Hi Cathe & educated crowd!

Recently I have cut out sugar and bread but need to know what kind of workouts I need to do to make a difference. I have a holiday booked for the summer and I'm praying not to have another fat holiday. It's taken a lot for me to write, please help

Hi,
I'm not sure if I'm allowed to recommend any actual products in this forum but I love sharing what worked for me. I am a big fan of a software program called Diet Power. I have used it for almost 7 years. I was able to shed all the baby weight that I gained plus some and I was able to keep it off. It is helpful in so many ways besides your weight. It really teaches you where you are going wrong and right daily because it keeps track of all your nutritional intake as well as hundreds of different types of exercise. It calculates your matabolism for the day based on your current weight and what you have been eating along with the amount of exercise you are doing. It does all of this using a food dictionary, food lables, the data from exercise machines, and you can even add your own recipes. I could go on and on about how awesome it is. It is especially good because it helps you to see that you don't have to give up your favorite foods but shows you how to incorporate them into your daily plan. I love it; I can't live without it. You have to be very serious about wanting to lose the weight though because this does require some effort since you have to accurately log (although it will guess if you miss a day but it just won't be as accurate) and weigh and measure portion sizes. It is worth the sacrifice.
The best part is since I am an authorized dealer, I can offer you $5 dollars off if you enter my name when you purchase the product. You also get a free 15 day trial that you can download, or send away for the disc. This is so much less expensive than other internet diets that you have to buy a membership for.

Good health to you!

Hi I am not Cathe but I would like to recommend you read the book "Eat to Live" by Joel Fuhrman. I have been following his advice for about 4 weeks and since I have, my cholestrol has dropped significantly (which was my goal - not weight loss or I would follow it more strictly!). Unfortunately, with all of the information out there on diets there is so much disinformation or it is flat out confusing.

You obviously work out so it is a matter of food choices perhaps or a medical reason why the weight does not come off.

I have followed the protein diet and it is only a short term answer. I personally cannot eat much processed food or simple sugars such as cake, cookies, rice, bread, and the rest of that type of food without gaining so I don't. However, since I have been eating the natural foods more, I do not have to follow any measuring or portions. So I eat alot of fruits and vegetables, the only animal protein I have been eating is fish (no poultry or other type of animal meat)and added on soy, tofu, beans, etc. I actually feel great and can tell that my body is responding fast as well (it actually looks more toned and less fat). I also have problems with weight loss and take synthroid for thyroid.

Good luck to you and keep on working out because it will only help you out mentally and physically!

Oh, I am 5'1" and my start weight was 201.5 pounds and I was a tight size 16. Now I am 150'ish and am a petite size 8 off the rack. I did make it to 115 but that was in my teen years and has not happened since!

Hi Die Hard,

Another great product is an e-book called "Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle". It also is awesome! There is a check in with a lot of the Forums members.

But I believe, how ever you chose to lose the weight, (there are many out there) is commitment and clean eating. Ater 10 years, you are half way there or less.

Sounds like you have muscle and then some. There are members here that are wonderful about giving great advice, and will lead you on how to move from size 16 to to your dream size. I'm sure it won't take you long, just a few adjustments is all.

There are also a Forum with Rotations to follow. Depending on what you want your body to look like. Give us more information, on your goals, and what you do during the week for eating and exercise, and I'm sure you will get detailed information on how to help yourself.

Looking forward to hearing from you again,

Janie

Thanks for all your replies

I think what I find hard is knowing what direction to take my workouts in. As I get bored easily I keep changing them not sticking to a rotation and I wondered after so long at the same weight what might be the best kind of workout to do as my legs are solid snd you can hardly pinch an inch but they are so large (28 inches)!!!My abs are solid flab and I don't know if I'm helping or hindering my results with the workouts I'm doing ie Hardcore, PS series, Cathe's step etc
Is endurance better for me or heavier weights, I'm just really seeking advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation or a educated workout fanatic!!!

Regarding my diet I have decided to cut bread, sugar etc as I mentioned before.

If you can help I'd love to hear from you

A die Hard Cathe fan!!!
