Iced over

Good Morning Everyone
We are in and iced over world here in the northeast this day. Everything looks like a glazed donut with icicles hanging off! Schools are closed, my tennis game is postponed.
Thankfully we have only one tree down, and our power is ON.

My exercise plan today was a 5 mile walk outside(cardio choice); it looks like I'll hit the treadmill instead!
Judy

May God always grant you a sunbeam to warm you... a moonbeam to charm you...& a sheltering angel, so nothing can harm you :)

Man, the Northeast has gotten absolutely hammered this season! Minnesota seems to have gotten off relatively light this season, the Twin Cities in particular; all snowstorms seem to have bypassed our cities!

Glad you have a treadmill option for your walk; it's always good to have a Plan B, yes?

It looks incredible! I looked out at our evergreen and it's covered in ice, just beautiful! The kids were hoping for school to be closed, but no luck.:-(

You must be in the FAR northeast. We consider ourselves to be in the northeast--just outside of Philly & we're pretty warm actually. It's about 48 degrees this morning. Chilly but not awful & NO ICE! WOOHOO!

I'm in michigan and it's iceland. I had a tree and many large branches come down, no power and schools are closed. Well that's Michigan for ya. It's pretty how everything is iced over, though..

Wow! We've already hit 80 degrees here in Arkansas this week. I wondered why folks kept talking about getting in shape for tank top season - it's already arrived down here!

Stay warm and we'll try to blow some warm southernly winds your way.

Angela

Please blow some of those warm Arkansas winds up to Toronto. We are cold and icy here as well. Schools surrounding Toronto are closed but in the city they have remained open with no busses. They're calling for more freezing rain tonight before it's over .... burrr

Hi Fellow Muckaluckers!

It's been "raining" ice pellets here in Toronto since yesterday at around 4:30 pm. I have NEVER seen anything like this and for such a prolonged amount of time. When you walk outside, you're either walking in the usual melted snow slush or this really crunchy, "snow-cone" type stuff (snow made up of ice pellets). Really weird.

I'm the only one from the support staff that made it into the office today. One co-worker's trains were cancelled, the second didn't make it out of their driveway and the third has been stuck in self-quarantine (SARS - Sudden Acute Respiratory Syndrome, I think) for the last week.

I am from Michigan. We have had freezing rain all last night into this morning - then it stopped but started up again at about 5:30 - snow then rain, then snow then hail and we even had lightning and thunder. There ar many people with their power out. We also have alot of trees down.

The trees are so bogged down it is unreal. The weather forecast, a few inches of snow by morning. And only in the 30's for the nexat 5 days.

Yuckie, yuckie, yuckie,

Cheryl, so much for spring!

Hello. I'm from Michigan too, but I live in Monroe, and thankfully we did not get any of the ice....just lots and lots of rain. I work downtown (for DTE never the less!!) and alot of people in our offices were called out for storm duty. Hope anybody without power gets turned back on quickly!!

We are in a state of emergency here in Rochester ,NY. Most people do NOT have power, but we do. Our kids have their friends here trying to stay warm. One friend even brought her fish tank over to stay warm!
At least we are alll safe.
We just need to make sure the cable stays intact so we can watch the Syracuse game!!!!!

Update here :
we are still in a state of emergecy. No school for the kids.. again tomorrow. We need to move downed trees, and we are expecting 4-8 inches of snow tomorrow. I just had to share!

Wow, I'm sorry for you guys. I live in Chapel Hill NC and we have had 65-75 for a couple of weeks now, although we had the worst ice storms ever earlier this winter.

My daughter is going to Boston University next year. I just sent off the deposit and the paperwork yesterday! So, I'll soon be feeling for her up there and she'll soon be feeling for her too!

I went to college in Ann Arbor, so I've been there, done that.
