Someone asked what the first week of the diet looks like , was it you Nina ??
Anyway, he has a basic plan you can eat everyday.....very simple and straight forward. It's what we are doing now, since I had JUST grocery shopped and spent a fortune on foods NOT on this diet.......so we'll do this because it's foods we have. Then we can pick and choose from 5 different weeks he lays out.

The one we are doing this first week....is
breakfast three whole eggs, two pieces of toast with butter (we use Egglands best & egg beaters ) no toast or butter for me
snack handful of walnuts
lunch tuna salad on pita bread (am using ww sandwich thins)
snack 1 cup cottage cheese
dinner- grilled chicken or steak with vegetables and brown rice

I think today I'm caving and having a fruit smoothie inbetween lunch & dinner. My sandwich was good but just did not fill me up.

Dinner was 1/2 a chicken quesadilla on ww tortilla with salsa. Really want an ice cream twix bar (Why is this even in my house?) but I decided against it b/c I knew I'd have to write it here.

Becky, those diets can be rough because it's just never enough food for people who are working out. Listen to your body!

Busy day! Just finished typing up a presentation the wellness committee is giving next week to our local ISD. I haven't done a paper since 1998! Hope it doesn't show! Going down to workout in a few:)

Katie, you sound much better today! I think I need to join you on that treadmill thingy! Our basement's finished so there's really no excuse!

Kate, you don't like honey? I love it with butter on a piece of bread:) Or in tea or cookies or...

Colleen, I love grilled cheese sandwiches!! Your version sounds awesome! I just saw a recipe in this month's Fitness with Havarti, fig jam, and pear slices-yum! Awesome workout!

Angie, I had no idea that twix had ice cream bars. Good thing I haven't discovered them yet. But I try not to look when I am in the ice cream aisle.
Becky, menu looks good but I agree not enough for someone who works out.
Becky Sue, I forgot to answer your question about my active recovery next week. I have a Bosu workout that I got for Cmas and Travel Fit that I will do next week. I also have insanity CCB and CR that I will try to do 2 days next week. Not sure on the other days but light cardio and abs.
Clintonya, hope you feel better. Sorry you are sick.

Slow afternoon at work and I just heard it is going to snow here on Saturday. DH is best man in a wedding on Sat eve so that should make this weekend interesting. I need to call around and find someone to shovel just in case we get a lot.
 
Got my workout in-I did Athletic Step and survived! It was really fun! Only had trouble with a couple of moves that I'm sure I'll nail the next time. Off to shower and take the girls to dance then McD's for dinner to celebrate their great report cards:) I will be abstaining!

Angie, great job on your first test! I enjoy those wo’s too. I am seeing improvement from just doing them for the past 4 weeks! Sending positive vibes for another good eating day for you tomorrow!

Colleen, I hope the snow doesn’t happen this weekend. The first snow storm was enough for me for the season :)

Katie, that is great about your husband installing the tv above the treadmill!

Still sick, but hanging in there :) Today was my rest day anyway so that was good. Eating has been good and I have been drinking lots of water.

Good evening ladies!

My upper body is SCREAMING today after all those pushups yesterday. I did Hiit 40/20 today followed by STS Stability ball abs. Biggest Loser comes on soon...I usually do some running on the treadmill during that. My clinic patients, since I am in residency, often don't have a lot of resources but they all seem to have cable and watch the Biggest Loser. So I encourage them to walk in place at least during the show (at least 20 minutes...which believe me is HUGE for them). I tell them I'll be right there doing it with them (but I run on the treadmill instead). That really seems to get them to do it. I've been doing that for the past 3 weeks (since the season started) and those who have had follow-up appointments or who I've called with lab results are all doing it! One patient has severe lower back pain and leg issues...so she just flaps her arms like a chicken. But she's doing it! I love it!

Angie, hope the test went well. With that major will you be working in a hospital doing speech therapy? Aphasia is such a huge problem. I can't imagine thinking something but being unable to say it.

Becky, I love the Raspberry Chip too. Luckily, I shared 1 scoop with my daughter and I think she ate more than me. :)

Kate, hope your throat feels better soon. How can you teach gym class with a sore throat?

Klaudia, when do you start trail running? I just moved back up to Ohio from Florida and I don't remember when it is supposed to get warm enough to run more outside.

Morris, great job on the mileage! I am so envious of you!!!

Robin, I agree with your prescription of honey for Kate. But adding a bit of brandy and hot tea make it extra nice. :eek:

Katie, awesome news about the TV over your treadmill! I love watching TV while running.

Colleen, that grilled cheese sounds scrumptious!
 
Dr. Becky, Let me just say that YOU ARE AWESOME! I love how you are looking after your patients!:D
