Imax 2 and 3

or any other intense cathe cardio. how many of you never do the whole thing and just do half? like just doing intervals 1-5 or 6-10. i'm finding that i get the most intensity in those first 5 intervals (30 min) and if i try to do the next 5 i'm starting to crap out and my intensity diminishes and my form starts changing. actually i'm noticing this with a lot of cardio workouts that are intense. anyone else feel like this? for me i think intense 30 min of cardio works best

I do splits with them. I'll do half of Imax 2 and then do a premix of legs and glutes or upper body from BM1 or 2, then I get the best of both worlds.

I do this all the time. I've found(just as you said) that pretty much any cardio that lasts longer than 30 minutes doesn't really work for me. I'd rather do 30 minutes giving it my all and really focusing than 45-60 minutes where I'm stopping and starting or just trying to 'get it over with.'

I have yet to do all of an Imax, though I manage all of Low Max (guess the lower impact helps). I always do just 5 intervals. I just got the Imaxes this summer, though, and I have had trouble doing any cardio in the heat (no a/c and a hot summer in NY), so we'll see if I can do more in the fall. It also might be that I just don't enjoy the Imax workouts as much--I finish Rhythmic Step and Step Blast just because I'm having so much fun the time flies by.

You gotta do what works for you. :) I have done this before (splitting up an IMAX workout - and then doing something else afterward). I think you can give the cardio blasts even MORE gusto if you know you're only doing 5 of them! }(

kariev - For the most part, I have to split them. If I'm feeling particularly adventurous, I may try I2 all the way through, but I usually have to modify and take rests. By only doing half, I can do everything full out.

I think it sounds like a great way to work up to the complete workout - just add a combo on here and there, over time.
