I teach my first Step class Fri Dec 5!

Yesterday, Sunday, I had my fourth training session at the YMCA with my instructor, Kristine. She told me I was ready, not just to teach the warm-up, but a whole class! I showed her my material which I worked on smoothing the night before. She had given me lots of great suggestions which I incorporated.

I am so elated! I have worked hard, but the amount of time it has taken away from my family, etc. has not been too awfully much. I'm glad about that.

I'm using moves from Cathe's videos, like power squats (from the Intensity series) 2 sets of 3, one on each side of the step, with knees off the side and back totalling 16 beats each pair, also some scissors like from is it Power Max? Fun fun moves! The participants will love them I hope!

Anyway, the Friday class is someone else's regular class. I will be borrowing the class for the hour! Some day soon, I might get my own time slot but it will probably be a different one. So, if I mess up real bad, I won't have to face them again (J/K!)

Thanks for sharing my glee!!

Hey, Connie! I saw your post as well on the Turnstep bulletin boards; I'm glad you posted here so I could respond and have the response posted immediately!

You're gonna do GREAT! I'm sure you've gotten a lot of wonderful training through the YMCA; however, I know you've gotten a lot of equally wonderful training by performing Cathe's workouts to learn what's effective as well as fun and safe.

Try to sub (or, as I like to phrase it, guest-instruct) as many classes as you can to get the instructor mentality deep into your brain, and I have no doubt you'll become a club favorite in no time!

Let us know how it goes!

GOOD LUCK! Go get em'.

I'm sure you will do great - it's such a huge power trip. The endorphins pick you up immediately. You'll be amazed at how much you can do when you are teaching the class. I can do more reps and longer cardio when I teach - the music and the energy just sail me right through.

Have fun! Marcia.

Connie you'll be fantastic...no worries. You've come a long way (seen your pics, you look great)... i've lots of faith in you. x

Good luck! That is great! I know you have been working very hard at this and now your "dream" is coming true! I will be anxious to hear how it goes and I am sure you will do great! Sounds like your material will be a lot of fun and intense!

I'm so happy for you! I remember the first class I ever taught beginning to end -- I was so nervous my boyfriend had to boot me out of the car before class.
Let us know how it goes... pretty soon, you'll be the club favorite!:)

Oh they will love it! And you won't mess up real bad! But on the off chance you do, dazzle them with your white teeth!
