Good Morning Y’All!!

Another sleep in (6ish) morning for me ;) just loving this long weekend!! Today is technically a rest day, but I will be doing the Fit Test this morning since I don’t like to do it the same day as MIC (tomorrow). I’m not expecting WOWing #s, but we’ll see. Then I just need to frost a Hummingbird Cake (I was in a dangerous baking mood yesterday) then off to Miami :D

Colleen - Like Brenda said - NO WORRIES about M2. I’m absolutely loving these workouts and I think you will, too. If Dawn was around this weekend she would also agree :)

Elena - ^s on the additional 1.5 lbs - WooHoo!!! :D

Marianimal - I was just commenting to DH yesterday how impressed I am with my upper body improvement. It is an unexpected bonus since I figured this program was going to be lower body intensive. Enjoy that recovery week ;)

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!!

No INSANITY so far this weekend. I woke up aching from head to toe yesterday...even my fingers and toes! So frustrated!!! My initial reaction was to get up and do all planned workouts and push through the pain. BUT my running partner gave me an early morning check in call and talked me into resting this weekend. She is right. I did just finish PT on Monday and threw myself into everything maybe a bit fast. :( A little fuzzy headed and still achy today but not as bad as yesterday.

I'm loving reading all your posts and results! SOMEDaY I'll get my act together and be able to keep up!

Have a great day everyone!

Becky

Becky - Good idea to take it easy today - enjoy your rest

FT is done and here goes:

Switch Kicks: old 60, new 64
Power Jacks: old 60, new 60
Power Knees: old 83, new 88
Power Jumps: old 40, new 49
Globe Jumps: old 10, new 10
Suicide Jumps: old 20, new 20
Push up Jacks: old 27, new 32
Low plank oblique: old 88, new 109

As I mentioned, I didn’t expect higher #s, but I’m just thrilled at +9 in the power jumps since these are tough, tough, tough for me. For anyone concerned about M2, I think you will see most of your gains in this month particularly from all the plyo work - you'll start feeling like Tigger :p:eek: So hang in there!! OK, I’m off :)

Jennifer ~ way to go! :D I think those numbers are awesome! Good for you, for not being crazed over seeing an improvement in every number because I bet you were jumping higher and held form better on all of them! :D:D:D Keep up the excellent work!!!

Good morning, Insanitinas! Boy, it's good to see how much improvement there's been in people's performance via the Insanity workouts. I'm seeing improvements as well although I don't use Fit Test as my gauge (I probably should!). One area I'm seeing a lot of improvement in is my push-up performance as well as my triceps strength / endurance. Thanks, Shaun, for making me do those!

This a.m. I did Max Cardio Conditioning and a Core Cardio cardio chaser, as well as Insane Abs (omitting the jumping work at the beginning). Insane Abs continues to be a goal to work toward - I still have to take unscheduled rests during the seated work. I totally love Insane Abs - and I'm now an addict for Shaun's method of keeping hand placement in front of the buttocks rather than behind so that your torso is totally on its own!

Have a great workout day!

Is this a check-in for shaun t's insanity series? I don't have it yet and was wondering if you all think it is a good investment? Any comments welcome.

Hi Everyone!

Today is a rest day for me so I am going to do some yoga. Tomorrow I will do the fit test, MIC and 10 minute run. Then I will collapse on the couch! I forget who asked about the premixes, but I do them when I am short on time or I want some variety. I love the leg blast premix in B&G.

Roselyn, I think Insanity is a good investment. I am a cardio junkie and this is the first workout series that has challenged me since Imax 2.
Elena, ^5 on the weight loss.
Jennifer, wtg on the improvements.
Becky, take it easy and rest if you are not feeling well.

Do your order this on the beach body website?

Roselyn, you can order it through the BeachBody website, or you can sign on with a BeachBody "coach" and order through that person. I ordered through a coach; if your PM is enabled I'll PM you with her contact info. I love Insanity, and it's really priming my pump for Shock Cardio! I've always heard that a good cure for insanity was electroSHOCK - who'd'a thunk it?

Hi Ladies!!
Jennifer: Great Fit Test!!! isn't it fun that those power jumps are getting easier? I'm loving the plyo power and stamina month 2 workouts are giving me

Annette: I'm with you on Shaun's placement of hands for seated ab work. I incorporated a lot of the seated wotk in my Step/ sculpt class friday and the peeps were amazed at how much harder it is with hands placed forward of buttucks. That is a techinique I will use from now BTW I am keeping your suggestions for the after Insanity rotation in mind, it looks like a good in-between, keeping results going until STS starts up again rotation!

Becky: i don't think any of us could keep up with your running routine, busy life AND do the Insanity rotation as suggested by BB. Listen to your body, if I was coming off PT I would be doing what I could when the body was signalling it may be up to it and taking lots of breaks to get through the workouts. You are awesome.... and very intelligent to listen to your body.

Roselyn, I ordered Insanity through my beachnody coach, if you PM me I can send you her info. Oredering through a coach saves you on shipping and handling and i think it arrives quicker....

Today I did MIP and couldn't believe how much easier those pushups and floor sprints are becoming even though they are placed deep into the workout. I was ready to do the last circuit a second time ( I was thinking I might be able to keep up with A-Jock) but ended up being tight on time and had to be content with finishing major strong. Gotta love the cardio stamina gains this series has afforded me..... "this sh-- is bananas!!"

Hey everyone-
Jennifer --congrats on your fit test! That's great!
Brenda and Annette- I agree on the hand placement on your hands on those abs. It makes it so much harder. I find myself cheating and have to keep checking my hands from edging backwards!
Did Butts & Guts today. I keep forgetting how hard that one is!
Have a great Labor Day.

Good Sunday evening, Ya'll!!

I've been preoccupied with a few things the last few days, and haven't had much chance to check in. I've just read today's updates, and you're all getting me very excited to do Month 2! I start tomorrow!

A week ago Thursday I strained my lower back, so I decided to start my recovery week a few days early. With the extra spinning days added into my Month 1, I ended up finishing at the 4 week mark, but didn't complete the last 3 Insanity cardios. That's okay. The body was asking for the break. I took last week to rest up my back: did yoga a few days, CCB a couple of times, and taught my classes. On Friday I made it into a physio appointment. So far she thinks my issues are all about unbalanced muscle tightness. No disc issues or such to deal with. If I address these muscle imbalances, I should wind up avoiding impending disc problems. That's good news to me. She's doing intermuscular stimulation on me (she pokes needles in my tight spots really quickly, and pulls them out immediately). This is forcing the muscles to relax. Apparently I don't have to alter any of my current activities, unless I just don't appear to be responding to the treatment. So, I'm happy about all that.

I decided to move on to STS Meso 3 upper body workouts this month, along with Insanity, Month 2. This week my teaching load is light, next week it gets a bit heavier, and for the last 2 weeks it gets pretty hectic. While I have everything planned on my calendar, I'm prepared to make changes when necessary, if I'm feeling too burnt out.

So! I'm in for my first M2 workout tomorrow!! I'm excited! Oh, and I'm not going to do another Fit Test until the very end. It's an extra 25mins tacked on that I don't really need or have time for, and I'll be content to wait until the very end to see the change.

I did STS Meso 3, Week 1 Chest/Back today. 68mins of heavy push/pull lifting. Love it. Just love it. I'm impressed with my chest strength; I think all the Insanity planks/push ups have been having an effect.

Jennifer - sorry if I missed it earlier; are you going away? That's really gratifying to see the improved Fit Test numbers!! How close are you to the finish? 2 more weeks?

Have a good night everyone! See you tomorrow!
Sandra
