Okay, I definitely need more strength training "stuff". So, I'd definitely like to get PUB/PLB. Now, should I go for the GS dvds from the Hardcore series, or should I get PH/MIS/BM (I already have BM on vhs, but it's deteriorating quickly)? Or is there something else I should go for?

I wish I was independently wealthy and I'd just order them all!

Hi Limecat,

It really depends on what you are looking for when choosing between the GS and PH/MIS/BM. They are so different! I would say get GS if you are interested in really going hardcore (no pun intended), and you can really get heavy on these workouts. PH/MIS/BM are classcs however, and I definately love them, but they are more high rep workouts and I find they don't work each specific muscle group quite as hard since they are focused more on total body training in each workout. Either way, they are quality workouts, and you should be challenged. Have fun, whatever you decide!

It depends on what you want to do and accomplish. The Gym Styles are great for adding strength and bulk, if that's what you're after.

Power Hour is an endurance workout, and IMHO, it's still the best endurance workout that Cathe ever produced. (MM is a close second.) This is wonderful for getting those cuts that everyone wants.

Many classify the Pyramids as an endurance workout, and it is closer to that than strength. But when I was starting out, the Pyramids were so great in improving both for me. Eventually I had to cut the PUB in half (chest/back and sh/tri/bi) so I could go heavier and rest longer. I kept using PLB as is. You won't go wrong with the Pyramids.

MIS was also another workout I used a lot when I was starting out. It's a great whole body workout.

I don't use BM that much except for the lower body segment, which I pair with CTX-Power Circuits.

Hope I'm not confusing you, Shelley. I saw your pictures. Great abs.:)

Shelly,
If you can afford two series or one now and one two months from now I would suggest getting one endurance type workout series and one strength type series.

For endurance you could go with PH, ME, MMax. Some people classify the Pyramids as endurance because of the high number of reps. However, when I first used the pyramids , I got visable strength gains.

For strength some choices are PS, S&H, GS series

All of these have been my favorite at one time or another. And I don't do much heavy lower body weight work any more. For me endurance works my lower body best. However, there are times when I need to shock my body and will do one week of heavy leg work.

And when you are ready to purchase again, I suggest getting a circuit workout to mix things up. CM, Boot Camp, HSC, HST, Cardo & Weights.

Isn't is fun spending someone elses money??????

Yes Shelley, you should get them all. Eventually.:)

But Judy gives good advice. Get one endurance and one strength; workouts you can stick with for the next 2-3 months.

Happy lifting!:7

Shelley, if you want more strength training "stuff", you might want to consider the GS's. They are all excellent for gaining strength. I'm not certain of the breakdown price for each DVD, but the Pyramids are also good too ~ esp. if you go heavy enough (and it's only one DVD to purchase). Eventually here and there you can add on to your collection.
