Isn't This a Neat Idea?

I was just previewing MIC, as I haven't done this tape in a long time and was thinking about putting it in a rotation. It seems so dated, that a thought struck me--wouldn't it be cool to re-do some of the older, more dated, Cathe workouts with more modern, motivating music, sets, clothing, etc. It would be great to see the crew doing an oldie, but a goodie. They could call it MIC 2006, or something on that order. I, for one, would pick it off the shelf more frequently. Just a thought.

Wow, Becki, they are notdated as far as moves go. The clothing maybe.Even the music is lots of the originals of what we hear remixed today. The moves are challenging in Step Fit, Power Max, Step Heat, and all the "older" ones.

I don't know, I like the old clothing & music. It brings back fond memories.

If Cathe's gonna film anymore workouts, I want them to be brand spanking new!

Lynda,

I've often thought to myself while doing these older workouts, "How would Cathe change things if she were filming this workout today?" I agree with the rest that her older workouts do hold up well after all these years, but I wonder whether she'd tone down the impact a bit in some of the earlier ones, and maybe do them all on 6" instead of 8"? And slow the bpm in BM and MIC a bit? It's also interesting that she no longer does the long cool-down dancy segments at the end of the workouts. Would she keep them in, or substitute a "challenge" like she does in SB and RS? I think it would be very interesting to see what she would do with these workouts today.

Cheers,
Sandra

I would think that she'd increase both the impact and the bpm (the increase in both is evident if you compare workouts like the "classics" and more recent ones, or even Imax2 to Imax3). But she probably would use a 6" step instead of the 8" in the old ones.
