Ipod Touch at the Gym

Cathlete
Day two and I have been using my gym styles download on my Ipod touch at the gym. It is fantastic to have all the weights at my finger tips! It's also like having Cathe train you right in your ear counting and encouraging you on the way. Not to mention no interruptions of telephone, husband, or the smell of dinner cooking.

I did GS legs yesterday and there were a few people somewhat intrigued by my moves. I could see them looking at me in the mirrors, especially some of the looks I have on my face when lifting as heavy as possible. I did lots of ball work and I was struggling a bit and you could see I was struggling. I almost fell off a few times doing those one legged roll outs. I have major DOMS this am.

I do miss the privacy of home to do the pelvic thrusts and letting the explicates fly when something is very hard. I think I was one of only a few that actually had sweat on their foreheads last night.

My husband bought me this Ipod and I freaked out when I seen how much it was and I thought I wasn't going to use it very much but it's turning out to be great! Hopefully, I can be some inspiration for some people to try a little harder.

I haven't used my iPod touch at the gym yet, even though that's what I originally bought it for almost a year ago, but I never go anywhere without it! I love it. I use it to check email, Facebook, and the Cathe forums. I have a WW point counter app, a food diary app, and a bunch of games. I've become addicted to podcasts. It's my favorite toy ever.

My touch is worth every penny. It stays with me at all times, music, games and a calendar that syncs automatically on-line, love it.

Do you look at the video much or mostly just listen to the cues?

Does the headphone cord get in the way?

You go, Dawn! That's exciting! I love my iPod Nano! I don't have a gym membership, but there are some of Cathe's workouts I don't even have to look anymore to follow, I just listen to her cues! This is going to be great! My DH got me the entire Cathe catalog for my birthday yesterday and I'm starting with STS on Nov. 2nd! I'm so excited and can't wait to start utilizing all the stretch routines and kickbox, and circuit, etc., etc. . . . .

Does the touch do what the iphone does, just without the phone?

Pretty much. The iphone has a camera and phone features in addition to the itouch. The ipod touch has wi-fi capability to connect to the internet over a wireless network.

The headphone cords are annoying. How much will depend on your tolerance levels. Mine are not too high but I still find it is very possible to do a workout even with the cords dangling around me.

I cant imagine how it would be possible to watch the screen all the time. I dont find it challenging to follow if I rely mostly on audio and some peeks at the screen.

I take my Cathe circuit workouts combining cardio and weights to the gym too. For all the cardio sections I hop onto a cardio machine and run / cycle / climb. It is still nice to hear the song and Cathe's voice even if I am not joining her. For the weights sections I follow Cathe.

I keep the touch on my forearm with the headphone cord up at the top. It hasn't been too bad yet.

I only look at the screen if I need to see how they are doing something.

Do you think I can download Cathe DVD's onto my IPod? It would be so nice not to write down the e-cises before going to the gym.

I have an Ipod Nano and adore it. I've been contemplating getting an Ipod Touch just for it's additional apps, etc. To get wireless network like checking email, etc...how much is that usually per month? Not sure how that works.

Thanks,
Heidi
