INSANE PARTY - Tues, 9/8

Good Morning Y’All!!

MIP is done and gosh those power push ups get me every time - following those with the side to side globe jumps just pushes me to that edge :p

Elena - Congrats to sticking to the schedule. I’ve stuck to it as well without adding anything extra. Can’t believe next week is my last week

Colleen -FT, run & MIC - You go girl!!! :D

Regina - I like the deluxe workouts (Insane Abs, Upper Body Weights & Sports Training) and purchased them at the same time as the basic set. I like the variety to add to the Insanity rotation since I plan on doing this rotation quite a few times in the future. My results have been similar to yours as far as an overall slimming down and I love it :D I’m planning on a P90X Classic rotation after Insanity.

Sandra - I remember doing those floor switch kicks for the first time, my brain & body were just not cooperating in kicking my legs up - no coordination whatsoever. Now I finally got that rhythm - they are tough :D

Eunice - ^5s on MIC :D

Happy Tuesday (or Monday for some)!!:cool:

Good Morning Everyone!

This morning was MIP and I really struggled through the first 2 circuits. I am really sore in my glutes and obliques. I have not had soreness in my glutes in a long time. I agree with Brenda that I could have probably done the last circuit again but I was out of time. I think I do it again Saturday so I will try it then.

Jennifer, I agree the circuit is really tough. I was just happy I could get through. Hopefully, it will get easier.
Sandra, you are brave to try M3 with Insanity. I am going to wait until I am done to do that. Glad you are getting help for your back.
Marianne, how was B&G?
Annette, LOL on the electrSHOCK! Good thing STS is still in rehearsals. I will definitely need a break from plyo after insanity is over.
Brenda, I am glad to hear MIP is getting easier. I found it was challenging the first time through.

Good Morning,
I'm quickly checking in while the workout is still fresh in my mind. I'll have to catch up with everyone's weekend activities later.

I'm back at it after a long long weekend. I did some vigorous hiking, some canoeing and a lot of relaxing. :p

Today I did M2W1 Day2 MIP. My power push up were pretty pathetic again. (I do my own "working up to them" version) I did improve some though. I thought I was doing pretty good with the side push-up in the final circuit, but then we switched sides. :(

Overall, I did fine (for me), but I still have plenty of room to improve my form on many of the moves, whether it be jumping higher on the diamond jumps, or moving quicker in the balance moves, or doing a REAL power pushup instead of a suicide type push up (right now I'm jumping my legs in while my hands are still down and lift my hands a little later then my legs).

Pure Cardio done and woo! That sh** IS bananas!!!
I AM encouraged though that even being a looonnnggg way from keeping up with their speed, reps, etc that just when I think I am going to die, he throws in a *recovery* move and I live for another minute!
Can't wait to keep up with you ladies! Y'all are amazing!!!
Becky

Jennifer- Thanks for the info re Insane Abs, upper body and sport training. I will check with Beachbody to see if I can purchase them.

When I do the floor switch kicks – by the second set my legs never kick as high. Also I feel this exercise in my triceps. Maybe it is the way that I am holding my arms? After I finish the Insanity rotation I am going to do P90X (I finally caved in and purchased it). I also plan to add Insanity workouts at least twice weekly.

What is the Insanity exercise that you dread the most?

This evening after work I will do MIP. I think that MIP is my favorite of the Insanity workouts. It does get easier with time.

Everyone have a great day.

Regina

Hello all-
Did my first Cardio core and balance yesterday. I hadn't previewed and was expecting just stretching and core. Then when Shaun started the warmup I was thinking "umm helloooo-recovery dude!" It wasn't hard but wish I had a picture of the look on my face when I realized there was still cardio involved. Seems like the title would have tipped me off but no.
Colleen- I think B&G is my favorite lower body DVD. It always makes me sore for at least one day and in this case, 2 days. Feels good to remember those muscles are there!
Jennifer- I don't know how you do these workouts first thing in the AM. I would be pathetic first thing in the am. I have Shaun's upper body workout but I haven't used it yet. How would you compare it to say CTX upper body or 4DS upperbody? I was going to do CTX upperbody tonight with CCB but maybe I will give Shaun's upper body w/o a try.
Becky- So true on Pure Cardio. That is a killer.
To all of you who are on the 2nd month. I previewed the first 2 month 2 DVDs last night and my only question is "ARE YOU PEOPLE INSANE!!!!!??????" I suppose that is a rhetorical question though!
I feel like I should get credit for 500 calories burned just for watching the 2nd month DVDS. I have a great amount of respect for all of you who are already there.

good job everyone!!!

Max interval plyo!!!! CRAZYYY !!But I survived yoohoo!!! and I'm happy,a lot to improve but this is the first day that I do this one, and I feel like that was good, I try to keep up whit them, when I'm looking at them when I go down to the floor that's another story:confused:.
Good job everyone, Cathe keep us on good shape, good endurance, we can do anything right?:p;)

Good Afternoon Y'All!!

