IS and/or Tank Top Rotation

I have just started the Tank Top Rotation, preparing the arms for all the cute summer clothes. But you girls just keep tempting me with how much you love the Intensity Series, that I am going crazy(er) from wanting to order these dvds. My question is which do you think is the best for arms and shaping up in general. Do I need to order the IS or stick with the TTR - or would you use a combination of the two. Need some advice please.

Check out the rotation Fitnessgoddess created over at http://www.fitnessvideofanatics.com

It's called Tank Top Rotation - A Variation. You should be able to find it under Public Rotations. It's a 12 week rotation that's based to a large degree on Marlene's original rotation, but has substituted several of the new w/os from the IS. I think you'll see great gains either way. :)

Thank you Kristine. I have added the public rotations to my favorites. That is so neat to have all the rotations listed like that. And it looks like I will be ordering the IS dvd today. I knew I really needed it. I can't wait to try PUB, PLB & Boot Camp, everyone has made them sound so great. Thanks again.

Hey Kristine, thanks for plugging the site & rotation! Liz (gettingthere) has been working really hard on getting this site going. Even though she's got this site up & running, there are still things she would like to do with it. Keep checking it out & you will see different things. They are tweaking & changing things almost every day.

Rotations are being added fairly often, too. I am adding Cathe's April rotation to the list this morning.

I would need more info. from you as to what your goals are. What do you want your arms to look like? Muscular & defined? Do you put on muscle easily? If its the latter, then I would suggest the Pyramid Series or Muscle Endurance. HTH, Kathy

Hi Kathy
Yes I want my arms to be muscular & defined. I love shapely arms. I think they look very youthful. My arms are harder to put on muscle than my legs. Do you mean I should skip the Tank Top Rotation and just use the Pyramid Series and Muscle Endurance or combine them in the TTR. Oh I ordered the IS this morning - I can't wait. Thanks.

Hi Summer! If you really want to see significant muscularture in your arms try it this way:

Using Slow & Heavy (6 wks.):
Do 3 exercises for each body part lifting the heaviest weight that you possibly can using good form but eeking out only 6 reps & doing 3 sets. Take 3 min. rests in between each set. For legs use Slow & Heavy/PLB & PS. I've been doing PLB in its entirety or doing the 1st half of PS SLA & then stopping it at the bodybar part & doing PLB stability ball.

Using PS Series (6 wks.):
3 exercises for each body part but instead of 6 reps. try 8-12 reps. doing 4 sets resting only 1-1/2 min. You'll probably have to go lighter in weight for these.

Using CTX any 3 exercises you desire for each body part for 6 wks. but this is where the fat burning stage comes in. Do 5 sets of 15 reps for each body part w/only 1 min. rest in between sets. This work is exhausting. After these 6 wks. you'll start it all over again.

Just to let you know of the great strides I've made I couldn't get past 15#'s & now I'm up to 25#'s. This is my 2nd go around of this. I don't have any fat on these arms; they look good if I do say so myself. Let me know what you think. If this isn't for you then try using Slow & Heavy for 6 wks. take your measurements before & after and then go on to doing MIS or PS for 6 wks. & then PUB, ME, PH just for muscle endurance. Good luck! Kathy

This is where you have to experiment. While Kathy is recommending you use her rotation, I did a similar rotation & I did get great strength gains using slow & heavy & pure strength but didn't get the definition until I started doing TTR. I did the Tank Top Rotation as originally written by Marlene123 last year & my arms look phenomonal.

Kathy has great advice. So does Deborah. Mass building rotations are usually different than cutting rotations. However, I have found that Deborah's "TTR-a variation" rotation combined the best of both!! Since incorporating CTX cardio and IS cardio into my routine I have lost some good bodyfat and my muscles are more noticeable. However, S&H is great for strengh, MIS great for mass, and IMAX great for getting leaner. This is why I say the TTR-a variation is great. It incorportates all of these with high intensity cardio.

I am doing the TTR-a variation currently and am having an issue with constant soreness. However, I am going through a good amount of stress right now, too. It is weights concentrated and usually I don't lift this many times a week. I could probably get good results with less, since my main problem isn't lack of muscle, it is lack of leanness.

No matter what you do..order the IS series. It is WELL worth the money just for IMAX 2 and BC cardio. In my opinion...
