I'm Certifiable!!!!

I just wanted to share with my fellow "Catheites" that I recently passed my exam and have been certified as a personal trainer through ACE.
Now that I've been through this certification, I'm thinking of going for the Group Instructor certification as well. Couldn't hurt huh?
Anyway, thought I'd share the news. And I followed everyone's advice about what to wear to my job interview at the gym. I'm thinking the interview went well but I still haven't heard back from them. I got a really good feeling from the interviewer but as I was leaving, I noticed that a female trainer who worked there threw me a terribly mean look as I was walking out. Oh well. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be.;-)

Hi Marcia-
I actually did a lot before I took the exam. Probably too much but I wanted to make sure I passed. Afterall, the test was $200.
Anyway, I ordered the manual from ACE(www.acefitness.org)and ended up taking a 3 credit class online through a local college. I then took a review course from Exercise Etc that ended up being a 2 day course. Looking back, I don't think I needed the online class(although it did force me to read the book). I really liked the review class from Exercise Etc. I would recommend taking a general fitness course of some type though. But if you cannot do that, I'm sure you could study on your own and possibly take a review class as well. I ended up studying a lot of stuff and the test unfortunatly did not cover a lot of what I learned. I met many people who took and passed the test just studying on their own so it definatly can be done.
BTW, ACE is not the only(or the best)certification out there. It is the most standard and more people have it compared to other organizations. ACSM and NSCA are considered to be "the best" out there. Now that I've passed the ACE exam I may consider one of these organizations later on. If you have anymore questions, pm if you like:)

Go for group fitness, I absolutely loved it and can't wait to start again! Nothing gives you a feeling a greater power than telling 30 people what to do, and them watching them do it! }(

Maybe you threaten her and her job.
( This is not true about all women)
I was a boss in a salon a few years back with 16 stylists.
They were the biggest bunch of cut throats.
One hated this one . Constant complaining. Always she makes more money than me. She got all daylight . I have to work the weekend.
90% of the time none of them had anything nice to say to anyone. Only when they weren't there and cutting on them.
Once a new girl did a grat set of foils. Instead of being happy on an accomplishment. I heard it's about time.
She is judging you before she knows you . So maybe she is just a jerk,having a bad day ,or she doesn't like your looks.
Look at it this way. YOU ARE BETTER THAN THAT!

Good heaven's, I thought you were posting from the loony bin. (I've been scouring the others here, trying to pick you out. ;) Congratulations! I am proud of you! Perhaps that look is just the one Mother Nature gave her? She may have just been lost in unpleasant thoughts or having a stressful thing going on. Don't let that steal your wonderful sense of accomplishment. Way to go!
