LOL! Seriously! Not clothes, make up, shoes, etc. I am addicted to GROCERY SHOPPING! I get a little bit of extra cash and what do I think about? "HMMMMMMMMMMM....wonder what's on sale at the grocery store!" I canNOT go into a store and stick to ONLY my list. Although buying fitness stuff comes in an awefully close second, groceries tops my list of favorite things to buy!!!

I've got plenty of stuff when I hit the store. I could probably not buy a single item (besides milk) for the next 2+ months and STILL have enough food in my house to feed myself and my kids! I've got 2 top/bottom refrigerator/freezers, a large chest freezer, a pantry in the kitchen plus the cabinets, AND a pantry in the basement!!!!

I can't figure it out! lol

PLEASE tell me I'm not COMPLETELY NUTS!!!!

Well, now I know where I'm going when I'm out of food!! Gayle's house!!

I hate to grocery shop and get this...I pay my parents to go grocery shopping for me!! It's the best thing I've done for both of us. They are retired so it gets them out of the house and gives them a little extra cash and I don't have to go to the store on Saturday. My dad LOVES it. I have a whole spreadsheet that is in order of how the store is set up and I just put a quantity next to the items I need. I actually have saved money on this because before I would go without a list and end up buying too much.

I'm famous for running off to buy various veggies and then watching them rot in the crisper. <sigh>

SAME HERE! I swear, the money I throw away in rotten food could get this country out of debt.

I do like to grocery shop though, but I always go without a list. Why, you ask? Because I'm a moron. Perusing the isles in the grocery store is one of my favorite past times. I have no life. I've found so many useless items at the grocery store, not to mention lots of food I buy and then never eat.

Ditto that. *sigh*

I find I buy way too much at the grocery store if I bring my kids along. I can say "no" to junk there, but if they want to get something healthy, I'm like "sure!" Then because they're suggesting healthy stuff, I'll reward them by getting junk. Plus, my DD likes to cook/bake and try new recipes, which I love, but it all adds up to a full shopping cart!

I love to grocery shop. It used to be the only store I could shop in when money was tight so it became my day out! Am I pathetic or what? Now I'm there more than any other store and spend WAY too much, not that Wegmans is complaining;-)

I love to grocery shop and have to be careful to schedule something I have to do afterwards otherwise I'll be there for hours, roaming up and down the aisles, singing along with the piped in music. I can get really sidetracked by trying to find the best bargain or the biggest nutritional bang.

Ditto me on the neglected veggies x( .

I literally run up and down the aisles, clutching my grocery list!:) I detest grocery shopping, it never ever fails, I get home and have forgotten something. And I hate returning for just one itemx(

The fresh veggie thing is so true. For some strange reason, I always think I need to purchase zucchini or that yellow summer squash, which I promptly forget about until my fridge stinks.:7

Oh, and I have every condiment know to mankind. I forget what we have at the house and buy "doubles" or even triples of the same thing. Right now I must have 4 half-empty catsup bottles taking up room in my fridge.

Hope this is ok to mention-

I used to hate grocery shopping til I signed up with thegrocerygame.com . Every week they list all the items on sale and especially on sale with coupons. You do have to start saving coupons which can be another project in itself, but for the last 2 years I have been doing this I am average saving 45% a month on food/household groceries.

I have also now started to cook more around what I buy and have been wasting less food. (chickens don't appreciate this) Even started getting up at 4am to fix my dh breakfast and lunches.

You can try it out for, I believe $1 for 4 weeks; then it is $10 for 6 weeks. I save much more than this in just one week. And those of you lucky gals living in double coupon land would have it even better.

I'd be interested in this if they did Super Walmart. Otherwise, I'd still be comparing prices to the walmart store brands.

I'm with you on this one Gayle, I take the 'market shopping' approach to groceries. I'm in there 3 or 4 times a week for a little of this and a little of that. I'm too cheap and practical to let food go to waste. I made an emergency apple crisp yesterday with some 'past peak' macintosh apples that I'd forgotten in the crisper. Don't tell my kids I that I snuck 1/2 cup of ground flax in the 'crisp' part }( :9

OH, thanks for letting me know I'm not alone! LOL

BUT NOW....to make matters WORSE, my grocery store now has a Big Red Box! Any of you have those around??? It's a big red box that's a vending machine for movie DVDs! $1 per day plus tax! GEESH!!! What's a groceryaholic supposed to do NOW? lol
