I just tried the Imax 3 with the 8 inch step. It wasn't too bad. I definitely had moments where I was breathing heavily, but it was do-able.
The blasts that I had a little trouble with were:
1) the first one where you have to do the hop up with both feet exit side. I just modified it to a hop up with one leg because I didn't feel like crashing into the TV this morning.
2) The combo where you are doing 14 side lunges was also a little bit harder, but I enjoyed the added intensity there (vertically challenged people might not enjoy the added challenge though).
3)Oh and one combo it actually helped me on was that one where you are doing the plunge lunges and then you have the set where you go lower (the lower part was easier for me).
The step combinations that are in between the blasts were also quite do-able with the added height and actually still give you a little bit of a break between the blasts, but I think that is where you might really notice the extra height.
Just wanted to also tell you that, I normally just do the platform for Imax 3, but when I put the DVD in today, I thought I had Low-Max but when I saw it was Imax 3--I figured what the heck if it turns out to be too tough I'll just move my step back down. I know this sounds crazy, but sometimes I actually find Imax 3 to be easier than Low-Max because there are less of those repeater 7's and my mind is occupied the whole time. Don't get me wrong I still love Low Max!
And while I am emailing this super long saga--has anyone seen the new oatmeal commercial where people walk around with a scale chained to their leg? Cracks me up!
Cheers and Happy Friday!
