Jillybean - just gotta tell you...

Cathlete
I found your posts on the rotations forum. I was so excited because the last time I did one of you rotations two summers ago, I was very successful with the weight loss. I am doing the premix rotation right now and will move on to the BB/IS rotations after that.

After only one week of counting points and doing your rotation, I've already lost 1.5 lbs! Hooray!

Counting my points, doing my Jillybean rotations, and I feel like I'm back on track. What more can I say besides..

THANKS! You're the BEST, Jillybean!

Susan G.

Hey Susan, your welcome! What a nice post to stumble upon this Saturday morning. Thank you so much! Remember, I can come up with rotations, but you're the one doing all the work. Congratulations!!!

(And here's to many more rotations coming up featuring Cathe's new DVDs!)

Jilly~I just want to say it is sooo good to see you back here with us all and posting once again your very informative posts! You're great!

Yes, it is nice to read your posts again. I still haven't tried your "Redemption of SS/PP upper body" workout, but I plan to try it tomorrow if I still have power after the ice storm comes through (central NC)

Okay ladies, I'm blushing here. Thanks so much! I just am all smiles as I type this! It was tough being absentee from these forums. I missed ya!

Mogambo, your "Redemption of SS/PP upper body" cracked me up!

Jilly, I've done a whole volume of "Jillybean's Rotatio...

You are the rotation queen!!! I've been compiling Cathe's monthly rotations into a little Word document (y'all remember my compulsion to compile this stuff? ;-)) and a few weeks back I started a whole new volume called "Jillybean's Rotations". I must say, I think it's headed for the NY Times Bestseller List. :)

Your ideas are amazing. Can't wait to see what you come up with for all the newbies who will be joining us after FitTV and the new beginner/intermediate DVD's get out there!

RE: Jilly, I've done a whole volume of

Jillybean did a fantastic rotation for me recently....I was extremely touched by how someone could take the time and trouble to do that just for me - thanks Jilly!

Josie :)

And I'll third it! Jillybean, you, A-Jock and Clare have all helped me immensely with everything you all contribute to this forum. Many thanks to you ladies!

Cheers,

JMFrane is biased. She has to say something nice because she figures I might blackmail her with my top secret "Jo-Jo Information" if she doesn't. Nonetheless, I'll take it. Thank-you you guys! I am so happy right now!

I, too, have printed out a bunch of your rotations. And I've said this before, if there's a post with the name, "Jillybean", I read it.

You're also very funny! I wanna party witchoo!

Well Susan, I love karaoke although I can’t carry a tune and I've been ‘cut-off’ in bars before even though I never ever touch alcohol. Perhaps the grenadine makes me loopy. If that’s your idea of a good time, then come on over!

Here is the "Redemption Workout". If this link doesn't work, I found it on the DVD Forum under the thread "Benefits of SS/PP". Right now it is the last post on the thread by Mogambo.

Hope it works!

Susan G.

Oops! The above link is Mogambo's version of the Redemption Workout. Here is JB's version. Either way, both look great!

Edited to add correct link.

I was going to post that over here so Jillybean would see it, since she disabled her profile. I have a lot of time on my hands today since I am in NC and I'm sleeted/iced in, waiting for my power to go later today. I am also slated to do Leaner Legs with the stability ball from PLB tacked on, and it's amazing how much that workout just begs for some procrastination.

Here is that post from yesterday.

>>Jillybean, I tried your workout today.I did upper body and abs. You suggest above that a workout can be created from the "accursed" SS/PP DVD and I agreed to try it. You have to go back to the Mix and Match menu after each exercise, which is kinda a pain, but I admit that by doing the exercises repeatedly, rather than in the alternating PushPull or Superset way that allow so much rest, I was able to get a good workout. I resent having to work so hard to make this DVD useful, but now that I have it I am sure I will use it, as I do get tired of PUB, ME, SH, etc.

Here it is for your information.

PP warmup
PP bench press 2 sets (30 lb dumbells 1st set, 25 2nd set)
PP chest flies 2 sets (20 lb dumbells both sets)
(I think this needs one more thing for the chest, maybe a set of slow and heavy pushups, or another set of flies with less weight.)
PP dead rows 2 sets (45 lb bar)
SS Pullovers 2 sets (20 lb dumbell)
PP one arm rows 2 sets (25 lb dumbell)
PP front delt raises 2 sets (16 lb dumbell, then 14)
PP rear delt flies 1 set (5 lb dumbells)
PP Fonz back flies 1 set (I hold one pound wrist weights in my hands)
PP Inverted shoulder press 1 set (this kills me)
SS Seated overhead press 2 sets (16 lb dumbells, then 14 lbs)
SS Lying triceps extensions 1 set (12 lb dumbells)
PP Dips, then kickbacks 2 sets (8 lb dumbells, this got real tough at the end of the second set of dips)
SS seesaw tricep pushups 1 set (had to modify)
PP hammer/traditional curls 2 sets (14 lb dumbells both sets)
SS concentration curls 1 set (12 lb dumbells)
PP abs, then all 4 SS abs
SS stretch

I guess in this same vein, many workouts could be created just doing the same exercise over and over until you're wasted. The upper body from SJP, any of the Superset things. So, ok, this will salvage the DVD from oblivion. I do appreciate it, and I am sure it's good for me, but I am still disappointed in the two workouts. I acknowledge that many people like them. Many say, "I don't always need to kill myself, I use them for easy days." Fine. I need easy workouts too, but what I am missing with the BodyBlast is a tough upper body workout.

Sigh. I'll be fine. Thank you, Jillybean.>>

If you hate doing it, then by all means don't, I just really liked this mix, and thought you might too (since I know you train really heavy, imho). For extra chest work, I do a set of tricep push ups from SS, doing them the same tempo, but as a decline 'regular' push up rather than a tricep push up. I actually liked the mix n match method because it gives me time to stretch and switch equipment. I actually use the mix and match for CTX and MIS since I do a chest-triceps-back-shoulders-biceps set up. Oh well, I'm glad you tried it.

JILLYBEAN IS QUEEN OF THE ROTATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
