Hi everyone!! my computer died and right now we're borowing a friend's computer and I can't log in as competition bound or aimee!! So I am now aimeefit:)!!
Anyway, I have some news and I'm afraid you all will be disappointed in me. I have decided not to do the contest in May. I am not ready to withstand the type of work(or abuse) again for the next 2months. I'm sorry. I'm just going to go back to being good ol' health and fitness concious Aimee. My family is relieved too. My kids said I'm crancky and tired all the time when doing a contest, REALLY???? I hadn't noticed my mood had changed;-)!!! LOL!!
Anyway, I'm sorry and I'll be back for checkins and chats and talking about tall this stuff that I love!! No more working out 3 times a day that's brutal. 2 I cn handle, not 3.
I get my new computer on Wed so Thurs I might be on here with another name. Who knows?? Anyway, see you all tomorrow at the checkin:)!!

Aimee

Aimee,

I feel quite certain no one is going to be disappointed in you. You are fantastic and have worked soooo hard. I think you are wise to make the decision to not compete in May. You recognized that it's just too much....for now anyway. Heaven forbid your kids see you cranky. LOL!!! I'm not competing and my husband already thinks I'm cranky. Good luck on future endeavors!!!!! Yippee for the new computer.

(Which BTW, you looked GREAT before you started training again!!:)) I know I will be very happy to see you back here posting and chatting with us all. There's a whole group of new fans too. We've missed you and I am so glad you made a choice that is right for you AND your family!;-) Welcome Back!

RE: Hi Aimee

Disappointed in you? Never. You have done an excellent job and pursued a dream that you had and accomplished a great deal. It sounds to me like you have decided that there are many facets to your life and that exercise is one of them but not the only thing. As well, your health is important and to that end, so is having a menstrual cycle (I am assuming yours must have returned by now).

Just once, I think I might like to attempt to get as lean as you did (I have more than enough muscle at this point), however, I hear that the strict dieting is so onerous that I have so far not dared to take that plunge. Alternately, training for a marathon may be in the cards for me once I get a running base happening again.

You are an inspiration and I for one am proud of your accomplishments. The word "disappointed" shall not be in my vocabulary when thinking of you. You go girl!

Kim

So glad to "see" you!

No way are we disappointed. I was wondering after hearing about last time why someone would want to put themselves through the dieting because it sounds so unhealthy. Especially when you are putting out a healthy image. But then I don't really know all that much about it. I'm just glad to have you back!!!

Andrea

Congratulations on making the right choice for YOU

You're smart for listening to your heart, your body and your family. Good for you! Be very proud of yourself for your accomplishments - even thinking about entering a competition is beyond many of us! Living healthy is the most important thing - so is enjoying that family of yours :)!

RE: Bless your all's hearts!!!

What you guys have said means so much to me!! I'm going to enjoy going back to my "oldself!" And chatting with you all again!! I honestly feel that a 1000lb weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Not just in the dieting part either, but in the exercising and my outlook for each day in general. I honestly believe that this is the healthiest choice for me as a woman and a mother. BTW, I got one cycle back, then the very next week I had started my precomp training and dieting and POOF! There they went again! They'll be back though, a sure sign of health there.
Ok, I'm signing off and going to bed so I can get up exercise and post in the checkin tomorrow:)!! Have a good one everybody!!

RE: Bless your all's hearts!!!

Goody good good! Aimee, I'm so glad for you and your family! I did the same thing- I was going to school on top of working but after Sept. 11, I put school on hold indefinitely. My son was so glad and my husband was relieved. I was very very happy and able to focus on fitness more!

I just posted to the check-in and I'm impressed with your week- yowza!

Sorry to hear your computer died. It happened to me 2 weeks ago but I was able to restore the same old disk. I got a virus in an e-mail attachment. Can't wait to see your new posts on new computer! Congrats on your choice!

You did the right thing. I think about last fall when you had your two jobs, the kids, a husband, the competition PLUS studying to be a personal trainer......yikes! Right now I have a job, no kids at home, studying to be a personal trainer, and that's enough!!!!!!!!

There is only one Wonder Woman, and she's in a comic book! Don't think for a minute that we are disappointed in you....it took guts to do what you did. You know you can do it, but the time was just not right now. We all have to realize our limits, and learn to say no.

Time to chill and be good to yourself.

Thanks guys!! You all are the best!! I am really feeling good about my decision, no regets, well...... I want to keep my weight down and ever since I decided not to do this, it's been a food free for all:)!! That's ok, tomorrow I start a new eating plan, one that allows me carbs, but still low enough in calories to where I can maitain my weight!! I'm looking forward to justbeing a health nut again!! BTW, me and my DH experimented last night and came up with an awesome oreo mudslide pie!! If anybody wants the reciepe, just let me know!

Aimee

Yes! Always on the look-out for a good chocolate dessert recipe!

I'm with Honeybunch, I'd love the recipe too! Aimee, you're an inspiration and never a disappointment, I promise.

Hi Aimee! I don't think any of us are disappointed in you. We all think you ROCK!! I remember seeing your photo at the fitness competition when you came in 2nd and I thought what drive and determination this one has. How does she do it all? Taking care of your family, work as well as working out 2 times a day!! I always thought what a superwoman you are. What's wrong with me? But I think it's great anyway that you decided to quit this round of competing. It is an awful lot and you probably were missing so much time away from your kids. I bet your kids missed a lot too. Welcome back and we'll be happy chatting with you. Take care. My best, Kathy

Thanks Kathy!!! I feel better already!! Actually, I always insited on working out at home so me and my kids wouldn't miss each other. The only time I go out is my walk/run in the a.m. and for some reason my kids don't want to get up at 5 a.m. to go with me. Spoil sports;-)! He he he!! Anyway, that for the encouragement!! It means a lot to me!!

Aimee

Oh my goodness!!!!

I think I gained 10lbs just by reading this recipe!!!! It looks soooooo decadent!!!!!!! MMMMMMMMMM :-jumpy

RE: Thanks guys!!

Wow, Amy! What a recipe! I'll save that one for a mega-cheat meal. And, BTW, just want to tell you that you are an inspiration to me. I rooted for you the whole time you were training for the competition, but I'm so glad that you feel free to live your life the way you see "fit."
Amy

quick question, Can you direct me in how to do a v-up or a press hold. What muscles do I need to get stronger to do them and how long did it take you to perform them correctly? Thanks! Debi C
