If anyone's tried Meso 2 Legs...

I'd love to hear about it!! I've a feeling those tri-sets are much, much tougher than they look!

Thanks! :)

Hi Jillybean!

I did the first week of meso 2 legs today. I'm afraid I didn't care for it as much as meso 1, however, because I felt it more in my arms than my legs! I went as heavy as I could on weights but I was feeling it more in my forearms. Of course, my arms are still fatigued from upper body work so that probably didn't help.

I didn't get nearly as breathless as Cathe does. She is talking while doing, and she might have been using slightly heavier dumbbells, but I think she probably wasn't going much heavier and I think I matched her on the barbell deadlifts so I don't know why I didn't get out of breath. I actually felt the moves that use lighter weights more (paper plate moves, one legged squat with leg elevated). But I often feel endurance moves more than the heavy moves anyway.

It went by very quickly. My nemesis turned out to be the calf raises that came last. I couldn't balance on the high step! My chair back wasn't high enough for me to hold on to so I used a dowel, but Cathe and crew weren't really doing much more than putting their fingertips on the chair so I don't know why I kept wanting to fall off. If anyone has tips for how to do that move more easily, please let me know.

So, when are you scheduled to do it?

I would say (and I am being serious) that your legs were probably just too darned tired to balance by the time you got to that point. I have that problem with calf raises after doing other leg exercises.

I did meso two, week two legs on Thursday. I used heavier dumbbells/ barbells for almost all of the exercises than Cathe and crew and there were times that I was sweating bullets. The tri-sets are a good challenge. I am usually saying to myself, that the rest minute can't be up yet!!! i always have DOMS after each leg workout. My husband and I do STS together and after the second tri-set he said in a loud voice- "Cathe, what the h__ l_!!!" I'm loving it and getting good results.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT WAS THE LONGEST 48M OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!! i am shakin so hard i can hardly type. what an incredible workout!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just finished Disk 14 and I just have to say to ddj, if you were not out of breath or sweating, than boy am I impressed! I know I lift less weight than Cathe and I was sweating and breathing the whole time! My legs feel like spaghetti! What a great and challenging workout! If this one doesn't give results, nothin' will.

legs are aching!

Meso 2 legs is HARD!! I love it! It's different from Meso 1 legs, of course, but I like that, and I like that there are still paper plate exercises in it, even though those are my nemesis.

I did legs yesterday and MAN, are my legs aching today. I feel like I am limping around the office!! To top it off, I've started running for the first time this week, so not only do my legs ache, I also have shin splints! Ouch...no pain, no gain, though, right?!

Agree, this is the hardest legs workout yet and I loved every minute even though I was dying by the end! My legs are killing me today - particularly inner thighs and hamstrings. Going to the bathroom is not fun, let's put it that way ;) It's like a mini-squat!! In love with meso 2 so far!

I just did Meso 2 Disk 14 today and LOVED it!!! Oh yes, it was hard. But that's ok! The tri-sets are terrific. What a super way to fatigue the legs without getting completely burned out. And my HR was up there! I used heavy weights and really pushed myself and don't mind a little cardio affect!

Today I think I went heavier on my legs than I ever have and they were literally quivvering when I was getting ready for work. I must also comment that today I used those 1 minute rests more than I have in any of the other workouts. It really helped to lower my HR and stretch out my legs. Zowie!!

GOOD STUFF! Meso 2 is fantastic!

Wow, thanks so much for the replies!!

I am on a 6-month STS rotation, so I still have a few weeks left of Meso 1, but Meso 2 is fascinating to me. It looks so simple and easy on paper, but after reading all the posts about it, I now know that meso 2 is anything but easy!!!

It'll be interesting to hear what the back and biceps workout is like. I noticed in previewing that Cathe does all 3 sets of chins/pull ups back-to-back. Yowza!!!!

I didn't think I would like Meso 2 because I really prefer alternating body parts, but I really did enjoy the upper body workouts. The three sets of chin up/pull ups were challenging, but I use one of those assist bands so I just had to push a little harder with my foot to get through all of them. ;)

The reason I didn't feel the leg workout as much was because my poor forearms couldn't handle a heavy enough weight. But then I always feel the lighter workouts (like the ones in Meso 1) far more than I do the heavier workouts. Everyone's different, I guess.
