Jillybean's BB DVD Premix Rotation

Hey guys! I had family over for dinner tonight and a function to attend after school so I almost skipped my workout...but I decided to just go for it and did SS Upper Body Blast tonight around 10. That's the beauty of exercising in your own home(so I tell myself). I'm glad I went ahead and did it. The bicep work in this is killer and I fatigue quickly on those seesaw tricep pushups. I also found the dumbell tricep extension on the stability ball to be quite challenging with the 12's. I could barely finish the last rep on the first set so I dropped down to 10's on the second set. I am quite happy that I kept a 25lb. BB for both sets of the preacher curls, but on the concentration curls I could only do the first set w/12's then had to drop down to 10's. Whew! I don't think I like the dumbell rotator cuff side raises on the stability ball as I don't think I'm feeling it where I am supposed to.

Lori,
Believe it or not my legs are not sore today. I am shocked b/c my legs were quaking by the third set and I mean QUAKING.

Have a great weekend!

SS upper body was tough! Especially because I haven't purchased a stability ball yet. Doing those exercises, especially those shoulder sets leaning over a step is quite uncomfortable on a lactating woman's chest, if you know what I mean!! Ha ha - I won't be doing that again! 'Til tomorrow!

Good Morning....I am not wanting to do the cardio today, but I am going to do it. I am going to do the 90 minute workout, and probably stop when I get to the 3rd Challenge and start to lose my footing. I will make sure I get in 1 hour of cardio. I have 2 Christmas things today. Eating has got to be ok.

Angela- My legs are still stiff today!!! That Lb Blast blasted my legs, I love it!!!!

Emy- I hope your Ub feels better today!!! That did not sound like fun!!

Lori

I did the SB WU, section 3, and challenge, then the hi/lo add on...great cardio workout. I added the floor work premix then the ankle weight premix from L&G then did the L&G stretch.

Tomorrow I plan on resting and working my abs.

I have to change around next week's workouts to fit in a run or two. I plan on running with a friend on Monday and taking my rest day on Christmas so here is what I am planning for next week:
M: Timesaver all upper body segments back to back/run
T: SJ&P WU & Step/SB sections 1,2,& 3 add on (no challenge)/abs&stretch
W: PP total body (2 sets)- possible short run
Th: Rest
F: L&G Xtreme standing only
S: KP&C WU & kicking & punching drills/SJ&P hi/lo add on/KP&C abs&stretch
Sun: KP&C cardio conditioning premix then Timesaver lower body
Later!

P.S. Hey Lori, if you are not feeling up to cardio you may want to do a shorter cardio. I always shorten my workout or lower the intensity if I feel like pushing myself to workout on a day when I just don't feel like it. That way you aren't giving in completely and still feel good about working out. Also, sometimes we just need an extra rest. Take care!:)

Angela- I did do it, I did not want to, but I did. I did SJP WU, SJP cardio, Hi/Lo, and then the first 2 combo's of Step Blast, then the cool down and stretch. I was glad I got it done. I am going to have to practice Step Blast more, i nned to get that one down!! I want to try the Challenge. It looks fun.
Lori

You'll get it down Lori! It is a lot of fun. Try to do it and learn it while your fresh. After you've previewed and gone though it once it gets easier. The first time I went through the entire workout I fumbled but was amazed at how much better it went the second time around. It all just comes together. This series is so much fun. I am trying to think of a way to incorporate some of the Itensity series into a rotation with these workouts patterned a little bit after the Look Great in Eight rotation. One week Circuits, one week strength, one week high reps, and one week supersets. Have a great day!

Angela- You figure it out, and I'm game to try that one with you too!!! Sounds like fun. I enjoyed my rest day today. But, I am looking forward to PP, 2 stes tomorrow!!!! I love weight days.
Lori

I have been so busy - hard to get on the computer during the holidays, but I just wanted to add my belated Saturday check-in. I did the cardio as stated and threw in some ab work. Today is rest for me, then will continue tomorrow.

What is your vote for toughest day last week?

I will definitely say it was Monday - 82 minute KPC/L&G premix!

Yes Emy I would have to agree with you that the KP&C/L&G 82 minute premix was the toughest out of the bunch.

Today I do the Time saver upper body segments back to back and then I run 5 miles.

Lori, my brain is just spinning with the possibilities using this series and the Intensities and a few oldies.

You guys have a great day!

That SS day was the hardest for me. That 1/2 hour, on top of the cardio, was a killer. I think today, with the 80 min. PP, it will be a toughie too. I am really looking forward to the Timesaver workouts.

