IMAX 3

Hello Everyone

I've had IMAX 3 now for a few weeks and I've tried it a couple of times, but to be honest it terrifies me :)

I have particular problems doing the fast feet repeater step that is side on, on the step. I'm not sure what the move is called but I just can't seem to get the hang of it. IMAX 3 seems so difficult, but I'd really like to get to grips with it. Has anyone any suggestions?

Thanks alot

Hi Laura!

I love Imax 3! Here are some ideas that have worked for me. I hope they work for you too!

1. Lower your step so that it does not have any risers.

2. Add on one blast after another cardio workout. This helps me so
that I don't get too frustrated and feel like I did not get
a good workout. It really breaks it down and you don't feel
so overwhelmed. Or just do the first 5 blasts and add on as you
feel comfortable.

3. Practice and lots of patience. You are in a learning curve and
that is a good thing. Soon you will look back and be very
proud that you stuck with and accompished this workout. I love
Cathe's challenges.

4. Sometimes I just have to flat out change a move. It just does
not work for me. I had to do that With Body Max 2. I could
not for the life of me do a turn so I just modified it and
moved on.

I hope these suggestions help!:)

It's my fave workout!!! Took me a few times to get it. I still sometimes end up going the wrong way on that particular blast. I lose it on the turn. But even if I am going the wrong way, it really doesn't matter. Just keep doing the fast feet part and you'll still get the interval effect. Or I sometimes I just lave out the hop thing she does to get facing that direction and just put my self in the right direction. I figure 2 seconds out of a killer workout won't break the bank!!! Hang in there, it's a doozy of a workout but it's fun and you'll get it. Also, try breaking it down like the prev poster mentioned, it helps!!

It scares the beejeeseez outa me too!! I've tried it and had to do alot of modifying. I'm afraid this workout could leave me on the floor literally! :+

Hi, everyone- It took me a long time to warm up to IMAX 3, but now I love it. If I'm having a day I don't feel up to the "fast feet" repeater I just slow it down and modify - like just do pendulum hops on top of the step instead of jumping all the way to the floor.

Also, remember you can do just the step portions as a premix, or just 1-5 or 5-10 and then sub in another form of cardio or another tape for the rest of your workout if IMAX 3 is too daunting to tackle all at once.

I love the creativity in the step portions. Love those reverse mambos. Several of those step portions are some of my favorite that Cathe has ever done. It's worth it!

Also, I like the second and third workouts in Hardcore Extreme that alternate some of the IMAX3 cycles with Low Max. Also very fun.

Good luck

Hi all

Just an update. I tried Imax3 again this morning and I think its the hardest workout I've ever tried. I must admit the first blast nearly killed me. The side jumping on and off the step was very difficult and at one point I caught my foot and flew across my lounge, landing on my chair lol :D

My poor dog who just sleeps whilst I'm working out ran into another room. But I will try and modify. The other blasts didn't seem as bad, but they really get your heart rate up. I loved the step combos, although I did keep repeating the intervals so I could practice the steps. I am determined to learn this dvd as I think it will really improve my cardio endurance. However I may need to modify.

Overall despite the slight trip I loved it.

Cheers
Laura
