Improving cardio endurance...

Hi Cathe!

I'm looking to do my first full marathon this fall, after several half-marathons... I'm hoping to increase my stamina so I can keep up my energy for double the time I'm used to doing, but also I'd love to shave a few seconds off my per-mile pace so I could get a decent time :).

With these as my goals, do you think it would be better for me to do longer cardio workouts (i.e. 45-60 min), or do shorter, but more intense? Or longer and intense? Or all of the above LOL?

I'm a little overwhelmed with all of the choices I have and would love to get some guidance :).

And if I could also sneak in another question :)...

I have really loved doing the heavy weight training in 4DS and have gotten great results, but would like to change it up for a while with Gym Style, another favorite series of mine. I'm more time crunched right now and was wondering whether I'd get just as good results if I do the premixes of the Gym Style series, rather than the full workouts? I always feel guilty doing those timesaver premixes--as though I'm "cheating" somehow LOL. Will doing the timesaver versions cut back on the results at all?