I am going to try a new approach to eating today. I have been trying to find the perfect eating program for me without dieting. So, onto a new day!!!! I will check-in later!!
Lori

I found aspects of the Timesaver Upper Body weight work to be quite difficult. The push up section was killer and the shoulders got me good too. I did the first two ab sections on Timesaver workout 2 but just gave up on the pikes so I put in C&W and did the ab section from that and finished with the C&W stretch. I can do all the ab/core work from the intensity series except those blasted pikes. My arms are just too wiped out and even though I'm trying to focus on using my abs my arms/shoulders are just dying and I just CAN'T do them. It really makes me mad.
x( I will just have to keep trying. Have a great rest of the day!

Hey guys,
When I was running yesterday I began having pain in what my runner friend called the I T B Band? A couple of times it was a shooting pain and today it is a minor dull ache. I'm just aware of it today... not great pain or anyting but I think that I need to take it easy. I am going to try and keep up with some light cardio but I don't think I should be doing any weight work. I also(go figure) think I pulled a muscle in my upper right back shoulder blade area/chest area so I am afraid to do any upper body weight work. This just sucks but I am going to have to start all over with this rotation when I have healed. I don't want to push and cause injury. Boo hoo... you guys keep up the great work. I will start all over with this rotation next week or move on to another one. I may even just do the Timesaver workouts next week to ease into it with my "injuries." I think I pulled a muscle doing some of the weight work on the stability ball by going down too far or something on the chest flys. I am really bummed about this. ;(

Angela- I am so sorry to hear that!!!!! I am going to keep on with this rotation. I have never completed a rotation in my life, and I am enjoying this one. I hope all of your injuries get better soon.

Emy, where are you???

I did the cardio today, but I had such a bad headache, I got thru combo #2, I went to abs, and stretched. I probably got in 45 mins. of cardio. I am glad I did what I did. My headcahe was pounding, and I didn't want to do anything, but I thought cardio might relieve some tension.

Have a good day you two!!
Lori

Angela, I'm sorry about your injury and I wish you a speedy recovery!

Lori, I'm still sticking with it! But I'm at the in-laws and everything has been chaotic. I've done all of the workouts this week. I really enjoyed L&G Xtreme! Is there a way to do Timesaver all upper body in one lump without having to go back to the blender for each workout? I found it annoying having to do this and couldn't figure out any other way. I'm glad tomorrow requires no equipment. Lugging around all of my workout stuff while at relatives homes is no easy task! Hope you are sticking with it - this will also be my first ever completed rotation!

emy

Hey guys...I am so bummed that this happened. My runners knee is better and I was even able to do Timesaver #5 yesterday. My chest/back muscle is still bothering me a little so I am being ultra careful with the upperbody work. Today I plan to do KP&C. Sunday or Monday I have planned out one week of workouts then I will start this rotation over or do the rotation Jillybean posted incorportating the Intensity series and the BB series. I also can't wait to see what Cathe posts for January. Let me know what you guys decide to do after this last week on the BB Premix rotation. Maybe we could keep checking in? Have a great weekend!:7
Angela

Angela- I would love to keep checking in. I have not been working out, I came down with a horrible cold on the Legs and Glutes Extreme day. I am going to do C&W cardio tomorrow, and the Timesaver Leg workout, then the next day, all of the UB on the TimeSaver. I love doing rotations with someone else, it keeps me going. You hurt yourself, Emy never came back, so I died. I was very sick though, but I would love to start a new rotation. Anything you want, I will follow, just let me know.
Lori

Lori,
Why don't we just start over with this premix rotation on Monday? I really want to do it from start to finish. I feel it is a good and well rounded rotation and I'm so into the Body Blasts right now. What do you think? Before we commit whole heartedly I would like to look at what Cathe comes up with for January if she posts it before Monday. I really like checking in too. Remember to rest until you get over your cold or believe me you will just be prolonging the agony and will end up not able to work out for a longer period of time. Get well soon!

Emy, I'm glad you are well and able to stick with the rotation. Keep up the great work.
Angela:7

Angela- That is fine with me. I was enjoying it also. I will check in tomorrow to see what you want to do. You lead, I will follow. If Cathe doesn't post, we start the Premix Rotation on Monday, right??
Lori

That's the plan! Monday it is! Today I am doing KP&C. Tomorrow I will rest. I will have to mix it up a little as I did last time to get in my Monday runs. I'm looking forward to it! I will start a new check in thread on Monday as this one is getting kind of long. "Talk" with you on Monday!
Angela:7

Good luck you guys. Angela, take care of your injury and Lori, I hope you are feeling better!
