I'm considering adding an IMAX to my collection

I have lomax and still working on that. Which Imax would be the "easiest" or "best to start with" in your opinion?

Thanks,
Paula

Hmmmm...none of the IMAX workouts are easy (although they get easier with time), but in terms of choreography I'd say go with IMAX 1. IMAX 2 is more fun but I think slightly more difficult to learn than IMAX 1, but I think it's okay to start with this one too. I would say save IMAX 3 for last.

Then consider when you get IMAX1 you also get Rhythmic Step and Maximum Intensity Cardio. When you get IMAX2, you also get Cardio and Weights

Decisions, decisions...

Let us know what you decide.

IMHO Imax I seems to be the easiest choreography, that might be a great way to start. The DVD has Rhythmic Step (great workout) and MIC (very tough). Imax 2 is more fun!

Well that's two votes for the Imax 1. I would have considered 2 first because of the ratings on the index of dvds, but I prefer direct input from users. Plus I think I would get more use from Rhythm step and MIC that the circuit that comes with the Imax 2.
Thanks, Ladies.

The only IMAX I have is the first one, but I think the choreography on it is easier than Low Max (I'm a bit of a klutz).

Lori

Choreographywise, Interval Max (IMAX1) is easiest, but it's not less intense than the others. Imax 2 would be next easiest choreographywise. They are both excellent workouts.

I would say that if you're looking for the easiest choreography, go with IMAX. If you're looking for fun factor, go with IMAX 2. IMAX 2 is my all time favorite Cathe workout!

Katie

I would go with IMax 2. I don't think that IMax is THAT much easier than IMax 2, and the fun factor is major on IMax 2. There's a reason so many people name it their favorite.

IMAX 2 - the second most fun you can ever have breathing harder than you knew possible and making your body do things you didn't know you could accomplish (you can figure out the first way on your own - or with your DH or SO ;) :) )

Cardio & Weights is one my favorite Cathe workouts (with the premixes you can only do the step only portion of C&W, or do the compound and heavy weights segment only, or the heavy weights segment only, etc. and it even has a great ab segment something that you won't get with the IMax DVD which is cardio only). As for the workouts included with the IMax DVD, I never do Rhythmic Step. I've done it less than 10 times for sure. It's fun, but the choreo is not that easy to learn. MIC is tough and VERY high impact as opposed to the IMax workouts which are also high impact, but they are shorter (usually about 60 mins long including warm-up and stretch) and they have recovery segments. MIC is tough from start to finish. I think IMax is easier to learn than IMax 2, but IMax has tougher intervals (intervals 1-5 of IMax 2 are very easy in my opinion) and forget about IMax 3 at the moment; you shouldn't start out with that one.

You should make your decision based on what you want. If you want "easier" intervals then go for IMax 2 (I think you'll love Cardio and Weights too), and if you are challenged with choreography then get IMax and don't do the entire workout the first few times. Maybe try intervals 1-5 one day and intervals 6-10 some other day. Honestly, I'll think you'll get both eventually so think about that too, what do you want now? :)

I agree with Jo - get them BOTH! Besides, Mother's Day is coming up and if you don't have children, surely you must have a pet, even if it is a stray cat that lives at the neighbor's:):).

If you ABSOLUTELY must choose, I say go for Imax 2 because it is my favorite cardio workout and if you love Low Max you'll love this one - it's just so much fun!!!!

Let us know what you decide,

You know I was convinced one was the way to go....but I watched the clips and "2" does look more fun! And to me fun keeps me going when the workout gets hard. My main problem is I don't care for circuit workouts and I think that comes with IMAX 2. I don't think I can buy IMAX 2 alone. Am I correct?

Paula

Yes, you are correct. Cardio & Weights comes with IMAX 2. I like the Cardio and Weights workout. The step routine does not have difficult choreography and it has upper body weight work and a killer ab routine at the end but if this isn't for you I would go with the Rhythmic Step, MIC and IMAX DVD. It's great. Rhythmic Step is so much fun. This was what hooked me on Cathe. MIC IMO is the hardest of Cathe's workouts. IMAX is the easiest in choreography but just as hard in intensity.

Marcy

Paula, I've been thinking and it's probably the best if you get the original IMax DVD (with Rhythmic Step and MIC). The workouts are really hard (in my opinion harder than IMax 2 and C&W) but you can do your favorite segments until you master them. For example, like I mentioned already, intervals 1-5 of IMax only, or intervals 6-10 of IMax, the floor portion of MIC only, or the step portion of MIC only, etc. Just don't do them on an 8" step like Cathe does in the workouts, use a 6" step until you become an expert. The reason I changed my mind is because I think you should get the complete Intensity Series with the Terminator DVD when you can. It's better to get that series as a whole. You save more money getting the complete series than buying the individual DVDs and trust me as soon as you start doing those workouts you're going to want the whole series. So in my opinion you should get IMax now and get the whole Intensity Series with Terminator (it has the IMax 2 DVD and a lot of other great workouts) in the future. :)

Thanks so much for your input Rose11.

Here is my problem with that. I did think about that tempting (expensive)solution. But...I already have the pyramid workout so I hate spending money on a set when I already have one of the dvd's.
Oh well,....I will just have to make a decision.
Thanks everyone.
Paula
