I snapped my band in half!

I did GS Legs this morning, and while lying on my back doing that outer thigh move with the band around your feet and criss-crossed in front the darn thing just snapped. Well, of course I had to finish with just half a band which actually was better. On that move I really have to choke up on the band anyways to feel it.

Just wanted to share one of those bizarre things that I've wondered if it would happen before and I'm sure some of you have wondered about it too!

The bands do wear out and will eventually break. You can increase their life by trying to shift where the pulling occurs, when you can. So far, I've only broken one. I bought a new box of band so I just cut off how much I need and use it until it breaks through.

You must not realize your own strength!!! You animal You!!! GGGGRRRRR - Gritting teeth.

I did feel really strong at that particular moment, but deep down I know it's just because I've worn that sucker out (I LOVE band work). I've already ordered a new one.

Someone told me to keep it in a plastic bag with powder. That seems to have extended my band's life.

I've gone through about 10 of the suckers. Just too strong for them eventually. I have one now that is super thick and sometimes I can barely move it.

Well, I've had that band since the Hardcore Series came out (it came with it). I did keep it in a bag with baby powder, but even still it's pretty old.

Do you guys know that part in Drill Max when you're setting up for the Firewalkers (which I love!) and Cathe says something like "Leave enough of the band..." and I always think in my head--so you can hang yourself with it! Just a weird band thought...

Like others have said, get a thicker band. The green one is fairly light resistance so it stretches the most, making it more susceptible to breakage. I have a "red" one from Sports Authority that I use mostly.