Just wanted to say hello to the chatty Insaners ;)

Colleen - My obliques were also really sore when I started M2, I think due to the side suicides & side push-ups :)

Dawn - Welcome back and good for you getting back into the workouts. Sounds like you kept active during vacay and you had fun. Your power push-ups sound like mine :D

Becky - ^5s on PC. Yep, Shaun knows just the right time to throw that life ring when you need it :D

Regina - Congrats on P90X - love that program!! I'm planning to do P90X Classic as written and not incorporate Insanity just because I want to have as great a shock effect on my body as I had this go around with Insanity the next round. It will be tough because I am truly enjoying these workouts. My most dreaded move is probably the power push-up, but it's only because I haven't mastered it yet - I will soon though ;)

Marianimal - Most people I know (except for some on these forums) think I'm missing a few sane genes by doing Insanity in the morning - I'm definitely a morning person. By the time DH & DDs get up I'm enjoyin my endorphin rush & coffee and they just shake their heads :D I really enjoyed CCB during RW and I added the UB weight workout 3xs that week. I don't have CTX or 4DS so I'm sorry I have nothing to compare it to  It is a fast moving circuit workout where you do each set 3 times and you're supposed to move up in weight each of those sets - is that pyramid style ??

Eunice - ^5s on MIP. Do you think DH will want to join you with Insane when he returns? ;)

Good Afternoon,

Just catching up since I've been out of it for the weekend.

Brenda, I hate painting, but I'm sure the results on the house were worth the "Labor" I guess you were doing what you were supposed to while I goofed off. :p

Colleen, Wow, you did Fit test a 15 minute run and then MIC. You're a machine...

Regina, After I finish insanity I will probably just randomly throw in an Insanity workout here and there.

worseenemy, I'm doing Insanity and Insanity only. For me that's plenty to concentrate on with the Month 2 workouts. Don't feel bad if you didn't get to your one extra body part...

Sandra, I'm glad to hear your back is better, and thanks for the Hip flexibility suggestions. I just ordered the Yoga Link :Hip Openers and the Core Integration too.

Dawn, more info on hip openers please??? :D All my aches and pains are coming from tight hips and a weak pelvis. Its hard to motivate myself to do my stretches without any cues, direction, etc. Thanks!
Becky

Good afternoon Ya'll!! I just previewed Max Interval Plyo. I burst out laughing when Shaun got to those power push ups! Now I get what you're all talkin' about! This s*&t IS bananas!! I'm on target to do this workout in 30mins. Good grief. This is why previewing can be bad. But I was heartened by the fact that the last round of 4 crazy-a$$ moves are only done once! Doesn't Shaun know that humankind learned to walk upright, because it sucked to spend so much time on our arms?!

I hope so!:D he doesn't like to workout with DVD'S but maybe, you know i like how Shaun T help them to fix there position, and I was kind of mad for there costumer service at first:mad: But now I'm glad I keep them I'm really enjoying this. ;)

I know, I've figured that whit Insanity we use chest and back a lot, and legs, so I'm going to work on biceps and shoulders and triceps:D
I hope so, that's my zone trouble:mad:
I want to be ready for my coming reunion;):p

Hi Becky, Sandra might be able to tell you more details, but here is the link to the DVD I ordered on Sandra's suggestion.

http://www.pranamaya.com/styles/beginner/miller-hips.html

They do have some video previews. She did suggest a few other options, but that didn't require a DVD, but I need the cueing since I'm not overly familiar with YOGA and like you I need/like the cues and someone to coach me to keep the timing more even and so on.....

Sandra, LOL at the arms on the ground comment.

Eunice, You mean you're not counting days rather then weeks till the DH comes home?? :)

It's done for the first time! And what is there to say about Max Interval Plyo except :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:. About half way through I started to miss Pure Cardio! But I survived it, and did decently well. This is the strength workout of the series, isn't it? My glutes and legs are already full of doms, my chest and shoulders are very tired, and even my biceps are getting sore. When the heck did we hit the biceps so hard?! The Power Push Ups were hilarious, and I did better than I thought I would. But I still looked more like Tanya, and less like that Army guy. Maybe that's a good thing :p. I loved the 4 exercises at the very end. The side-push up hit my obliques like nothing else ever has, and the balance push up made the whole core toasty.

Like someone else here said a few weeks ago: just when you thought you'd seen every kind of push up there is, along comes Shaun.......

Overall, this workout was a blast. I have lots of room for improvement, but I've got a whole month to work on it, right?

It's way past my bedtime. More chat tomorrow, I hope.

Have a great workout!!!!!!!
Sandra

Becky, I have nothing to add to Dawn's post about the Pranamaya dvd, except that it is NOT yoga. It's a series of stretches and conditioning drills that will improve the strength & flexibility of the hips, so that you can become better at doing yoga (or anything else, really).

I also have the Core Integration dvd, but haven't removed the wrapper yet. I plan to do that within the next week, because I have a client who will be starting soon, and she needs serious core rehab.

Going back to work now! :D
