I think I qualify as a runner now!! The bug has bit me hard I started running maybe 2 Springs ago, not because I enjoyed it, but because it was hard, and it was something I felt like I should enjoy, and needed to do. And never added really any distance or felt like I wanted to add on as I was going. It was ok, but not on my top 10 list of exercise activities. I stopped maybe in Nov, after a bout w/ PF and then the weather got cooler and rainy, and gave me my excuse not to do it I picked it back up maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago, after SIL talked me into a 19k in April. And I am enjoying every minute of every run. Ok, well maybe not the first few mins, but after that s'all good. I seem to have found my beat, my rhythm my pace and life is good. I knew today was going to be cold, and yesterday I had a jones for a run, but it was leg day, so I did that. Figured I'd do RS today so I could stay in where its warm, but NO, I just had to go for a run, couldn't shake it. So, out of my warm bed an flannel jammies into the 9 degree weather I go. And hell, besides some cold toes, I enjoyed it!!! Only did 3.3 miles, because it was so cold, but I loved it. I wanted to go farther, but common sense brought me back in. Hell, if I had any common sense, I wouldn't have been out there in the 1st place Last weekend I was out as well, had my run mapped out in my head, and ended up tacking on an extra mile or so. It felt good, and I wanted to keep going.
I have been bit by the bug, and I am lovin' it. I may not go as far or as fast as the rest of you runners, but I am calling myself one of you now!!!! Look out world, here comes Nan!!! (even if I am bringing up the back of the pack)
I'm still trying to figure out where running fits in my week w/ the other cardio I enjoy. Will have to work on that.
