It just isn't fall until...........

I have lived in Michigan all my life and am having a hard time not thinking it is still summer here in Clearwater Florida at 88 degrees today. I have only been here since July. Bought some pumpkins yesterday and have some Halloween Decorations up, I also love the Pumpkin Spice candles and have them burning everyday all day also Febreeze also has a Room Spray called autumn spice or something and it smells wonderful.

I have been hitting the re-sale shops for some warmer clothes because I hear it will be chilly in the evening and early mornings just doesn't seem right to be purchasing it when it is this hot. I am enjoying it though because I don't know how long we will be working here and it could end anytime. We will be home in Michigan for most of December.

All the different colors of leaves falling. It's so beautiful!

We went apple picking Sunday and I've been busy baking all sorts of delicious apple treats; apple pie, apple bread, apple dumplings...yummo!

Sadly, the maple trees here in CT were attacked by a fungus, so the colors aren't as spectacular this year. I'm still enjoying fall though. I've been doing a lot of hiking and trail running. This crisp cool air is pure heaven!

On the homefront, nothing beats a hot bowl of homemade soup, or a comforting stew that's been simmering in the crockpot all day. Speaking of which, I should start a soup thread!

Pumpkin ANYTHING!!! And soups of all kinds. I make soup several times a week. And stew! I LOVE stew!! :D

I had pumpkin ice cream Sunday! With a scoop of peach on top. The last of the summer fruit mixed with the delicious fall gourd. DH called it an Indian Summer cone!

It's not fall until I have a kitchen full of fresh apples! I love, love, love em! But I'm such a brat that I refuse to eat them any other time of year except for fall. I wait all year for apple season when I can go to the farm down the street and get fresh, just-picked Macouns. YUM!

Oh, and I also love the cool nights where I snuggle under my comforter in my pj's.

And bring on the pumpkin-spice lattes from Starbucks! YUMMY!

You know, when you guys talk about pumpkins and apples and down comforters I always check your profiles to see where you live. Pumpkin spice candles. Ummm.

It just isn't fall here in Alabama until that darn humidity is gone. I think we are almost there, but our low so far as only been in the 60's. I ready for cold weather, cold rain (we dont get snow here) and not freezing from the A/C in the house, in church ( I swear I have seen my breath a few times in church from it being so cold ) and in the car.

I love putting our down comforter on our bed and lying on the couch under blankets...The smell of sweet potatoes in the oven and a candel light on the kitchen counter.

OK so now I feel like eating and sleeping...not good when I have a to do list..
