Imax 2 (about 55 minutes in length) is a super intense cardiovascular workout that focuses on increasing your aerobic capacity by pushing you to your anaerobic threshold. The benefits of this training are abundant. You will be able to go longer in your current workouts, encourage your body to break through any existing plateus, burn off high volumes of calories, and stimulate your overall metabolism.
The format of this workout is a warm up, followed by 10 intervals, a cool down and stretch. Each interval consists of a steady state step aerobic period, an anaerobic intensity blast, and a recovery period.
This workout differs from Imax 1 in that it utilizes the step more throughout the entire routine. Also, each interval varies just a bit in length and intensity. Sometimes the blasts are longer, sometimes they are a little shorter. Finally, the intervals are paced so that they gradually build in intensity from 1 through 4, but after that the workout kicks into a much higher level. But I sure do hope that I haven't led you to believe that interval 1 through 4 are easy, they are simply paced in a way that prepare you for the rest of the workout.
