Congratulations. :D:D:D
I'm sure the last 6.2 will be a breeze. You must be so proud

I hope to do a marathon one day. I'll look to all of you for some training tips

Jennifer!

Wow girl!

You can do it!

I am looking forward to your marathon report and will keep you in my praye s with Cathy and Linda and Posh who are running marathons and Wendy and Shelly who are doing 18 milers in October!!!

You are all amazing women!!!!

PS my DD's BF is doing TNT too and running the Marine Corps Marathon in a few weeks.

Cathy: I'm doing the Nike Women's Marathon (it's in San Francisco, so LOTS of hills--oh joy ;)). My friend is doing Chicago too! She'll be doing the San Jose Rock n' Roll Half-Marathon this weekend with me, then Chicago the following week, then the Half-Marathon at Nike the following week. She's hard core ;).

You guys, thank you so much for all of your support!! It's so great to "feel the love" *hee*.

Great job! Consistency pays off, doesn't it? Enjoy your race and the last few weeks leading up to it!

Holy smokes! Your friend *is* hardcore! Wow.

And my goodness, I bow down to you doing ANY race in San Fran! What a great achievement that will be. Ooh, and you'll be getting some killer swag, won't you?

Congratulations! It is a great accomplishment. Enjoy your taper weeks, don't run too, too hard and eat well. The most important night of eating and rest is the Friday night before the race. I usually have trouble sleeping on sat night because I am too nervous and excited. some times I think the hardest part about the marathon is the training. One other thing...I don't know if anyone mentioned this but bring something to do for the morning of the marathon while you wait for the start. I like to bring cards and the paper. I also bring a garbage bag I can wear in case it rains or is windy. I never remember to do this but lots of people right their name on them somewhere and people in the crowd will cheer for you or call your name out. I wear a local running club shirt with our city name on it and people yell it out and it gives me motivation when I get tired. Have a great race and let us know how you do!

Mabdoo: so ironic that you posted this, because last night, our coach went over all the pre-marathon week prep that we should follow, and everything you outlined is everything he outlined :). Wow, he really does know what he's talking about ;). Ha, we tease him a lot on that--he gets a bit long-winded sometimes and it makes him an easy target, ha!

Yes, I always puff-paint my name on my TnT jersey, because it is such a pick-me-up to hear someone call your name at the most crucial moments of your event. Sometimes I can be so delirious from fatigue (mind you, this is in half-marathons, so I'm a little nervous about how I'll be during something twice as long LOL), and when I hear someone call my name, I'll think, "Wow, they know my name!" and I'll forget that, duh, I puffy-painted it on my jersey!

I'm looking forward to that the most, though--just having that support and love poured out to us. The Nike event especially has LOTS of people lining the streets (so much so that you can't always see your family and friends through the crowd), and the energy that crowd pumps out is amazing. I know how much their energy has carried me through the last leg of the 13.1 miles, so I'm counting on that to get me through the last 6.1 miles of the full (which I've been told are also the toughest miles of the entire course--oh joy!).

Trying not to get nervous now, but I can't help it. I just keep reminding myself how awesome my 20-miler felt and how I didn't think I could ever do anything like that, and yet I did it. I'm hoping for the same kind of experience on the "real" run--hills (all 7 or 8 of 'em) and all!
