisha

I had a busy weekend. I did not workout Friday as planned because it was raining and I didn't feel like it. I did not workout Saturday either. Instead when to a Author Meet and Greet at the library. They had 18 regional/local authors from many different genres. It was really fun and interesting. I ended up buying 3 books and my sister bought 4 books.

Sunday was a 9 mile run and then a shopping trip to buy food/liquor for our beach trip next week.

Today will be legs.

Alisha ~ So sorry to hear about all the smoke. I know it's horrible because we have had fires around here from time to time and it's just awful. I wish we could send you some of our rain.

{{{Hugs}}} to your mom. I hope she is feeling better today.

Tricia ~ I'm glad you had a fun day on Saturday. I hope Milo is better today. At least he's eating.

Have a great day.
