Insanity Monday 9/14

I guess I'm first today. Hope you all had a great weekend. I never got in any exercise this weekend so I flew out of bed at 4:45 am to make sure I did it today. I've said it before but for me it seems like it's the only way to ensure that I do it. So I'm going to do Cardio Power and Cardio Abs. This is my least favorite of the month 1 DVD's. I think it's because it never stops! I feel "insane" when I do this one....just trying to keep up! Well hope you all have a good day.

Good Morning Y’All!!

MIP is done and I really love that the last set is only done once. Power push-ups are getting a wee bit easier, but still not done at the crew’s pace (especially Chris) :p

Elena ~ Thanks for starting us off. Yep, 4:30 wake-up time is the only way I can ensure getting my workout done, too :)

Dawn ~ DH would certainly wonder WTH is a hip opener check-in?? ;):p

Marianimal ~ Great improvements on your FT. At first I wasn’t sure about the FT every 2 weeks, but it is a true gauge of improvements. ^5s :D

Serene 46 ~ Did you get your painting finished? I’m sure that had much to do with your soreness. I get sore from the cleaning the house so painting would just wipe me out. Good for you!! :D

Regina ~ Glad you are seeing these workouts getting easier for you. What week are you in? :D

I started W2 of Month2 today. MCC. This seems easier the even some of the first Month workouts, but that's just probably because the rest of the Month 2 workouts are so much harder (to me). Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it's EASY, just EASIER. ;)

Marriane, WTG on the Fit Test. I'm sure you'll do fine with M2. I may sound like a broken record but remember the 1st day will be the toughest and then it should get easier from there. :)

Brenda, Power through screaming. Is that why Shaun's always letting out that yell of his?

Elena, I'm another one who needs to workout first thing in the morning to make sure it gets done. I guess I get to
sleep in compared to you and Jennifer though. I don't get up till 5:30.

Regina, Sounds like you're doing great, it feels so good to see the improvements doesn't it? When I look back at where I started, I'm really impressed with my cardio improvements.

Jennifer, I'm with you on being thankful MIP only has one set of the final exercises. There's no way I'm doing another round of them at the end like some are (although I am bowing down to them right now). I have too much room to improve on the first round to worry about trying another.

Oh I forgot to tell Marianne, that Hip Helpers is a YogaLink DVD that concentrates on stretching and giving you Yoga like moves to open up your hips. I've only done the workshop which is just the introduction to the workout once yesterday and I did feel less tightness in my hip flexors during some of the moves.

You early morning chicks rock!!
I guess I could get up an hour earlier to get the workout in, but my current 4:45AM (on workdays) is as early as I can muster. Even on days when I am off I can't seem to get Insanity started until about 8 at the earliest, my joints need time to get used to supporting my frame before I start jumping around. It's funny, after I reached the mid forties, my ankles and hips have started to need a little extra time in the morning, probably a result of the running I used to do on a regular basis.

Enough of my complaining!!! Today was my last time doing MIC in this rotation. I did start my workout earlier than usual, so it was a little creaky until after the stretch, but what a great time..... gotta love those full body drills followed by plank pushups at the end of the workout. I tested out the "power through screaming" again on those punches and it really does help, maybe its all the exhaling one does when screaming that forces fresh air exchange. Whatever it does, it worked again for me.

Well, off to finish up the painting- just 3 windows and 2 doors to trim out and we are finished! Then I'm off to pick up roofing material and get some odds and ends for one of our rental units. This is vacation week for DH and I and we have a lot to do to finish the looooong list of projects !!

have a great day everyone

I am amazed that you ladies can do any of this workout before 9am! I can barely get through it after 9am somedays!

Today was CPR and I don't think I was pushing through, more like crawling through! ;)

6 days until the Mud Run! It's only 4 miles, but there are 29 obstacles, like rope swing, 10 foot wall, logs, cargo nets to climb over, crawl under. It's basically a military style obstacle course!

Have a great day everyone!

I finally realized that other than the opening music I do not pay attention to any of the Insanity music. In fact I can not tell you anything about it. Yesterday I picked the music off option and I not notice any difference. I am so busy trying to get through the workouts and sweating that I do not have time to notice the music.

Becky- the mud run soundl like loads of fun. It reminds me of my Army boot camp days!
Jennifer- I do think that the Power Pushups get easier with time

Elena and Dawn - I also like working out very early in the morning. I like having my workouts out of the way and done. If I do it first thing, my daily routine or unforeseen circumstances can not prevent me from getting it in.

Elena- Cardio Power took a while to grow on me too.
I am in my second week of month two.

What are all of your workout, exercise plans after Insanity? How do you plan to use the Insanity workout after you complete the rotation? When I complete Insanity, I plan to continue to do it twice weekly. If STS cardio arrives soon then I will do a STS cardio rotation and them do Insanity again maybe In January. Have any of you pre-ordered STS cardio?

Do you have any recommendtion for other nose bleed workouts like Insanity?

What do you think REV ABS will be like. Beachbody said that it will be released in October.

Yesterday I subbed AB Ripper X (from P90X) for cardio abs. Has anyone done Insane ABs yet? I plan to order the Sports Interval DVD and Insane ABS

Have a great day everyone!

I did the first 32 minutes of the HipHelper practice workout during lunch. That felt really great. So a big thanks to Sandra for the recommendation. I don't remember if she's back today or Wednesday?

Becky, the mud run sound like fun, but 4 miles? I hope the obstacles are either all at once or split up a mile or two away.

Brenda, I don't think I could workout in the morning if I had to leave at shortly after 5. Sometimes I wonder why I don't just get up at 7:15 since I don't leave till 7:30, but then I remember that my workout is my morning coffee. :p

Regina, I plan to do another rotation of STS after completely Insanity. I'm not sure if I'll wait for STS Cardio to arrive first or not. That will depend on what kind of update we're getting when the time comes. I know I will use the Insanity workouts here and there and insert them into rotations. I don't see myself as doing another full rotation again, but never say never. ;)

HI Everyone:
I just wanted to check back in today.

Regina: I have Insane Abs and the Sports Training DVD's. I've done them both and I have to say that the sports one is great, but the Insane one I find just ok. I do like Cardio Abs though.

My plan is that if STS Cardio arrives I will do a full STS cardio and STS weights for a full 3 months. I have to just ask this, does anyone else tirer of all the questions and complaining that folks do about the ship dates for STS! I was just reading a link, and it was so aggrivating to me. I work in Production and Development (for shoes) but we do all of our work overseas and quite frankly there are so many variables that hitting a target date is not easy unless your a huge company...and I'm talking huge like NIKE. I don't mean to get crazy but I just wish that these people would realize that they will arrive somewhere in the timeframe she said....and just leave it alone, she can't make it go any faster. whew, glad i got that off my chest.

Hello all

huff...puff...huff..puff
Just finished MIC for the first time. WOW! I did better than I thought I would after previewing it but there is certainly room for improvement. Man those suicide side jumps are killers.

I agree with whoever last week said that Ariel looked like she wanted to kill Shaun T after the first set of floor switch kicks. SHe looks like I felt!

Becky- the mud run sounds like fun and a tough workout. I hope there is a spa day at the end of the trail!
Regina- I hadn't heard of REV ABS. Is that something new on the BB website?
I'm excited b/c the Cathe power tower is on the way!

Have a great night all
Marianne
